The food is ok but the service is nearly none!
People are lining outside, but no one is checking up. There is a table available for two, but the server doesn't know how to welcome customers in. Instead, they just keep telling people to wait outside, leaving those empty seats unused for a while. It's really frustrating. So speechless. No wonder the shop is always “busy”

You need to wait in line for 10-20 minutes at noon. The area for internal use is relatively small. You can drink black tea for free for internal use, and you can refill the cup. The male clerk's service is very good and enthusiastic. The corn soup has a Taiwanese flavor, and the ancient black tea is also very good. The pork chop is good. As for the side dishes, I think the glass noodles can be replaced with other dishes. The taste is relatively ordinary and has no special characteristics. The fried pork rice is okay and the crispy chicken chop is good.

It's tastier and cheaper than Clayton Yes. Among all Taiwanese foods, this one seems to be the best. I am satisfied except that the inside of the store is cramped.

After staying in Australia for 5 years, I finally found the only truly Taiwanese restaurant with very good service!
Unlike other restaurants where the main dishes are all too chewy, the bento boxes highly recommend the signature chicken cutlet rice and chicken rice bento boxes, and there are really side dishes here that are perfect for rice!
There is also corn chowder that is really restored to the north. Those who use it on site can drink ancient black tea for free, and you can buy uniform pudding here! ! !
The overall experience is very good
As for the shortcomings, I think only the breakfast omelet needs to be improved. The taste is also very restored, but the omelet itself is too small and comes with a bunch of French fries. I don't like it that much.
I hope everyone will support me, especially if you are Taiwanese. It is really precious to be able to eat it in Australia.

I like this shop very much. The black tea tastes very good. The shop is small and there are not many seats. The staff is very kind and asked me if the food is OK and thick. That makes my day. I ate the golden crispy chicken steak in one day, noodles, braised pork rice, meat floss egg pancakes and French fries, very satisfying.

Went there close to lunch hours, so we managed to try both their breakfast and lunch menu - was lucky enough to grab a comfortable seat near the window.

Breakfast pancake: nice but it definitely needs dipping sauce (you can make your own).

Mee sua: comforting but again, you need to add in the free condiments. Definitely some white pepper and soy sauce.

Chicken popcorn: yummy!

Rice box: another comforting dish. It wad huge!

Food is hearty and delicious, staff was so kind. The atmosphere is comfortable and clean. The free black tea is so good. Highly recommend.

Lovely Taiwanese food and fast service as well, although there's a line during peak hours. So be prepared to wait for your turn, or go early.

The first meal instantly became the top three pocket list in the city.
I was so eager to eat that I forgot to take photos.
All in all, I will definitely visit again and again.

I ordered Lao Cai’s signature chicken cutlet bento, and I loved it! If there was this restaurant near my home, I would check in there every three days. It is delicious Taiwanese food. It must be noted that I measured it using Taiwanese standards, not Australia’s Taiwanese taste standards!
I like it very much, very cost-effective.

My family in Taiwan runs a bento shop. After staying in Australia for a long time, I really miss the food cooked by my mother. It is really amazing. The service staff are very enthusiastic and not careless. The black tea is delicious and the chicken steak is really good. Taiwan

Food was alright, nothing stands out. I personally think the chicken portion is a bit small compared to Hot Star fried chicken.
However the server was warm and welcoming.

Highly recommended! I had traditional deep fried chicken bento with $2 for braised pork sauce. Really authentic food and black tea! Staff is friendly. Hope the restaurant can open at night time!

Friendly service and great food! I recommend getting a takeout and enjoying it in the park nearby as the shop tends to get very busy with limited seats and crowded space.

I missed the breakfast period and went straight to lunch. Fortunately, there were inside seats, and the guy in charge of the store was very kind.

Lao Cai’s signature chicken chop bento really did not disappoint us. The sweet sauce on the chicken chop is our favorite Tainan flavor; the braised pork rice and chicken rice are not only generous portions, but also have almost as much meat/sauce as rice; Taiwanese corn soup I really have the illusion of returning to Taiwan in an instant. My daughter loves it. Although I can’t choose the side dishes of the bento, they are also super seasoned. The salty crispy chicken really doesn’t have to be too delicious. The ratio of powder skin to meat is just right, and the portion is large without being greasy, it’s just that the pepper and the nine-story pagoda can be a little more generous

I almost forgot to mention the all-you-can-drink ancient black tea. Even those who are not obsessed with hand-drinking will also fall in love!
