We enjoyed everything we ordered except the fried chicken. Love the 10 different banchan (side dishes)

Incredibly authentic Korean food served in big portions. So many banchan (side dishes) served, more than any Korean restaurant I’ve been to. All of the dishes were good however the standouts were: ddeok galbi (rice cake wrapped in beef ribs), fried chicken, doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and jokbal (braised pork hock). If you like tofu you must order it as well. Delicious and great service!

Really homey atmosphere and delicious Korean food. The chef came out and explained to us how to eat the pork belly and was very passionate about the food! Will definitely be back. I especially enjoyed the big selection of banchan (side dishes)

Wonderful authentic Korean, with nice ambience inside to give a cosy feel! Highly recommended!

Not sure if the chef was changed. The food I got last night was nowhere the same quality as before. Corn cheese was dry, fried chicken tasted like it was reheated, dry and still raw inside. 2 stars because of the previous good experience. But won't be coming back again.

Edit: We have since revisted, they have changed to QR code ordered which was awesome. One of the younger waitresses was a little bit unfriendly when we accidentally ordered the small milkis and wanted to change to the larger one. I have updated this review back to 4 stars from 1. Really hope to visit again soon!

I love this place and didn’t want to give it a negative review because the food is genuinely so delicious. But today’s service was appalling. We had to ask for the ordering sheet, had to ask for cutlery, had to ask for bowls, had to ask for rice, had to ask for an extra one single stick of chopstick because the waitress didn’t give us the correct amount, had to get our own water, had to ask the waitress to help us clear some empty plates from our table despite her seeing them as she was talking to us, had to wait 30 min for our table despite booking because the waitress messed up and seated people at the wrong tables.

If you’re delivering food to a table and you notice they have no cutlery or bowls isn’t it common sense to get some? The waitress just walked despite noticing this and we were essentially micromanaging the waitresses the entire meal.

It’s such a shame because I was in the other day as well with my friend and we had such a wonderful experience.

I noticed the sign at the reception counter that said staff are doing their best and it gave us the impression the two younger waitresses are very new and people have also had similar experiences but lost their patience.

A better system for booking and a better system for which plate of food belongs to which table would be better. It’s not a good look having a waitress walk to a table, the table say it’s not their food and the waitress going to the counter to look up which table the food belongs. It’s not hygienic wandering around the restaurant with food.

It was my dad’s birthday dinner and we chose Suga and it was a disappointment. The food was and will always be top notch but service needs some serious management.

It's a very "korean" Korean restaurant which the whole shop is ran by Korean. I like the kimchi stew there.

Been here twice and unfortunately I don't believe it deserves the 4.3 star rating.

The side dishes and the kim chi are fantastic.

But I didn't enjoy the other mains such as Japchae with beef that could have passed for vegetarian.

Just seemed like the chefs didn't care.

The service by the lone waitress was good. She was run off her feet.

Tried it twice, don't think I'll give it another go considering the number of other Korean restaurants in the area. It's a shame as I want all restaurants to do well.

The banchan (side dishes) were great. Pretty sure they make their kimchi in-house and it was super delicious. The fried chicken tasted really good, however they could improve on the crunchiness. The baby octopus wasn’t what I was expecting, was expecting it in tteokbokki sauce but it was pretty average and same for the cold noodles.

Wouldn’t be in a rush to come but open to trying it again and ordering other food

Have been here for many times. Quality has not changed for a long long time.very high. Army stew is my favorite. Service is good and friendly. Roomy place. Can be a little pricey just like many other Korean restaurant. Make sure to make a booking. And if you want someone to answer your call, ring when they are open. They don't have a very effective messaging system. Overall, highly recommended.

Solid Korean restaurant with a good range in the menu and in the handful of banchan. On a cold, rainy night, the stews were piping hot and full of flavor. Some restaurants mainly use gochugaru (pepper flakes), but Suga had a great depth to the taste. The budaejigae (army stew) also comes in a single serve, which helps so that we can try other dishes. We'll definitely be back to try the BBQ, the soondobu (tofu stew), and the bossam (pork belly).

Parking is a bit tough on a somewhat busy street and booking is strongly recommended because they have limited hours and capacity, but the staff hustle to do their best to serve.

My whole family loves this place. Great selections on the menu, and food are just yummy. Dad loves the pork hock. My family has already planned for the next visit as soon as we stepped out the door.

Awesome korean cuisine in town. They practice healthy and safety protocols while keeping the waiting time reasonably low. All the food tasted great. Highly recommended.

They serve good, wholesome Korean food. Dishes I tried tasted like my mum's. I would say most authentic Korean food I have had in Melbourne. (Their mandoo and donkatsu are made in-house and really good!) Serving size and prices are reasonable compared to other Korean restaurants around. My new go-to Korean restaurant and would recommend to anyone who appreciates real Korean flavours.

Not fancy, but nicely decorated. The food is beautifully presented, tastes great, in ample portions. (I struggled to finish the pork katsu.) Bonus little side dishes if you eat in! Wish we'd found it much earlier.
