Taco Bill - Altona North

Short handed staff doing well. This is not the taco bill of my youth and nor should it, with the rise in tex mex as a new Mceverywhere food. It's changed with a more streamlined menu. Everything we ordered was as we expected it to be and arrived in a reasonable time but with 4x4 and 2x6 tables with one cook and on server it's not going to suit fast food expectations.

If I wanted rude behaviour from teenage girls I could of went through McDonald's drive through. At least I would've have saved myself $100. Here's a tip with mixed fajitas your suppose to put chicken and beef with vegetables, not oil and onions. Unfortunately I've given up on that place.

Food quality is great. Customer service is also top notch.

We went for a birthday celebration, and we hardly felt that we were celebrating something. I called them up to ask if there were any offers going on as it was someone’s birthday but the lady was more interested in saving the offers for herself as she told me that we will get offer only if we become a member and we cannot have a birthday cake if we want to use a discount offer. Fair enough! So we went there and the place was nice and clean with good ambiance but the food was average (considering we went there for the first time we had some expectations), I mean Guzman tastes better than the food they serve. Taco (vegan) was so bland we had to add chilli sauce and salt on top to gulp it down, we ordered cheese and chicken enchilada that tasted good but chicken had some weird smell, quesadillas were fine but can taste better and lastly I asked for a burrito bowl and all i got was cold salad (lettuce, corn, few beans and guacamole) again to which I had to add salt and chilli sauce to gulp it down ($22 for salad in a bowl which cannot be eaten with fork if its not cut well especially the cabbage!). We had a mexican punch thank god to push it down. All in all no one asked if we wanted a cake to celebrate just gave us a bill with a discount of 25% which came down to $53. Thank god to the membership email we had.

Been going here pretty much since it opened always great food, moved away, returned for a visit looking forward to having it but have to say sadly it’s nothing like a Taco bill should be it’s very different and not in a good way. I think if you have a franchise you should have to stick to the same style of food not modified it. I was so disappointed as I was only in vic a short time and the worst was I could have gone to south Melbourne taco bill which is the best! But sadly choose Altona north. Our large group even had a photo out the front for our very last time going here, hopefully enough people complain and they change it back.

The food and price is reasonable. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The place has a good ambience for celebration and catch up with friends and family.

Been going to this restaurant ever since I could remember absolutely delicious food the setting of the restaurant is exquisite such friendly staff members they are very well priced and always greet us and thank us for coming it is very clean and most of all they all are very lovely people I love going to Taco Bills Altona North not only for the service but for the divine food they serve would 100% recommend dining there

Great place have been going there forever they have such friendly and amazing staff good prices and very clean restaurant. They also have the most amazing food and deserts and the meals come out quickly.

Sangria was flavourful and tasty, and margaritas were icy frozen cold. The tequila sunrise was also very nice
The fajitas came out on a sizzling black tray and and had so many sides that came with it. The entree quesadilla (delgada) was absolutely packed with flavour from pico to seasoning and the enchiladas were cheesy and saucy and packed with meat. The flan is also very tasty and had a creamy soft texture that me.
The waiters and waitresses were very welcoming, and during a busy Father’s Day night it did take a little while, but once we got our food we spent almost 1/2 hours trying all the entrees and main they had to offer.

The decor is very modern and appealing with a mix of artwork and wallpapers, the bathrooms need some renovation but overall the restaurant looked fabulous

There is lots of parking as well as dietary options.

You also get a free bowl of corn chips and salsa that comes out first for you to snack on while browsing the menu. I ordered 3 large take away salsas since it was so flavourful and delicious.

To sum up we had an amazing night out for Father’s Day at taco bill and will definitely return for more.

Honestly I love that the menu hasn’t changed in like 20 years. The service here was excellent and the staff so friendly. Great ambiance and good prices. Brining my two year old crayons was a helpful touch. The only thing I was disappointed in was the replacement of lettuce with white cabbage. You’d think from the backlash kfc had that restaurants would realise this is not ok. I understand the need to keep costs down but cabbage with Mexican food is disgusting and doesn’t go well. I hope they change this soon.

Firstly I’d like to say how much I usually enjoy Taco Bill restaurants. I take my family there each one of my birthdays and for Father’s Day.
However the visit to Altona Taco Bill tonight was my worst experience at a restaurant in my life.
I have given a one star option because there is no option for 0 stars.
We pre booked the day before to make sure that we would have a table seeing Father’s Day is usually a very busy night, however it was only half full and after eating there I understand why.
We arrived at 6pm and were shown to our seats which was underneath a big air conditioner blowing out cold air- even though it was 10 degrees outside.
We then had to sit and wait for 20 minutes before anyone came back to see if we wanted drinks or to order.
After ordering it took another 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive - one of which was a flat coke.
Only then did they bring out the nachos and salsa which are standard at every taco bill restaurant.
All this time we were surrounded by tables with dirty dishes piled up on them which did not get cleared off our whole time at the restaurant.
When our dinner finally arrived at 7: 20pm it was such a disappointment. (Again I must stress there was only about 6 other tables of people in the restaurant.)

Three of our family had our food burnt and stuck on to the plates.
Even scraping with the knife we were unable to get the enchiladas off the plate.
My daughter also ordered fajitas with tortillas- however the tortillas were rock hard and had to be swapped for another set.
On top of that she did not receive the guacamole that was part of the meal.
When we finally finished our meal we could not get out of the store quick enough.
Oh and we are still waiting for the water that we ordered.
The rest of my family are telling me never to go to Taco Bill again but I think we will just have to find a different store which actually value their customers.
Ps I would like to mention that I did feel sorry for the 14/15 year old boy who seemed to be doing all the work at the store.

Excellent ambiance, the food tasted very delicious and the service was also quick. The staff was very polite and everything was great in all. Best Mexican food I have had in Melbourne. Highly recommended!

Went to restuarant with friends today. One of friends birthday. Have gone here for 10 years Had a great meal Thank you. We all enjoyed ourselves

We arrived at taco bill for the fishbowl margaritas and needless to say they were fabulous. Great value and service during an understaffed time.

However, something that threw me and my friends experience off was a rude customer harassing the manager. She was sitting near us and constantly complained to the waiter about such insignificant things. She ended up having yelling at the manager and the waiter before leaving. The manager apologised for the inconvenience. She was heckling the boy working about the bathrooms (which were fine) and the dishes on tables around her even though it was only him and the manager running around.

The woman has already left a review detailing her untruthful side of the story. It is extremely saddening that she has to go to these lengths to pester the business. She claims she was polite and just trying to help which is a complete lie.

Even though the disrespectful woman negatively affected our night it was great to be back at taco bill after such a long time. The chef was friendly when I talked to her and overall Taco Bill performed well in the situation and I will definitely be back soon.
