Sunshine Roller Skating Centre reviews
40Lovely place! We had an excursion with our students from our school and one of my students had an accident whikst skating here. Staff very supportive and very empathetic.
Rink is over due for a resurface. Profits over safety. Rink always over crowded. Staff can’t control the patrons who are sitting down on the rink, going the wrong way on the rink or getting new skaters to find their bearings in the learners area. Really badly managed
What a little gem of a place this is for people of all ages! My 7 yr old son loves this place as it has a very large rink in a big warehouse style setting. Great place to take the kids on school holidays and it’s relatively inexpensive. Sessions are normally 2 hours but you get lots of fun, lots of music and they do game competitions on the rink! There’s even a little practice area off the rink for beginners who are a bit shy and want to learn for the first time. It also has a small kids gaming area.
Any chance of a reflooring of the rink? The badly bogged up cracks are trip hazards and not fun to skate on.
Old School roller-skating rink. This place hasn't changed much since I used to skate here as a teen in the late 90s. Hire skate/blades or buy, or BYO! There's food available at the cafe too. Staff are attentive. Will continue to return with my kids.
The facility is excellent, the staff is very polite and helpful, real gems and never a dull moment. I will highly recommend Sunshine Roller Skating centre. Thank you for the memorable experience in our girls birthday celebration today.
Too noisy. You guys inflicting damage to the kid’s ears. Turn the music down by half. At least
This place has not changed in 25 + years. Was my favorite place as a kid and is just as popular today.
I do believe it needs upgrading and to add a ramp and few more skating options rather than just a circle.
Other than that 25 yrs later i still put on blades and had a ball
Certainly brought back memories. Staff are friendly, great fun for the whole family. Will be coming back again.
I booked a party and paid for 10 kids. The day of the party, 14 kids arrived. I informed them and asked to add on and pay for the 4 extra kids. At food time I was given a bowl of chips and sausage rolls to serve myself. No 4 extra plates. So I went up and asked and the manager told me that the kids parties are for either 10 or 20 kids and if I have more than 10, they should all be able to share the food and they can't give me extra. I asked if I was paying for food for the 4 extra kids? She said yes but was unable to give me more food for them. She eventually rolled her eyes and gave me some cold chips for them. Not to mention the 35 minute wait in the line for the kids to get skates which of course came off their 1.5 hour parry time. Then to top.off the end of the parry, one of our kids is happily skating away and bang.one of his wheels come.flying off and he hits the deck. His father takes the broken skate up and his son who is hurt and is told "oh sorry". The kid then sat there doing nothing for the remainder of the party. Terrible experience. Terrible management and defi Italy not worth the money we paid.
When I got there it looked sketchy at first because of the sign but inside looked fine. The rollerskates the ones I got were old and not in good condition since it was pretty dead but it was ok. The place it self was ok there wasn't a lot of people when I went. Food was ok but expensive and staff not many of them but they are nice. I would go again if it was a little cleaner and better rollerskates while better food for the people.
Not a bad place has a learning to skate area for all ages which is great and a little arcade for the non skaters.
I booked to learn how to roller skate for the first time and when I arrived at the centre the receptionist lady was lovely and doing a great job, she oriented me to the place, went to get my hired gear for skating and the young man was also really good with his job.
However when it came to our instructor Cheryl she totally ignored my presence and did not even want to talk to me. She talked to another customer who noticed how much Cherly ignored me and mentioned that I was also there to learn how to roller skate. In a lukewarm kind of environment, she explained that I had to literally use one hand on the rail and try and take some steps to have the feel. I was almost on edge of complaining and leaving the place but I thought I took the effort to get out of bed, I would rather continue and give it ago.
Amanda who is another instructor joined in and I must say she is really good at what she does, she makes customers feel comfortable and gives some tips on how to roller skate. Thank you Amanda for your time.
Cheryl, did you have a problem with me because I am black? I have been in this country for a long time and I have never ever felt discriminated against but this morning you made me think twice. I deal with people every day in my job and all I see are people, not their background or colour. There is no need for that attitude Cheryl, customers irrespective of their background are there to be served and not asking for a lot.
The place is well set up and even though I had a rough start with Cheryl I enjoyed learning the basics of roller skating. I normally do not write reviews but I felt the need to voice this out.
Its okay, I have been a few times with friends and I always have fun but one of the staff that gave me my roller-skates was pretty rude and moody.same with another staff, I had dropped my wallet on the floor of the rink and while I was struggling to get it (I'm not the best skater) she kinda just stood there? And didn't help? When it was very obvious that I was struggling? - it was pretty embarrassing actually.all though, the food is pretty good and the music isn't too bad and you'll probably have a good time with some friends/family none the less
They have Saturday morning training session class …i dont understand how they call it lesson classes …the instructor is very rude unfriendly and they dont teach any thing except show off
Instead of of teaching just show off want to show you what they can do…. And need to change old instructors by young ones…. Bad experience for me.
Had a blast with my friends. Would recommend it to anyone interested in wanting to go out Roller Skating or Roller Blading. Loved the heads and tails game too. I think I cheated lol. Has a great time nonetheless.
Great place to go with the kids or friends very friendly staff, thanks guys for allowing us to hold our Memory Skate for Michael White there you did an amazing job looking after us all, It was very special night for all his family and old skate buddies xo
Awesome place to have fun for all ages. Friendly staff, good skate shop and near new hire skates. Fun games and activities and perfect place to have a birthday party.
Fantastic venue, friendly staff and great choice of hot fast food at reasonable prices. The only negative iis the games, we come here to skate not to play games and spend time not skating waiting for games to finish. It an accident waiting to happen, getting off and on the skating area is extremely annoying.
We had my daughter’s 8th birthday party at Sunshine Roller Skating Centre. It was a really great! The kids had the best time. The staff were friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.
