Sunbury Aquatic and Leisure Centre

This swim centre is fairly good. Its a pity the outdoor 50 metre pool is not open all year round as its great to swim in. The indoor 25 metre pool is not great for lap swimming as its hot, the roof is too low & it can be congested. The indoor change rooms are weird, as from memory the showers/toilet are in a separate room to where you actually change.

In essence, when the 50 metre pool is open this place is fine, however the 25 m indoor pool is not up to scratch for lap swimming. The only pool in the area with a good indoor & outdoor 50 metre pool is in melton.

Basically with growing populations outer suburban councils really need to develop really good pool facilities.

Most pools on the fringes of Melbourne do not meet current community standards.

In the case of sunbury their facilities are better than most however they should try & promote the outdoor 50 metre pool so it can be open all year round.

The staff are always friendly and professional, but the facilities are always in disrepair. Hume City Council have 'allegedly' poured millions of dollars into this facility, throwing good money after bad with nothing to show for it. After all the renovations and money spent - the pools still leak, the paint is peeling off, it still looks old, nothing works, it's dysfunctional, and more importantly - most likely a public health hazard. Local residents and visitors deserve better - and where's the money really going?

Good place and very nice staff. Wish there were more facilities like in places such as Broadmeadows and Caroline Springs or even Gisborne and Keilor. Time for the Council to put their act together.

Would not be able to carry out these important excersises without the use of SALC.

Fantastic facility only negative I would give is that the hot pool / therapy pool / spa close at 7: 30pm when the rest of the centre remains open. People who commute to melbourne for work and need this pool don’t get much time before it closes

Unfortunately as much as I like it, I have caught a flu like virus twice in2 months. Being house bound must be pool. Difficult to find a dry area to change, too many kids

The outdoor pool is great, the staff are lovely, but the indoor pool is hotter than the surface of the sun. Would love if the outdoor pool was open during winter.

Went to spend time with my sister, her kids had fun in the pools while we caught up poolside. We watched how much fun the aquaerobics looked. Very clean

Negatives:
Unfortunately the Indoor pool just keeps getting worse. The water temp is absolutely cranked up to something close to 30 degrees which is just unbearable for any actual lap swimming. The visibility on some occasions is also a big problem, on some visits it’s been so cloudy I can’t see beyond 10 metres.

Positives:
The staff are always nice, friendly and professional. The outdoor 50m pool over summer is always in good condition. Just wish it was open more often.

Please please just turn down the temperature on the indoor lap pool. It shouldn’t be a warm water pool when there’s one right next to it.

So we turned up here for a casual visit to the Gym. $28. She said " The prices have gone up inline with all the other gyms".

You are a council owned, taxpayer built and funded gym, you should be pro iding this at a much lower rate than the local private gyms (which do infact, cost less for a casual session than your gym).

Disgusting that taxpayer built and funded amenities are now used as a money driven big business!

First class establishment of a recreational facility, managed and maintained by amazing and knowledgeable staff. Sessions there highly recommended for all.

Staff are always friendly, polite and try their best to be accommodating.

Recently they have fixed the shower in the spa and steam room area. It took less than two weeks after they were made aware of how badly it was operating.

Great outdoor large lap pool, medium pool for young kids, and baby pool- all outdoors with lots grass and covered areas. Price is most reasonable I've seen anywhere! Usually not very busy. Great staff! Big indoor warm pool open all year with metal bench seating running along entire perimeter of pool. Really well done for a facility that's been around a few years.
Never disappoints!

A very good facility with responsive and attentive staff. Facilities are clean, safe and very reliably maintained.

I have visited Broadmeadows, Craigieburn and Sunbury, Staff in Sunbury very rude and need to go to kindergarten to learn how to speak to people with respect.
Pools always full, so you pay membership to swim at least twice a week and always full or booked for training.
Why you taking memberships if you don't have a space?

Great place, safety paramount and staff are very responsive and conscientious. I feel safe knowing they are always watching, although I try to be as careful as I can also. The swim teachers are amazing and so good at working with young people and very attentive in conveying the importance of technique in swimming and safety above all else. Very impressive all round. Front counter staff have amazing skills with people and the experience from start to finish at SALC is top notch on any given day. Facilities are clean and well maintained. I haven't seen all there is, but many classes are run there and there are gym facilities too.

Always pleasant staff and clean grounds at the outside pool, they have a wellness garden which I think everyone would agree we definitely need that through our Pandemic
