Tanaka Coffee & Grocer

Coffee good, no coffee art, service was pretty glum, and seating very basic. Seemed more of a supermarket rather than coffee shop/cafe.

The have the best oat latte. The sandwiches are top notch. Bit far from home otherwise I would have drove there everyday.

I pop down here about once a week for their delicious toasties and coffee. Without question, the highest quality produce and the staff are always super lovely and polite. They’re such an asset to the area- I’m obsessed with their herb mayo, also. We love!

Great coffee (the best in the area) and toasted sandwiches. I can recommend the tuna one. They also have great gluten free bread. The little grocery section has a small selection of quality produce. The staff are friendly. You have the option of paying forward a coffee for someone else. They also run many other social initiatives you can read about.

This place has great / consistent coffee, and really friendly staff. I moved out of the suburb, but still find myself making a detour in whenever I'm close by.

Also since they started stocking fruit and vegetables these guys are my go-to. Reasonably priced, comprehensive range and all locally sourced (I asked).

Very friendly staff members, with roadside seating. They offer all sorts of nuts, spices, breads, pastries and coffee.
Their coffee is competitively priced and is definitely of the better kind, but the default is pretty weak, so ask for strong if you live off of coffee.
Would award 5 stars if the default settings for their coffee was slightly stronger, as it was a bit too milky for my tastes, but that's just me being difficult

I have been going to Tanaka since it opened and supported the business through Covid, but i have to say my last two visits i was served by the grumpiest, ruddest young man, yes you Nes who co owns the business with his lovely partner. May i suggest you remember why you are still in business and if your tired, take a couple of days off and dont treat your customers with such disrespect. Try smilling and saying thank you.

This place has the best coffee and if you go in make sure you ask for the bread pudding it's is just to die for.

I shop all my fruits and veggies there at a fairly good price. The shop always looks super clean and tidy. The team is very friendly, they serve tasty coffee and beautiful toasties.

I love coming here over the supermarket! They have everything you need - fresh affordable veg and fruit, locally sourced bread, cheeses, meats, ice cream and more. Love that they use up produce in their cakes + jams & donate produce to local communities. Really nice coffee & friendly staff.

Friendly staff and impressive range of produce at great prices. Open long hours too. Don’t go to the supermarket! Shop here, because as well as serving you with a smile, they’re supporting the local community with donated meals. We’re so grateful to have them in the neighbourhood.

Lovely people and produce. It was an excellent little café and has pivoted into a lovely grocery now. Eat fresh food and support your local businesses!

If you say you're open until 4 why are you closed at 3.40? Walked over especially, won't bother coming again at all

Was thoroughly impressed by the chakalaka eggs and awesome customer service. Paired the following with a nice mango smoothie. Also the prices were very reasonable, can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu!

This was our go to coffee place during our stay in Melbourne. The best coffee we’ve had yet and great staff. One day we thought we’d try seven seeds coffee which was extremely average compared to bloom. Hope to be back soon cheers guys:)
