Good to have dinner with families, friends, coworkers. Nice interior and the food quality is excellent. I was satisfied with the quality! But the price quite high, I recommend it as a place to get together with people on special days:)

It’s delicious. You must order the fennel fried dough sticks. It’s so delicious and the base is very filling.

One of the best Chinese hotpot spots in Melbourne. We loved everything we ordered, especially the passion fruit chicken soup base — highly recommended! It tasted a bit unusual at first but became addictively appetising. Enjoyed the ox tongue and duck blood jelly as well. The sour plum juice was a perfect complement to the meal.

[2nd visit]

Had to come back again to Tan Hot Pot for another round of hot pot goodness!

For the soup bases, we picked the double flavour hotpot option - Tan's Traditional Spicy Soup and Tomato Soup!

For hot pot we ordered:
- Fish mince with roe
- Ox tongue
- Vegetable platter
- Fried beancurd skin
- Potato noodles

For snacks we ordered:
- Braised chicken hand
- Duck blood

Will definitely come back again!

Although It's not winter yet, it has been quite cold in Melbourne recently, which means it is now the perfect weather for HOT POT!

For the soup base, we ordered the pickled chili fish head soup (spicy) and passion fruit chicken soup (non-spicy). Tried these broths for the first time and they didn't disappoint!

These are the food we ordered:
- Tan's duck blood jelly (recommend)
- Kurobuta pork slice
- Crispy beancurd skin
- Premium beef slice (recommend)
- Beef and lamb roll combo (recommend)
- Fresh beef tripe
- Vegetable platter
- Potato noodles
- Sweet potato noodles (recommend)
- Salted yolk flavor mini fried dough stick

We enjoyed the experience overall and would come back again!

I really loved the unique cuisine of Sichuan hot pot at Tan Hotpot. It was our first time ever trying hotpot and Tan hot pot was fantastic! The decor is great and the food was so fresh, made our first experience an excellent one!

The upstairs interior/decor is great, the service for the food is really speedy. The ingredients they give you are fresh, and the presentation of some of the dishes are very aesthetic!
We ordered the tomato base and spicy soup which were very flavoursome broths.
Also, if you ask for aprons they also have them as well!

A lovely hotpot restaurant that serves up delicious Sichuan flavours and ingredients! We ordered:

ꕤ? ?
- Passionfruit Chicken Soup (NEW!)
- Bone Broth Soup

ꕤ? &?
- Mashed Fished with Roe
- Paw-Shaped Shrimp Balls
- Premium Beef Slice & Hot Spicy Beef
- Handmade Meat and Seafood Ball Mix

ꕤ? &?
- Fresh Tofu & Bean Curd
- Veggie Platter & Tang Oh
- Wide Potato Noodles & Handmade Noodles

We were so curious to try their new Passionfruit Chicken Soup. The broth is a rich chicken broth with passionfruit seeds which added a very different element to the soup It’s a unique combo but it works deliciously!

All the ingredients were so fresh and tasted so great. We especially loved how cute the Mashed Fish with Roe was. We also made our own dipping sauces which paired perfectly with the ingredients!

I tried my first hotpot here and I LOVED it! Almost all the customers were Asian which I like because is sign of authentical restaurant even if it was my first time the menu was very clear and easy, you choose the broth (we went for half passion fruit chicken, sooooo delicious, and half mushrooms) and there is a very large selection of meat, fish, veggie and noodle you can cook yourself in the hotpot! I really enjoyed the meal, mostly because you eat slowly as you are cooking everything yourself and you can enjoy the company in the meanwhile! I recommend for a different night out! Also all the food was super fresh, the meat was served with ice underneath? And the inside is very cool, it looks like a Chinese temple

I don’t understand how is your restaurant set up for the hot pot.when we order 1 mushroom n 1 spicy in one set. We got 4 peoples want to eat the mushroom one and only one person wanted to eat spicy one - but the hot pot there is can’t put spicy one in the central of pot -and they said if put the spicy one inside the taste will be change and become more bitter - i wonder Why the restaurant have this style for hot pot and customers can’t choose the one they wanting? Why didn’t set up with the hot pot 2 set but same size? It’s really stupid set up

The interior design was so beautiful, I loved the vibrant lanterns and the little cute table mat cartoons. Someone even pointed out that you could scan the place mat characters and it revealed a little tid bit about Chinese cuisine! Entertainment while waiting for the food.

Service was very fast and all the ingredients tasted fresh. We loved the hand made noodles and the fish mince in the form of an adorable fish was an adorable and memorable touch.

