Swan Hill Resort Functions Room reviews
7 TLDR; The worst customer service I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing at any motel or hotel.
I travel for work regularly. I've even stayed at the SHR multiple times. But I won't ever be again.
Disclaimer;
I'm a reasonable person. I'll wait for about 15 minutes before growing impatient.
And if you're friendly, apologize and perhaps give a run of the mill explanation I'll be fine with a longer wait. No problem.
Full story;
Tried calling 2 numbers from the website on the day & night of my booking. No answer & no direction to an after hours number.
Arrived the next morning;
Waited for 30+ minutes at reception (during open hours).
Used the phone provided when desk is unattended.
Called both phone numbers on the website.
(Luckily I was able to walk across the road grab a subway footlong and then keep my place in line.)
I Even found a hidden 'after hours' number behind the desk. Called that and got through to someone who said it may take 5-10 minutes for a manager to arrive.
Meanwhile the gentleman before me waited for over 45 minutes.
I was finally attended to by a disinterested woman who assumed I was a new guest and bluntly told me "it might take awhile for a room to be cleaned" well given my current experience, I don't doubt it would take a very long time.
After skipping over my key envelope twice, and ignoring my insistence it was there, she eventually found it - I finally was able to check in. No apology. No acknowledgement of the desk being unattended for 45+ minutes or phones being unanswered. Not even instructions on how to find the room.
Just vaguely mumbled "head down towards the. Thing. " - I'd had enough.
Turned and left for my room.
(Also the rooms are not compliant as the smoke alarms do not meet safety regulations being half way down the wall.)
What a joke. Give it a miss.
A great spot for a hotel albeit it has recently changed hands and is no longer an ibis styles. The property is clean and tidy but the restaurant was closed so only continental breakfast in your room was available and dinner meant a trip out. After travelling this was not ideal but everything else, including the guest laundry was good value.
Careful when you get out of the shower the tiles are slippery and you need to put down a towel to stay safe
Lovely updated rooms great breakfast included, both outdoor and indoor pools and nice and quiet, towels were replaced after our first night
Staff friendly and helpfull. Free breakfast was a lovely surprise. Room a little jaded and pillows need a upgrade.
Very average room, was a bit concerned about the safety compliance see the smoke alarm half way down the wall, see pic, the spa bath looked like it was hand painted and the paint was cracked and peeling away, won’t stay here again.
Alwzys enjoy my stay at The Resort. The staff are always very helpfull especially one receptionist named Annette! Very lovely and was very knowledgable when my daughter and I were making enquiries for her Wedding Reception we are planning later this year. An asset to this organisation. Keep up the good work and keep smiling!
