The men's clothes were overpriced rags. I wouldn't bother going into this store again. Opportunity shops are much better value.

Have been coming to this store for years now but recently have stopped due to the customer service.

It is only natural for the more up-market vintage to have a few unfriendly workers, but every time I come to SWOP, the distaste for my presence is visceral, and it feels obvious that they have chosen people who fit their aesthetic over people with actual people skills. For example, they will never say hello, ask me if I need any help or just show any interest in interaction.

As well as coming in for general shopping, I trade clothes. The process used to be a lot more simple (bring clothes in, wait 30mins>, and trade) but now, to ensure your clothes are assessed you book in time slots. However, even when I did this the wait was 1.5 hours. I understand that they could have had a rush but the people who served me had such little sympathy for the situation and lack of priority for those who booked in that I don't want to go back.

Honestly, I don't usually like to write bad reviews but I'm sure you can sense how tired and bitter I am about this and feel that something big needs to change.

The service was poor. I went to sell clothes, and at first they said I was too late for them to check. But I went there two hours before the store closed. Then it was said that a person could only sell fourteen clothes. When I say the two of us, the clerk gets embarrassed. And say, okay, you come back in an hour and a half. I waited around for an hour and a half, and when I got back, they didn't take anything.

I got two suitcases of clothes. They made a bunch of excuses. It's obviously a deliberate denial. No one is advised to sell second-hand clothes in this shop. We took the clothes to the goodbyes, and the clerk was kind enough to take them.

SWOP is such an incredible concept, it’s accessible, and economically and environmentally sustainable.i had head a lot about it from friends for years-but it’s taken me ages to finally get around to going there and taking some of my clothes in.it is 100% worth your time! The workers were extremely lovely and helpful.and and if you are a bit like me (shy and self-conscious) they also allow you space which to be honest is rare and HUGELY underrated in retail spaces.you are given the option of shop credit or cash money! (i have chosen both at different states of financial ruin respectively). Honestly the whole thing is a win win and i could not recommend doing business here enough!

I love the concept of Swop and am always happy to pay for their pieces as I understand this is not an op shop, but rather a curated secondhand store.

I used to love their true vintage pieces and it's a shame that they have lately put so much focus on selling y2k and designer stuff.

I went in the store a few weeks ago to pick up an online order and the staff made feel so uncomfortable, like I wasn't worthy of their attention or smile - it's not the first time I have had this type of experience at Swop. I looked at the other reviews and it seems that a lot of people feel this way. Maybe it's time to train your staff or hire nice people to work in the store? You have lost my business.

Thank you so much to the swop team! Best clothing exchange in melb. Love that you get the cash/credit on the spot - has really motivated regular closet clean-outs for me and made me more conscious of the kinds of labels I buy. Staff are always lovely even when super busy.

SWOP has an extensive range of international and interesting brands. I was looking for something specific and Sophie was so helpful and suggested a few great pieces. She has a good eye and I appreciated her expertise and time.

Swop is Awesome! I'm really happy with my Gorman and gorgeous linen clothes. The staff are very helpful and the clothes they couldn't take went to people in need.

According to the website, it closes at 6: 00 when i arrived here it's only 5: 30 one of the staff instead of serve me, chose to ignore me ,then I went over asked her and she coldly told me that it closes at 4: 00, Maybe she wants two hours' pay or maybe she thinks that she is the owner and can adjust the time and waste the customers' time. I don't think so, but she must be a relative of the boss.hope she can receive training before doing customer service.

Sustainable, beautiful and easy to use! You get the choice of store credit or cold hard cash on the spot. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the selection of clothes is a joy to shop. I recently found the perfect outfit to wear to a wedding. 5 stars!

One can not understate the importance of SWOP in the world of fashion and thrift. When you enter the shop, it is like entering another world. The sound of music and laughter coaxes you in like a snake charmer, and immediately you are surrounded by an incredible array of clothing — secondhand pieces that are imbued with love and care, road tested by some of the most discerning, hip people on the planet. Yes, I am speaking about Melbournites. Often I find people from Melbourne to be insufferable snobs, but the staff at SWOP prove otherwise — down to earth, funny, hot af. What more can be said? If they sold fruit and vegetables I would do all of my shopping here.

Have been a couple of times to check out whilst waiting for a falafel or 2. The philosophy of SWOP sounds great in theory but unfortuneately not in practice. Product is overpriced and vintage a little overused…A t-shirt from H@M shouldn’t be priced at $80…Sure cut the tag but I think it’s sad that someone would pay such ludicrous price just because your marketing strategy checks all those lovely green, charity, vintage, individuality checkboxes. I guess you depend on customers that have money to spend on what they think is “cool”, you say is “cool” ; visitors from overseas and those that don’t venture out much from Collingwood…

Love this shop. Staff are always smiling and friendly. They are always so meticulous in choosing items to sell, but their stock is amazing. Unique and beautiful designer and vintage items. When you take things to sell, they may only choose a few or none of your items, but that is why their range continues to be diverse and unique. They purchase only what they know they can sell. Have found many amazing pieces here.

This place is a waste of time. I made a booking and I sent photos and sizes of my items to sell and when I was there they made me wait one hour to tell me they won’t buy my clothes because the size was too small… the people working there were arrogant, the items are overpriced to be a secondhand shop and it smells dusty and old.

The shop smelt musty, the clothing was overpriced and the staff were a bit aloof. Not a great experience.

Clothing selection in the last few months has been alright, the staff are the real let down tho. No one acknowledges you during your time in the store, and if you ask for assistance they sometimes come across annoyed. Typical trope of arrogant and pretentious consignment/boutique workers.

Used to enjoy coming here more but been a bit disappointed recently.

Absolutely love SWOP, great selection of clothes, prices are indeed higher than your usual op shop but worth it as you find good quality and stylish brands. Unfortunately I wish their staff in this particular store could be friendly instead of dismissive and arrogant. Having worked in hospitality myself I always treat everyone with respect which I did not get in return! Such a shame
