I just had a problem with an online order that was transferred to the Sydney Tools Blackburn store.

I was just assisted by a very friendly and helpful stuff member, Thomas Hatch, who was able to find out what had happened very quickly and resolved my problem immediately.

Exceptional service by an exceptional staff.

I went in looking for a very specific tool that the other big box retailer did not stock. After looking around, I spoke to a staff about my need. Not only did the staff know what I am talking about, he also knew the store would not carry this item.

The staff told me that he has the tool at home and would drop it off in my letter box (based on the info in the existing customer database) in a day or 2.

Lo and behold, the staff came to my door with the tool and even showed me how to use it.

Well done Sydney Tools for hiring a fantastic human to be on your team.

I had my BEST EVER customer service experience at Sydney Tools BLACKBURN VIC.
STEVE not only asked me what I was looking for, but also took an interest in my project and the problem I was trying solve.
He then proceeded to
- suggest and discuss solutions to a problem i was facing
- walked round the shop to show me what I needed to resolve the problem,
- explained to me how to use the products
For items that weren't in stock, he then searched the internet to determine where they were available (including competitor stores).

STEVE's indepth product knowledge and fantastic approach (how to solve problems and not just to sell products) just blew me away.

I would recommend Sydney tools Blackburn without reservation!
They definitely exceeded my expectations.

Terrible product! Terrible service! I bought a KARCHER G32OO Petrol Pressure Washer on 11/9/ 2022, just to clean driveway, fences, pavement etc.in my house. The machine makes terrible noises and vibrations when it runs. I've only used it a few times since I bought it, for a total of no more than 10 hours, and found that the bottom frame was broken. I delivered the machine to the store, and a clerk told me they will contact me what to do about it. A week later I called the store to ask it, the clerk asked me not to call them, they will call me. Three weeks later I called the store, they told me they will email me about it. It's been almost a month since the machine was returned to the store, and I haven't heard anything yet.

Staff have limited knowledge of what they are selling, so do your research before going there.

Take extra care to check if all parts are in the box before leaving.

And never provide your driver's license when asked, as they'll record your driver's license number before you can stop them. And your personal details are a data leak away from being public knowledge.

Well, I guess I'm saying don't go there unless it's absolutely necessary or there's a great bargain and you can't help yourself to avoid it.

Update:
Fair point about the varying level of expertise, Sydney Tools Blackburn. I guess it's just my bad luck I encountered an "apprentice".

But just like any other industry, the employer is responsible for the "apprentice", not the customer.

And I'm somewhat shocked, and it is telling that you chose not to respond to my other points, I guess it's probably company-wide policy and not something you can personally change.

Anyway, best of luck guys.

These rookies are the masters of poor customer service, repairs and generally don’t give any form or care towards the customers needs.
I Dropped off my Mikita miter saw for repair It’s brand new only one week old and I have been waiting for 5 weeks unfortunately no response from them,
Stay well clear people, these muppets truly treat customers like flogs,
they really disappointed me I am not happy with customer service I prefer Bunnings to Sydney tool.

Bought my first set of tools there when starting my apprenticeship. Back in the area 5 years later and very happy to be able to buy my tools there again. Friendly and helpful staff.

Best customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. Ordered items for pickup and they wouldn’t fit into the car so Travis kindly came and dropped them off himself in his own Ute.

Sydney Tools Blackburn - Steve the store manager saved my day. Absolute legend. I had an impact bit broke inside the impact driver leaving me in a dilemma as I was onsite halfway through a job. Steve offered to help me out on the spot and extracted the broken bit and got me on my way. Customer service is a 20 out of 10. Need more stores like Sydney Tools Blackburn with helpful staff that go above and beyond. Highly recommend.

10/10 came in to get set up for my apprenticeship and the staff were amazing. They helped gather all the tools + toolbox I needed and special thanks to Sunny for helping gather tools/checkout and carry everything to the car!

The festool drill mixer was used for nearly a year and a half and broke down

and I sent it to the front desk with a three-year warranty.
Three weeks later, they gave me an invoice for $145 and demanded immediate payment within two days.
After inquiring, ability is informed, electric wire is not inside warranty range, electric wire is not damaged, be original factory, why?
Finally, they asked for $33 to mail the tools back to the store.
Tool quality is not guaranteed, No more shopping there。

As an apprentice I really appreciate their advice and deals. Always good to know that if I walk into Sydney Tools Blackburn I will interact with people who know what they’re talking about!

I bought a battery backpack sprayer in 2020. It broke on first use then got recalled. They still have my money and I have spent many days of my life chasing a refund or replacement. You would not get this bad service at any other shop in Australia.

Just walked into Sydney tools 3pm wondered around the store looking for hedge trimmer combo and battery mower. Knew what I wanted just needed to confirm a few things. 5 staff 2 customers thought my chances were good at getting service. 20 minutes of wondering the shop being ignored then 5-10 min of standing at the counter looking for someone to sell me something. Not sure why was completely ignored and as I walked out heard a sale staff member say to another see told you he was window shopping…. Wow! You should be embarrassed to call yourself “tool and sales specialist”
