"Old Melbourne trains known as Harris cars due to the presence of asbestos, most were disposed of in the 1990s, by being buried at Talbot Quarry in Clayton, a south-eastern suburb of Melbourne, some having been wrapped in plastic. "

If you dig deep enough here you might find one!

I want to visit this spot someday and find the exact location where the former V. R. (Victorian Railways) Blue Harris electric trains were buried in the late 80's to early 90's here. They have to be somewhere around the location.

Pleasant Park, final resting place for most of the blue Harris Trains, buried here in trenches as they were insulated with asbestos and could not be safely scrapped.

Has a circular walking/running track, a playground, BBQ 2 plates, 3 picnic table, park benches, car park and disability access. In hot condition there is no seats in the shade, hence the low rating. Also it isn't pieceful as a main road passes by, so cars can always be heard.

Very calm and clean park for little ones to play around. Toilets and drinking water is available. Very friendly council worker's who come regularly for scheduled cleaning services. Regular visitor's are often seen.nice little reserve to walk around.

Tiny park with 600m bitumen walking path. 3 small ponds with natural vegetation and ducks wading with ducklings during spring.
Good for a neighbourly walk.

It's a nice quiet park with plenty of things for the kids. The only downside is that the council has let it fall apart, some activities are missing entire pieces.

Better care needs to be put in at the park. There's rust and wood has peeled and it seems dangerous for children. Newer and safer equipment need to be put in.

Wanted a short, safe walk so tried this park. It is family friendly and quite pleasant, with native vegetation planted and ponds with frogs and ducks which was lovely. There is a BBQ shelter and playground. There does not seem to be much upkeep of this park, with a lot of weeds, but it is nice to walk around, even if you have to do a few laps to get a longer walk. It was flooded in parts. It could do with a Friends group to help maintain it (if there isn't already one).

Small park with BBQ, Toilet and kids playground. Enough for walking dog. Good place for family or Small group gathering.

Has a toilet and good playground for kids. BBQ there, not sure if it works. Grass not always maintained.

Great place for a barbeque, the grill is sheltered and the entire space is wheelchair accessible. Will definitely be coming back for more grill seshes with the boys.

Beautiful park, but not very big. The playground is good and has an undercover barbecue. The playground could use some bush trimming to avoid kids running into it.

Good park but very strange people at that park. There’s a 40 yo Asian man coming up every time to the children’s playground and rubbing his back side.

I think it is a good place for parents' gathering with kids as there is an off street car park, BBQ, public toilets and the playground is fenced! Only facilities need some updates.

A small park, with some kids activities and walking track around it.

There is also place for barbecue under a roof. People can spend time and have their BBQ parties there.

A nice place to hang around and people can spend about 1-1.5hrs here.

Great park for 1-3year olds who are just learning to climb and going down slides. Playground is not too high off the ground and each level is within easy climb for small legs. Has a beautiful wooden boat/ship with dry pebbled river and mini bridge for plenty of imaginative play. Plenty of open grass areas, toilets and bbq facilities.

The park is good, offering a place to stroll or play with the kids, though it's not really open enough for ball games with larger kids.

The toilets however are regularly filthy, though this is standard for public parks outside gentrified areas.

Quaint little park in Oakleigh South / Clarinda. With plenty of room to kick a ball with your kids or to have a BBq on the permanent BBq's there

So much space, great for bike riding and walking/jogging, playing sports and good for barbecues.
