Swan Picnic Area

Good place for large gatherings. There's a covered Bbq area with 2 electric barbeques. Another 4 nearby, uncovered. Sufficient bins in the vicinity. Small playground next to it. Public toilet nearby. Paid parking nearby $5.60 flat rate on weekends (as of Dec 2022). Should be able to find free parking too especially on weekends, within walking distance. Sweeping views of the lake with walking tracks. Can get pretty windy so consider clothing appropriately.

Quiet, Calm and soothing for a nice evening walk or jog. A very nice place to take your family for a small picnic on a weekend or evening.

This is a nice area but it has slipped and it shows. Amenities are not cleaned as often and general maintenance has slipped. The lake area is polluted quite a bit which is disappointing. From a distance it looks Lovely. Look closer. Being a city park I suppose it's somewhat to be expected but it is a pity. Otherwise nice place. I will be back and hopefully things will improve

Little area at the city end of Albert Park Lake that has a few seats and some tables. Shady and nice for a picnic on a warm day.

Beautiful spot on the lake. Great amenities. BBQ, toilets, tables and seats, under cover. Easy to get to.

Beautiful area and views. Clean BBQs, rubbish bins are near by so not taking rubbish home. Toilets are there and plenty of room for the kids to run around, also shaded.

Nice and clean area with shelter. You can picnic or bbq here. There is also a children playground next to it. The place has generally been well maintained. It gets busy on public holidays.

The dog off-lead area at the 'top' end of the park is completely inappropriate. It is a narrow strip of grass that runs very close to a very busy road and tram line. No water or rubbish facilities either.

Great spot. Sadly all 3 of us received parking fines. It is not clearly marked that it is paid parking. $258 in parking fines spoilt an otherwise good day out. Beware.

A very nice place for picnic & BBQ when Melbourne weather permits. A stroll around Albert Park Lake will entertain anybody as there's enough to see and be amused.
It does gets very busy tho so be a scout leader and come prepared.

Perfect spot for a party. Has a gazebo, water fountain, playground and toilets nearby. And the view of the lake is great.

Beautiful day out picnicking at this place. Shops close by, plenty of area for kids to run around. BBQs / BBQ area very clean, making it welcoming to cook on. Maybe need more picnic tables. Very enjoyable. Only heads up is keep a close eye on little kids as the main road is close by.

Serene place to spend time with family or friends very close to city but away from hustle and bustle. Makes you appreciate life.

The public BBQ suck. 1 has been dead for at least 6 month and the other one barely heats for a few minutes and then the temperature decreases until you can switch it back on to repeat the process. It took us 1.5 hours to cook sausages through.

This is my favourite place in Melbourne to go and celebrate with friends. I love the friendly swans and the lake!

Great place to have picnic or barbeque but barbeque stands could be increased for public use otherwise one would have to arrived early for the spot or wait.

I just loved the place. A lake at one side and greenery at the other side. Very large picnic area, along with ovens kept at multiple places for cooking. Amazing.

Great Picnic area with plenty of room for everyone. 2 bbqs available under shelter and another 4 hotplates available but without shelter. Beautiful views of the lake with swans in the area. Plenty of trees for shaded areas and public toilet facilities available. I had a suprise wedding here and the scenery was just beautiful. Close to Queens rd access. Parking meters only. Highly recommended!

Its clean.great open area with a couple of shades and benches to hangout with family and friends.
