Sylvan Caravan Park reviews
21Stayed for 8 nights. Staff are lovely. Sites are small but fine if you're going into the city most days. 15 min walk from train station. Amenities old but fairly clean. Lots of long termers and perms but they're really friendly. No kitchen facilities but again fine if you've got your own cooking stuff. Cheap and cheerful. Would stay again
Convenient location nestled between surrounding caravan repair stores. Good bang for buck with helpful and easy going reception which was greatly appreciated during stressful first time to Melbourne
Price online was $45.00 a night for powered site but was charged 60.00.way overpriced and would be the worst caravan park I've ever stayed in. Old unlockable amenities.couldn't even put our awning out because next caravan was so close. Les the manager however couldn't be nicer. Owners need to put some money into the place. Won't go back, total rip off
Though Sylvan is quite a large site,
it is amazingly quiet and serene comprising of mainly long term residents. The facilities while basic were functional and clean. Location was perfect for visitor's to the cbd. Management were working hard to update and modernise the facilities.
Good luck les and team with your endeavours.
Very disappointing park for the price you pay. So hard to get van around permanent residents cars, parked everywhere. Not very well maintained at all. The only reason they can charge so much, is because it is so handy to Epping where caravaners have to take vans for repairs. It is about the only choice available. We would never go back.
We booked a night at the campground and clarified with the owner that we will arrive at about 10am. They told me we should call them 10min before we arrive. We tried to reach them so many times without any respond, and we already paid! It is an absolutely cheek to handle bookings like this! In our trouble we needed to look for another campground. I would never ever recommend this campground, else when you take a closer look from the outside, it looks quite unsafe, unfriendly and not clean. We now stay at a Big4 very close to the city for 3$ more, you should go there. Would be the best choice, definitely.
I‘d rather give no star, but that’s not possible on Google.
I booked the caravan desperately due to a medical emergency with my husband. Yes it was outdated BUT it was clean and the staff were lovely, helpful and compassionate. They were so ultimately caring and asking often if there was anything they could do. I’ve always been taught not to judge a book by it’s cover and how true that is! I’d recommend this caravan park to anybody! Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts ️
Stayed longer than anticipated due to problems I encountered with my caravan over the Christmas period. Les was extremely courteous and understanding of my predicament. I have no hesitation in recommending this caravan park to all whilst Les is the manager.
My thanks go out to Les.
Dennis.
Very friendly and helpful people. It’s a small caravan park. They got place when everything was full.
This was a convenient and comfortable place for our visit to Melbourne. The staff were friendly and accommodating and although we're not aware of any online booking system they were able to accomplish it all by phone with in-person payment.
Upfield Station has trains to the centre of Melbourne every 20 minutes or so in the daytime and evening and is an easy 10 - 15 minute walk away, depending on your pace.
The site is primarily residential so don't expect the usual traveller trappings. Nevertheless it was quiet and the facilities, while older, were spotlessly clean.
We had a one night stop over and Peter and crew were just lovely and helpfully, nothing was too much trouble. The showers and toilets maybe on the dated side but they where clean and looked after. We would stay here again if needed to. Thanks guys
Great price, clean amenities, chip and chocolate machine available and a good laundry. Great manager and the local residents are friendly, helpful and welcoming. I can recommend this park, I will definitely be back
My husband Darcy and I travelled from Brisbane to Melbourne for 10 days in our caravan to visit family. We found Sylvan Caravan Park a good base. Allen, the Manager was very professional and friendly. The park, while fairly dated, was very clean at all times. The amenities were always fresh and clean. The residents of the Park were friendly and you could hear a pin drop in the evenings. Thankyou Allen, we hope to stay again on our next trip.
Under new management. Doing a great job. Oh n there is no drugoes here. So don't believe everything you read.
About 100 or so residential spots for caravan parking. Bathroom and toilet are provided on both ends. Mainly lonely individuals live here
Good, clean park with basic facilities, close to Melbourne. Lot's of permanent residents, very well behaved, quiet and friendly. Friendly, helpful staff.
It's okay, affordable and a cheap stay does the job. Not the cleanest but if your looking for holidaying or working on a budget and don't mind staying in an old cabin it does the job. Shower pressure was my favourite but I'm not so sure I liked the bed comfort level was quite hard and very noisy being under flight path, big planes fly over quite low around every 10mins. I'd recommend for short stays for workers. Reception is lovely.
Needs a good clean up and upgrade. Toilets clean. Expensive $45 a night site. Would not stay again
What a Lovely place for your RV and Ada does a Good in the Office and Cliff is lovely and Likes a Yan. Thanks for having us stay while in Melbourne ️
Friendly and helpful. Stayed two nights while we were getting work done nearby on our motorhome. Reasonable rates. Amenities old/tired but clean.
