Best dining experience, full on a Thursday night, the food is next level, oysters, croquettes, calamari salad, pasta, the chef needs a pay rise, and the service, Christian, Issy and Vince took care of me so well. 10/10 would highly recommend.

I was so looking forward to catching up with family i hadnt seen for a while, but we were constantly interupted by the man who had a grey moustache. He ws continually touching my arms and back i felt uncomfortable. At the end of our meal when i wanted to leave and wait outside for my family members i tried to opened the door the same man pushed it shut telling me to wait inside even though i told him i needed fresh air. He was swilling down wine touching my arms. The whole expierience left a bitter taste in my mouth. Dont they have an HR person updating the staff on whats appropriate.

Absolutely outstanding in every way! The staff were incredible, we weren’t rushed in any shape or form. We learnt about the food and the wine, absolutely everything was beyond sensational! I cannot wait to go back for more! All the dishes we had we 10/10! Such a great atmosphere too! Thankyou Sud team, you are too tier!

The service and food was amazing. We had the Lamb Gnocchi and Pork Rigatoni it was full of flavour. We will definitely be back again.

We definitely can say that we felt at home in Sud restaurant! The food was super such as Riccardo and Vincenzo hosting. We certainly recommend to have a dinner here and enjoy an Italian night!

It was our 1st time to Sud to celebrate my son's birthday. From the moment we entered to when we left, the service level from the team was simply amazing. I can't find this type of service in many restaurants, even so called michelin restaurants. The food, wine & dessert were also very good. We will definitely be back. Kudos to Sud Food & Wine. Keep it up.

It's a nice little fancy Italian restaurant. Service was exceptional - very friendly staff all round, from their sommelier, to their waiters, even the chef individually plated our mains as we decided we would share one of them between the 3 of us (in addition to other entrees). Everything was delicious! The place may feel small, but it's big on character, a very welcoming and happy place to complement the wonderful meals ️

I wanted place to take my wife on a romantic dinner and we got it what a night.
Food was amazing and the staff fantastic, seriously if you want a great night out with your partner or wife go.

Too many loud family members dining at this restaurant makes it a less intimate Place than it could be. Bone in sirloin steak was over $50 and came unaccompanied on the plate. We asked for some green veg, a small bowl of beans was $14. Ouch! Then the loudmouth owner came over and started calling me Bella. I'm not your wife or mistress. Have manners and settle down. We're not all your Itie mates. The first waiter that served us was a pure gentleman. I felt embarrassed for him to see his boss on such a power trip.

It was by chance that we stumbled upon this little gem on our first night in Melbourne. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff with a sense of humour. The food matched the quality of the service, we had a wonderful night, I highly recommend this restaurant.

This is hands down the best restaurant in Melbourne. I’ve been here multiple times and every time the food is incredibly good and the hospitality is amazing. Vince the owner is one of a kind and only interested in making sure your meal and night is perfect and memorable. We will be coming back for years to come. Come here ASAP.

My wife and I had a very enjoyable dinner at SUD on a Friday night. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, a precursor to very friendly and attentive service all night. The menu has plenty of choices and our server assisted us with our selection. Their description of the quail special convinced us to try that. The wine list had plenty of quality Australian options but we decided to try an Italian wine. I could recognise a few varieties but our server was very helpful asking us what we liked about wines and then making a recommendation which on tasting delighted us. The food arrived at regular intervals and everything was excellent, particularly the quail dish. The accompanying sourdough was lovely and we ate too much of it, using it to wipe up the excess sauce on our plates. We finished off by sharing the chocolate pyramid dessert with coffee. Overall an outstanding dining experience.

Extremely friendly service from the owner and one of his long time waiters/sommeliers. The meal was nearly perfect with the only exception of the veal that was slight salty, but the rest of the dishes we ordered were superb, reminding me of meals I have enjoyed in Italy. One suprise of the night was the buffalo mozzarella. I could have eaten two of these dishes alone! Worth a revisit.

Small restaurant with a big personality. Food offering is always reliable and the choice of wine to accompany the food or match your taste is as interesting. Vincenzo, thank you. Your restaurant is one of the best Italian restaurants in Melbourne. No pretense, just good food, good wine and great service!

Post covid, SUD has relocated to 555 Lonsdale St. Place looks so much better than the old Bergerac. I can't wait to dine here again. Will be back soon!

The food is exceptional (leave room for the Tiramisu!), the staff are perfect and effortless and Vincenzo (owner) is a person you can trust to recommend a great wine with the meal. In fact Vincenzo is worth the price of the meal alone! He's old school welcoming, hospitable and truly cares for your enjoyment. The wine he recommended was exceptional!

Amazing food and service. Top notch restaurant. Hands down best ravioli I've had in australia so far.
