Taco Bill - Blackburn reviews
52 I signed up to Club Taco which entitled me to a 25% off voucher (and I think also something on your birthday) which made the $80 something dollar bill for two people with no alcohol a bit more reasonable. For the type of food this is, it is definitely on the expensive side. Disappointed the frozen slushie machine wasn’t working also
Original review
We had a discount voucher for here from a hotel, one of those to do things in Melbourne (not sure this is entirely a must do in melb thing but anywho) and I was surprised to see they have spruced up the menu. While it’s been modernised I don’t care for the calorie count next to the menu items!
Nachos to share, a combination each and the Mexican punch. This was $66 so not bad and with the discount even better
We had a lovely dinner there. The food was tasty but the first mango slushie was very sour which we thought was a lemon slushie. After informing the waitress we were offered a replacement with a second mango slushie which was better. The atmosphere was pleasant and would have been better if it was less dim.
Overall we were happy and would be returning customers.
Disgusting food. Microwaved and reheated meals. Gross. Wouldn't recommend wasting your money here.
Fun place to catch up with work friends. Delicious tacos and they also have a great drink menu.
The service was amazing, the waitressing staff that were working the night I visited were more than accomodating and the food tasted fresh and full of flavour!
Nachos were great but tacos (soft/ hard) and burrito bowls were very plain in taste. If I could give some feedback to Taco Bill Blackburn It would be to improve flavours and include sides (sour cream, salsa) with taco dishes.
Service here was average - at one point we had to walk up and approach staff for another drink. I would probably only return for a snack and a drink.
Had the worst experience at this restaurant this evening. Been going there for many years and know that we will never go again!
Bad customer service and a less than average meal!
Great service and food. Happy to recommend. Little on the pricy side for a family restaurant though.
Been there at Saturday night, had an amazing experience. Highly recommended.yummy food, great staff, smooth service.
If there was a zero point, I would give it zero. The worst Mexican food I have ever had!
My family and I visited this restaurant once in Templestowe for my birthday and I was really disappointed as the Fajita was overcooked and the taste of the taco was too far from the mexican taste!
If there was no star I would choose it for this place, not recommended at all, very poor customer service and owner even worse, I am a 6 years customer for this place recently owner changed and last night was my first time with new management, lots of mixed up on orders then my husband had to stay another 20 min for fix the staff mistake also she didn't bring rice that was included in the meal and when my husband told her she missed the rice she was looking in our plate to find it, seems she was thinking we take it and trying to take one more ️and when bring rice throw it with very rude attitude then when I pick my first bit I find out they gave my order that was beef to someone else and gave me chicken instead we called the staff but she said can't do anything after all of this poor customer service (we had 3 plate of fajita on the table) all fajita was burned and bitter so I asked them for their manager when he came I tried to politely give him feedback there instead writing here but surprising he said if you know Mexican food is like this, what the.is not my first time having Mexican food then without any apologies when still we were talking with him he left us without any explanation I didn't want to write bad review for them if they even listen to me and solve it with a simple apology
It was a horrible experience and I never ever back to their restaurant
Far from real Mexican food, really disappointed. Beef was burned, rice was cold, mexican beans were over-boiled to like paste!
Had an amazing night, awesome food, great drinks, love the fishbowls.
Ordered nachos which was amazing, The best guacamole i have ever had.also the Sizzling Fajitas were juicy and flavoursome.
Super friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Lets face it - Taco Bills is a franchise. One store is similar to all the others. My dining experience last night was undoubtedly marred by the failings of this overall 'franchise' formula and their business model.
Blackburn is a lovely little venue - clean, tidy and well run. The young staff on last night were pleasant and efficient but fairly distracted. It was little more than a 'place your order and the food comes along' experience.
Taco Bills serving quantities (universally) are poor value and definitely overpriced for the current market. The food itself is otherwise generally consistent and o.k, for a process driven franchise.
I had the usual fare last night but there were absolutely no specials on offer or any other incentives for dining early in the week. I ordered an Enchilada and sides as I only needed a modest meal. The (very small) sausage roll sized offering on a side plate consisted of about four reasonable mouthfuls and was a very pathetic offering considering it was classed as an (expensive) main meal.
I made the mistake also of ordering a frozen Margarita and it was frankly a disgrace. $15 and I received basically a large cocktail glass with some mix syrup and crushed ice. There was virtually no discernible alcohol in the drink and the customer is definitely getting screwed on these. The result was watery, bitter from the Triple Sec and outrageously expensive in itself. I was forced to order an $8 shot of Tequila and tip that in rather
than throw it all away.
$55 for a very light meal is just not cutting it on the overall dining market, particularly when there are considerably better offerings (food wise) in nearby suburbs.
As I stated, I blame the franchise business model but Taco Bills just isn't cutting it any longer.
Not a good experience. There was something off with the beans and the beef too. Spoke to the staff to check with the chef got an answer saying all the tables were served same beans none of them complained!
I waited about 45 minutes to get my orders. The food was decent but the girl there doesn't speak much English so it's hard to communicate.
Was served off guacamole and the beef left a disgusting after taste in my mouth felt sick the whole night
Just tried Mexican food for the first time and it was great. Great place, great food, great ambience and above all the service is great, the receptionist is really cute and recommends the choices for food really well!
Very pleasant experience! Super delicious food.waitress was incredibly lovely! Would definitely go again.
No masks, no respect, no customer service.
Staff were rude and abused us when we asked why half of them weren't wearing a mask.
The owner said that the chefs in the kitchen didn't need to wear mask because they were running. Last time I checked, cooking food isn't a marathon