The only downside I would have to point out is the extra charge for the sauces per person for self service

The cost per person was around $38. This included alcoholic drinks. It’s not unlimited AYCE hot pot but you can really tell the difference between freshly made dishes and ingredients served. The passionate fruit broth was somewhat different but wasn’t overbearing, we were glad we chose it as the smaller portion however.

I absolutely loved the braised beef and cumin, my favourite dish aside from the quail eggs and the fish roe.

Overall, I would definitely come back for a casual hot pot experience with friends and family and we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner experience. It’s conveniently located and the price is quite reasonable.

We had the pleasure of trying Tan Hot Pot and I have to say that it was an absolutely delicious experience. The broth was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of heat and spices to make it addictive. I could have eaten it all night! There was also a self serve sauce station and we went hard on the peanut sauce. I loved experimenting with different combinations to find the perfect flavor to suit my tastes.

As for the ingredients, we had a wide variety of options to choose from. We started with some thinly sliced beef and lamb, which cooked up quickly in the broth and had a wonderful tender texture. We loved the fish with the roe on top.

For the vegetables, we had enoki mushrooms, wombok and crispy bean curd. The veggies all tasted fresh and crisp, and they soaked up the delicious broth beautifully.

I highly recommend Tan Hot Pot to any food lovers out there!

Any weather is hotpot weather so head on over to Tan Hotpot for an authentic Sichuan experience. This is my third visit and it is still amazing.

The interior is beautifully decorated with ornately carved tables and seats. You also have robots bringing your dishes to your table.

Broth is super aromatic and for those that are spice averse, go with mild! We tried the hot & sour broth as well as their new passionfruit chicken broth.
Flavours are amazing and you have an extensive menu to choose from. This ranges from different cuts of meat, seafood, vegetables, dumplings and various meat & seafood balls.

Just sit back, dip the fresh ingredients into the fragrant broth and enjoy the experience. Of course, a hotpot is not complete without a delicious dipping sauce (my fav is sesame paste, fermented beancurd, chillies, xo sauce and fresh coriander).

We will be back!

Tan Hotpot have launched two new broth bases, perfect pairings for the double flavoured soup base option - the only hard decision being which broth you want more of.

The pickled chilli fish head broth (complete with a full fish head!) was mildly spicy, but the sourness of the pickled chilli balances it nicely. Meanwhile the passionfruit chicken sounds absurd but it works well to give a subtly sweet flavour to the ingredients.

To start, definitely add on a serve of their signature crispy pork -perfect snack while waiting for the ingredients to cook and the cutest bubble tea to cool off.

? ? ? ($32.8) - pickled chilli fish head (outer ring) and passionfruit chicken (inner ring)
? ? ? ? ($14.8)
? ? ? ($14.8)
? ? ? ? ($11.8)
? ? &? ? ? ($19.8)
? ? ($15.8)
? ? ? ($6.8)
? ? ($7.8)

Thank you @tanhotpot for having me!

Tan serves fresh and best quality ingredients and there is also a cute adorable robot waiter. Tan specialises in Sichuan flavours and is Melbourne’s only duck blood hotpot.

There’s heaps of dishes on the menu to choose from, all sorts of meat, the cute shaped minced fish roe, noodles, vegetables, handmade balls etc.

Really enjoyed our hotpot session at Tan and definitely meat overload.

Love their brand new passionfruit chicken broth. So flavoursome and unique.

Tan Hotpot is a popular Sichuan style hot pot chain which is located on Bourke Street in the CBD of Melbourne, it’s first restaurant in Australia.

The restaurant has a nice inspired Chinese decor, spacious seating, the menu is very diverse and lots to choose from including crocodile which I ordered and was very nice.

What I ordered:

Mushroom soup pot
Wagyu beef slice?
Braised beef tendons
Tan’s secret crocodile fillet
Braised beef tripe?
Fish mince with roe
Crispy beancurd skin
Enoki mushroom
Dried mushroom
Hotpot potato noodle
Seasoning ($3 per person)

Definitely recommend visiting this place for your Hotpot craving.

We really enjoyed the beautiful hotpot and the good service.

Beat the Melbourne WINTERS with a Spicy Hot Pot at tan Hotpot

We recently visited and loved it️

We chose the spicy and tomato soup base and picked many ingredients both vegetarian and meats to dip in from a huge variety that they offer.

And the best is that you get FREE Tofu pudding to finish off the meal if you share and tag @tanhotpot on Instagram.

Do visit and warm yourselves up!
