Sunshine Charcoal Chicken

Visiting sunshine charcoal chicken is like going to the casino. Sometimes you get the best charcoal chicken ever, but I’ve never been a lucky guy and seems like I always get the bad ones, but like an addict I’m hopeful that I’ll get a good one next time

The worst chicken roll that I've ever had. The chicken was dry and the roll was terribly stale. I would have returned it and asked for my money back if I wasn't already in the car when I had my first bite. The rest went in the bin. A chicken gave their life for this rubbish. Lucky I had enough foresight to buy a drink to help wash it down.

The food is very well portioned. And when restaurants promote this it often means it is a small amount of food but today and every other day is amazing and is value for money at its finest. As you can get 1/4 chicken and chips for only $10 and fairdinkum they give a lot of chicken for a container or plate. Although the customer service isn't the best due to the busyness of the store the food is the best and is an amazing classic spanish chicken taste as it sweet and has a classic charcoal taste. I'd be happy to choose this place over KFC any day of the week and this is easily my top charcoal chicken shop.

Worst customer service in the world if your not a regular you’ll be pushed aside and made to wait while everyone around you gets their order and when I said something I was meet with hostility. I tried to explain I was in a rush too and I was told I shouldn’t be getting take away before my daughter surgery tonight (which is none of her business and I have every right to get myself food when we travelled all this way! This place is disgusting and treat people with such a horrible manner I will never buy food from here

I really love their Spanish chicken and chips. Don't leave the chips for too long though as they seem to not be as good when eaten later.

I love the fact that the whole bbq chicken was served fast, as plenty of chicken are being bbq all at once, all the time. Elsewhere, we always have to wait around a long time, as they are out of cooked chooks. The fresh crispy chicken was also good. The calamari and chips, were a generously served high on the plate.

This place is beyond rude, I asked for the ingredients and the worker had the audacity to tell me to not eat from their menu if i don’t know what it is.

The reason I’m asking was because I don’t want to purchase and eat something I’m unfamiliar with.

Must be new owners or something. The quality has gone down a lot since I was here last time. The chips used to be probably the best in town crunchy on the outside fluffy on the inside. The gravy used to be quite tasty now it’s full of lumps thin and it’s strangely sweet tasting. Very offputting

Staff are so rude and the food is disgusting. Please wash your hands after touching money… if you want good food, do NOT eat here.

Quick service and always busy crowds ensure the food turn over is high and hence fresh. You simply can't get better value or better tasting chicken and chips. The chicken is always well done and the chips are never stale or soggy. We've been coming here for 12 years and the food is always consistently good.

Usually very solid but quality has dropped last few times. Staff also seem less friendly as of late, cheer up guys - service matters.

Ordered quarter chicken and chips, breast piece. The chicken is nice and chips are very good, but i think i got a rooster breast because it was tiny, there was hardly any meat.

Would normally give the place 4 stars, but over the years quality has been slipping. (Gave me burnt overcooked chicken last time i went) Normally a go to spot for me, which i would come back but will make sure to get something that isnt burnt.
Quality isnt as good as 15 years ago and have been further slipping more and more.
Most of the time the spanish chicken is extremely flavourful and juicy. Great spot for lunch

Creamy chicken with mushroom was disgusting and a waste of my money. Stay away from this dish people.

I can definitely see what the hype around their Spanish chicken is about! Definitely succulent and sweet, and just the right amount of char. Prices were fair too. The gravy on chips just wasn’t for me. Could taste a an umami/ mushroom or celery undertone in the gravy and was definitely filled with salt. Definitely an institution in the west for charcoal chicken.

Was my first time trying this place for lunch today, and honestly, this was the best Chicken I have ever had. Period.
We even brought a whole Chicken home for Dinner.

We don't usually travel to Sunshine as we live in the Northern Suburbs, but we will definitely come back for more for sure!

Chips were cold and old. The spicy Spanish chicken is simply the chicken brushed with chilli sauce. I remember a different quality and taste. Very disappointed

I think this place must sell thousands chicken a days lovely tasting Charcoal chicken with honey sauce, the chicken is good size not too big not too small great tasting the filet the skin in deep charcoal. Unbelievable. This place will not disappoint, value for money and will leave you licking your fingers
