Stix & Stones of Lower Plenty

Come on guys….

This review is more for the management.
Firstly I hate giving bad reviews, often they are unfair - in this case I’ll let management be the judge.

It’s not worth 1 star, maybe 2…but the 1 star is to get attention!

Let’s start with THE FACT the menu on your website is TOTALLY different to what is given to you on the table, printed on an A4 piece of paper!
This includes the beverage list - 90% is different.
Mocktails, cocktails, nothing the same.

Secondly the menu is ok…but nothing fancy!
The decor is great in the restaurant, that’s a plus!

The bar is grossly understocked, and using cheap spirits to make mixed drinks.
The girls are making drinks from their iPhones, because they don’t know how to make a martini!

The staff were GREAT…they are all doing great work, under the pump.
VERY helpful!

This is a management issue, not a staff issue.

I appreciate times are a little tough, but they restaurant was 2/3 full…clearly doing well.

Guys…PLEASE, do your staff and the restaurant the service and justice it deserves.
It’s a good place, lots of potential - but at the moment, it’s very underrated!

Place is very well lit and atmosphere is modern and cozy.
The two things that really took us off our senses is first the portion sizes, extremely small and second the small variety in menu selection.
Ordered the entree Beetroot but it’s shocking absurd:) as well as the other plates are more a decoration that quantity.
Won’t come back. It’s a shame

Just pub meals at a way more expensive price. Sorry but Eltham Hotel does the experience just as well so I’d recommend you go there instead.

Amazing food, top notch service even better deserts and the ambience is just so cozy and luxe yet very family oriented, totally recommend this gem. You cannot miss their steaks or cheesecake divine!

Came here for dinner to celebrate my parents. Food was hit and miss. Pasta was great, however the lamb shoulder was half fat, cold and not very edible.

Staff were not very good at taking our order - the waitress didn’t repeat our order when taking it and she got the order wrong and forgot our sides. When food was brought to the table they didn’t ask if that was all and then didn’t come near us for quite awhile so it was 20+ mins before we were able to get their attention. We had eaten by then and we’re not interested in having the sides by then.
Wouldn’t go back and won’t recommend this place

Absolutely the best restaurant, Great range of foods and it’s all delicious, fantastic environment as well.

Booked in online and got sent a confirmation the day before. Went there and the gates were closed. Why was the online booking system still on, and why was I sent an email to confirm? Not good.

Used to love Stix & Stones. Booked 2 tables for my husbands 80 th birthday party last year and paid a deposit but they had a roof leak and had to cancel. No return of deposit after asking numerous times. I see they reopened but obviously don’t want to return deposits! I ended up booking Vibrante in Templestowe at the last minute. So disappointed with Stix & Stones. We are pensioners and couldn’t afford to lose that money. Vibrante was fabulous!

Thank you very much for a lovely evening. The young lady at reception accommodated our request to sit a little distance from other diners as we were rather cautious in light of having our 96 year old mother with us, and that was done politely without any fuss. The food was very good as was the service. It was the first time we'd been to the restaurant but it certainly won't be the last. Thanks again.

Excellent food combined with friendly, efficient service. I was the designated driver and apparently my companions cocktails were delicious.

Went here Saturday night. No checking of QR code or vaccination status. Restaurant not adhering to density rules. Place was crowded. Many staff not wearing masks. We felt very uncomfortable. Other restaurants are following the rules even though it impacts their business obviously these people feel they are above this.

The day before New Years Eve, booking gets cancelled without an explanation. Turns out they’re not open for New Years… So, why would you take our booking a week prior?
Thanks for leaving us hanging until the day before NYE and then canceling, leaving us high and dry. Zero Stars.

Highly recommend. 5th time back here. The food here is great and the staff are really accommodating. Very family friendly. Shout out to the waiter an waitress we had tonight, they were super helpful. (Redballon voucher)

Haven't been for some time and decided to try this place again which use to be ok.
Food was very average to say the least. Reasonably expensive too. We both didn't finish our meals.
So disappointed.

Love the vibes at this place, and at night the restaurant is simply beautiful. The heating outside is great, we were not cold at all despite the chilly night. Food is great and service is good also
