SUMAC - Lebanese Bakery Cafe reviews
51They do the "zaatar on saaj" which is very thin crust omg this is amazing. I haven't had it like that at any other lebanese bakery
Will be a return customer The food, the atmosphere and service were amazing! Highly recommend ️
Excellent cafe experience. Food was delicious, healthy and well presented. Staff very friendly and professional. Highly recommend
My recent visit made me go here again and again. I love the food.
One of the best breakky place and amazing Hot choc/coffee.
My favourite: Spicy potato and Chicken and Mushroom pie, Plain Zaatar and in mains i love the scambled egg with salad (Shakshuka) and also Shanklish.
Had a great dine in and take away experience and amazing staff.
Thankyou guys.
With no doubt, the best Lebanese cafe in the area and the bakery varieties makes you come back for more over and over again! The terrific customer service is the pickled cherry on top
Sumac is home style cooking super quality and amazing value for money… the best is their coffees made by the barista Albert️
One of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in Melbourne. The falafel is a must try and highly recommended. The service is friendly and warm.
This place makes my morning! The food is beautiful, always warm & Fresh.
The Coffee is always the way I like it and the zahtar is number one with all the other bread!
Great customer service, friendly & welcoming!
Super tasty Lebanese food in a small setting. The food is made fresh and super tasty. Variety of Lebanese pizza vegetarian, meat, seafood and specially Za'atar pizza. The salads, fouls and dips are super tasty.
It was such a wonderful experience especially coming from Darwin where I ca not find these kind a delicious food. Well done to the friendly staff. I strongly recommend this cafe
Let me first say that the staff were busy and understaffed but were working hard. Unfortunately I apparently came to have lunch on a busy day. I was told that I should have ordered ahead. Waited 30 minutes for my order that I believe hadn't started to make. I did leave the shop as 35 minutes had past and I had to go back to work with no lunch. So people please order over the phone before hand otherwise expect a long wait time for your order.
Order a couple time from here, both times it was delivered tasted great, kids loved it especially
Having grown up in the Middle East, Lebanese Food is something I dearly loved and adored specially Zaatar and Halloumi. Finally was able to find a joint in Australia that served these and boy are they delicious. They are cheap and fill your tummy.
I am still to try other items on Sumac’s menu but am sure they are great too.
The staff is nice and friendly too which makes me visit them over and over.
Ordered through uber and got the falafel wrap. I was worried it wouldn’t be enough because it looked a bit small in the picture but once it arrived I was happy to see it was way bigger than I had anticipated. The falafel were soft and full of flavour, and there were a LOT of them. Not a single inch of the wrap was left unfilled. Couple that with its affordable price and you’ve got a return customer in me:)
Great Lebanese and middle eastern food and easy on the pocket. Must try if you're in this part of town.
On very short notice I arranged catering with Sumac for a family get together yesterday.
My friends and family were so impressed with the food prepared by Nabil and his staff.
I arranged pick up late in afternoon and the food was freshly prepared so much so It was still being prepared/finished just as I arrived.
The quality, freshness and taste was superb.
The quantity was extremely generous and we gave family left overs and we have dinner for tonight as well.
Can recommend Sumac to anybody who wants traditional Lebanese food of the highest quality.
Thanks Nabil, much appreciated.
Best pitas ever - My family and I cannot get enough of the delicious spinach and cheese pitas. Deserving of 5 stars. Well done Sumac team!
Best bakery in town. Fresh food, amazing coffee, so cheap and the people there are the best. I go there everyday for a small bite and a coffee
Delicious food that was fresh and tasty, kids also loved it so we'll definitely be back!
Usually Lebanese cuisine is full of flavours. This one however, was not.
Incidentally, nothing I had (meat skewer, chicken skewer, tabbouli) had any flavour, they simply were tasteless.
The rice? I don't know what was that, I think the restaurant is confused about its identity, whether to be a Lebanese restaurant or something else. The hummus? Getting one from a supermarket is better.
Overall, the experience was not enjoyable, the food was tasteless and will not be paying this place another visit.
