Swiss Club of Victoria reviews
23 Went and saw Cal Wilson as part of the Melbourne international comedy festival, the room we were in was hard to see past the first rows.
Not really an ideal place for an event like this, plus way too many flights of stairs.
Very authentic Swiss food, and amazing atmosphere which is also authentic. Reminds me of home.
Cheese fondue. Never fails to satisfy.
Old fashioned club diner. Could do with lowering the thermostat a tad
We had a disparate and somewhat difficult group but they coped brilliantly. With great service and food
Very pleasant group meal. Good choices and food is fresh and well prepared staff are friendly and helpful. Complimentary pot of beer on Thursdays.
Amazing food! Great Restaurant with a great atmosphere! Try the rosti! Soooooo good! Highly recommended!
As I usually lunch with a friend, I am always looking for somewhere reasonably quiet and convenient. The Swiss Club is near the top (eastern) end of Flinders Lane, on the first floor of an unprepossessing building so can be a bit difficult to find. The service is friendly and professional, the food good and the prices reasonable. Best of all, I can talk with my friends without shouting!
Old school service and quality food, you will only find places like this in Melbourne. Well worth checking out
I do like Swiss fondue.so from time to time we grab a Groupon voucher and go. The fondue is really good, and kids generally go with schnitzel. The setting is authentic and perhaps not something for everyone (I.e. Not particular on trend). But those who are after the real deal will appreciate it!
We enjoyed a lovely lunch. Everything was very nice. The staff were friendly and attentive. The chef came out to say hello. Wonderful to have in Melbourne. In fact we go back there tomorrow.
We made a booking a month ahead which wasn't held for us even though it was confirmed. The food was almost as average as the service which was inattentive and disengaged. Don't bother and save yourself the money.
Lovely traditional fondue! They were unexpectedly busy on the night of my visit due to a staff member needing to go home, but they went out of their way to make our night a good night full of tasty food.
The very definition of "an Institution"
Authentic Swiss Restaurant with Rösti and Fondue for as far as the eyes can see.
Staff are very friendly, wine list is great (2016 Majella Shiraz is on the list and is a top drop.)
Entrees are authentic, but got the sharing plate (Berner platte) and the Shared Mixed Sausages.
Decor seemed a bit out dated but friendly staff and a nice schnitzel made up for it.the chef comes out for an appearance.i thought that was nice.
Being a swiss club.one would imagine that you would be greeted in the Language of switzerland, my
husbands english is quiet poor, we were dissapointed, that we were greeted in English. I would recomend the German club, at least we were greeted in German, and the staff were friendly.
First time visiting for (early) dinner. Loved it! Cheese Fondue was amazing. The staff were great and even the chef came to visit each table to check how things were going and topped up the bread supply. We’ll definitely be back for another visit.
Authentic Swiss dining experience. You wouldn't pick you were in the middle of Melbourne CBD. Comparable to dining in a chalet in Gruyere. Excellent customer service, tasty food and good portion sizes. If you want Swiss (or just general comfort) food this is an excellent option in the CBD especially for families. If you're looking for a trendy, innovative, chic or romantic dinner, obviously there are better options all around Flinders Lane. Goes without saying, we had the cheese fondue. Nice experience but always way too much cheese most can handle. Weiner schnitzel with spatzli very satisfying and the Riz Casimir was a pleasant surprise of fruity flair!
Been coming here for year's. Love the food the vast range of Swiss beers and of course the fondue and schnitzel's. Also the best place on Friday night if you the throngs of office workers out on the piss.
The celebration for Swiss Day was lovely. Plenty of fondue, and good bread. To be really picky, some crudites would have been perfect with the cheese.
