Strathmore Secondary College reviews
19Honestly speaking, this might be one of the MOST horrible schools I’ve ever been to. Not trying to be biased or dramatic, but it’s just straight up bad. I went to the Victorian Space Science Education Centre, for a school excursion, and I get kids are being kids, but the AUDACITY for the high schoolers to vape in front of me and my classmates. Like I get every school always has kids vaping, but shouldn’t they have a sense of logic that they shouldn’t be doing it in front of other students, who are especially YOUNGER than them? Adding to this, the high schoolers were making out, like a full on kissing session, in front of us. I know 100%, that they knew that we were there. Again, I understand that every school has this type of problem, but this is just straight up disgusting. I feel like the teachers aren’t even doing anything about whatever there students are doing. Never visiting again, I don’t recommend it.
Supportive teacher and green environment and some students is nasty and effects other students
Second term of first year my friend left the school because he was going to be beaten for being trans. He has long hair, he isn’t trans. The girl are absolutely brutal and you get bullied for every little thing, half the teachers don’t take initiative and don’t bother to tell the students off, say they are ‘no bullying’ but only turn their heads for bad grades. Their ‘counselling’ is horrible and they lie about not telling your family. Please, for you’re child’s well-being, don’t send them to this horrible school. It has brought my friends and i nothing but annoyance towards school. The only i enjoy about school is my group of weird (like me) friends. Just don’t send children here, please.
My little boy loves playing basketball. In primary school, he would enjoy spending his lunch break shooting hoops with his friends. Access to a basketball ring or rings is a common item to have at schools, right? I would think so.
Wrong!
Just found out the school don't allow kids to play basketball at all during their lunch break, let alone any break.
Asked my son. "So what do you do during lunch? " Answer, "we are only allowed to walk and sit" Disappointed parent
FIRE THE LUNCH LADY.
This school is bad, at the canteen, its super crowed and takes like 20 minutes just to get your food, super small and the lunch lady is crazy. Me and my friends had 14 dollars in total and what we ordered was a cookie and two beef noodles, thats like 11.50 dollars and the lunchlady had teh audacity to say we were 2.50 money short, like this is so unprofessional, ahe shoudld fired and she is old btw And she was supoosed to say we get 2.50 change but said we were short on money, which made my friend sad bc she wasnt able to get her food and we had the money but the lunch lady said we didnt have enough
ALSO FIRE MISS PEZZIMENTI BRAH
Concentration camp tier school. I am glad I didn't pass the exam, because if I did, I would have had to go to this school. I am glad I stayed at Strathmore High because I would have been racism'd at this school due to being white. I had a white mate at this school, he ate in the hallways once, got a detention and was called a dropkick and bullied until he gassed himself. Attached is a photo of what the kids at this school read everyday and ponder why they ever went to this school.
They provide SO MANY opportunities and the teachers are always telling me to do my best and to be whatever I want in life and the teachers are very inspiring.
Unfortunately this school has gone down hill. Needs new culture. Lots of change needed. Starts from the top.
AWESOME SCHOOL!
Did my year 12 at this wonderful school back in 1984 (yes, I feel old) the teaching staff was amazing, even back then the facilities were great and it was a wonderful time in my life I will forever remember. Even managed to pass year 12 with honours! Just an outstanding high school all around oops I mean secondary College but I’m sure you get the picture?
This schools canteen is food poisoning. My friend Miller had aids for the whole week. The food they give is rotten.
Finished year 12 at year 2004. Love this school as an old student. Maybe things has changed as the school gets old just like me. Love those teaches when I study there, very responsible and the principle Mrs Kuger. Hope everyone is happy and healthy. All the best
Looking for a school? Look no further than strathmore. The teachers are horrible and the facilities are second to everyone.
New crispy chicken pretzel fries at burger King crunchy pretzel on the outside tender juicy white meat chicken inside New crispy pretzel chicken fries, and it's only at burger king!
Not to good not too bad. Just a average school. As compared to other schools in northern suburbs. This is what u can expect in government college.
“Don’t send your kids to this school, my son came back from school everyday and he kept saying ‘praise our holly god the great English ’ so I decided to investigate further. Little did I know they were running a cult in the gym
Big Chungas does not like this school its a hunk like Pauls 4 Speed Auto fake xr6.this school needs better everything
This school has no airconditioning which is a disappointment for all during summer, and during spring the trees give off a terrible scent that triggers nausea and hay fever, gross.
Strathmore is blinded when you get grades which consider as not “passing, ” but as soon as you’re not wearing the complete uniform correctly you’re shunned.
This high school’s classrooms are appalling. Cracked ceilings, dusty window sills, and peeling paint everywhere. Not clean at all for an apparently great public/government school. They enrol more kids than what they can handle, forcing more classrooms to be built up and further away from the spread out classroom areas.
Do not recommend this school especially for those who maybe need to receive more help from staff, because they do not appear willing to lend a hand helping those who need extra support to succeed.
Only few teachers are amazing and the rest look like they do not want to be in this school. The system in terms of VCE are alright, they tried to follow the study guides but the after school SACs is ridiculous because some students do not have the privilege to get picked up by their parents and have to walk home at night. The VCE coordinators are the worst in this school, they have no intention in helping the students whatsoever. I understand it is hard to be a coordinator, but when I needed few helps with some really simple stuff, none of the staff try at least listen let alone trying to solve the problem, they simply say "sorry we can’t do that" for literally EVERYTHING.
Hard to give a review without my kids actually going here yet. But living 500 meters from the school we have called and tried to make an appointment for an open day but have been rejected as our child is still in grade 5. She suggested we visit on the weekend and walk around while no one is there. We have actually done that and the school is very run down and most of the time dirty. Not to mention the open day times are at 8.45am? Anyone going to an open day has kids in primary school and will be taking them to school at this time?
Both times we have called the person on the phone has been very rude. Same attitude in the emails we have received. Rude and Blunt. Having grown up in the area I know that this school has been living on its reputation for 30 years.
But the attitude of the staff sums it up for us so we will probably look elsewhere.
Leadership comes from the top and based on the few interactions we have had it seems very poor. Get your act together!
