Asked a query about a turntable they had listed for sale online via email. They quickly sent me back a couple photos of the box (good) which confirmed it wasn't what I was looking for. I thanked them for their time & said it wasn't the colour i'm looking for, as it wasn't what was listed on their site. Their reply; "Same thing"

I needed advice on adding in a subwoofer to an existing setup and Vic from Stereophonic didn't just help with the decision making process but went above and beyond to ensure I had what I needed to get the outcome I was after.

Really appreciate the customer focused mindset and down to earth approach to service. The audio industry can be extremely opinionated and abrasive, so it was a welcome change from other experiences I have had.

I can highly recommend this company to anyone that wants reliable advice in navigating their way to the right choice for them.

Amazing, honest, customer service. Forget who I talked to, but he was very passionate about hifi and generous with his time. He actually recommended I buy a product from another store based on my personal circumstances. Will be coming back here next time I'm in the market for a hifi set up.

Would highly recommend Victor and his team at Stereophonic without any hesitation!

I always seem to come back to Victor at Stereophonic when looking to upgrade or purchase a new piece of audio equipment. He has a great range of equipment to suit your specific needs and budget. You can always ensure that Victor is selling a great product as he often reviews his product range to ensure you get great value and a great product. Unlike sales people at other stores, Victor has a friendly, “no pushy” attitude towards his customers – you never feel pressured to make a purchase.

After sales service has been great too. Had to return a turntable for a repair and had no hassles in getting it repaired in a timely manner. In fact, the person who serviced the turntable went beyond just repairing the initial fault, but also performed a general service as well at no added cost.

Keep up the great work!

Christmas came to our place a little bit earlier this year! A big thank you to Steve, Victor and Ko. We didn't even know which type of turntable suits us. The way that you guys explained everything from day one to help us pick the right equipment was amazing. Now we enjoy our music even more. Will see you soon for some upgrading

Returned a new Emotiva CD player after only a couple of weeks due to track skipping, stopping mid track and commencing next track before finishing the current one. The repairer claimed to have tested the unit for 2 weeks and the unit performed faultlessly. The unit started skipping again and stopping mid track on the second CD I played. Not worth a second return. Sometimes you have to just chalk it up to experience and move on which is what I am going to do. Either poor product choice or poor choice of retailer - either way, move on. Could not recommend either on my experience.

If I could give less stars I would. Horrible experience. Bad advice. Unprofessional. Spend at another shop. Beware.
Purchased a new Ania cart for my Rega P7 and what a botched job from these monkies. They damaged the tonearm support screws, every one of them, misaligned the cart, tracking was all stuffed up, overhang was butchered, incredible shonky work monkies also placed a shim under one side of the tonearm putting it off kilter. Great knowledge right there.
They made my buy the spacer from the distributor and after waiting close to two months for the work to be completed, I went and collected the space to avoid further delays in completing the works. Through their poor knowledge, none of these parts are needed for Rega to Rega as per the Rega website and distributors instruction, but they don’t know what they are doing and shouldn’t touch things that are beyond their understanding. They shouldn’t damage people’s property either. So, beware about getting them to touch your stuff. Spend elsewhere, do your due diligence.
They threw out all of my packaging for the cart to be stored when not in use. I requested this to be replaced about 15 times through phone calls and emails to owners, managers and staff. This is the original storage case that is supplied by Rega for safe storage and stylus magnification and inspection plus tools. I was lied to, first told a staff member had pinched it, then it must have been thrown out. Owner and managers didn’t bother to follow up and replace. I gave up.
Wow, great service and a great way to treat your customers. Wish I had of gone elsewhere.
At my own expense I took the TT back to the distributor who corrected all of the poor works and rectified the situation with no problems, replacing screws, fixing damage, refitting carts, fixing up other issues, providing the storage protective case etc. Champion attitude at the distributor. Just a shame this store is run by fools.
Hifi should have a level of knowledge. If you want to take peoples money, know what you are doing, improve your customer service and experience.
Since then, I have purchased at another shop in the same area who are great, follow up and just do the right things by customers. And they know what they are doing and do great work.

Hi guys, just read your most recent review - Can’t understand it at all, they must’ve been having a super bad day or they’ve walked into the wrong store. Either way, each time my family and I have used these guys each visit is better than the last. Keep up the brilliant work.

Put item in for repair and after a month hadn't heard anything. Had to chase multiple times and was finally given a $300 quote for repair after THREE MONTHS. Having lost all confidence at this point we asked for it back (losing $99 in the process for nothing) and took it elsewhere - on the manufacturer's instructions - where a $99 service and software update got the item working again after a week. Stereophonic also failed to return the power cable so we've needed to buy another. Nice enough, but AVOID.

Went to look at speakers today and what can I say the service is awesome.the range is unbelievable. We test drove the focal 926 and loved it! Thank you for looking after us Victor will definitely be back.

Bought my new stereo through these guys and I got to say that the service I received was second to none. The lads there went out of their way to advise me on all aspects of my selection and as a consequence I am extremely happy with my selection. Its now been four weeks since I made the purchase and I am so happy with it. Thanks Guys you've done well. I will only be too happy to recommend you to anyone I know of if they are in the market for a top end Hifi system.

My third visit and still treated like a king!
After shopping around I was recommended this store by a friend. It’s not the closest but was well worth extra hour drive.
At first glance prices were reasonable but not super cheap.little did I know-after being amazed by the level of knowledge and attention I was gifted a set of super spikes that enhanced my system even further, far beyong my expectations!
I am so happy I found this store where people still offer value, knowledge and respect!

After much research and numerous visits to different retailers I decided on the products I wanted to upgrade my existing system. The final choice was pretty easy as the staff at Stereophonics were knowledgeable, constructively helpful and not pushy. Had plenty of time to listen and play and the huge range certainly provided plenty of options.

In Short: Best HiFi store experience to date.

Dropped in on a Sunday to check out their store, Steve (employee) was an absolute gent with a genuine interest and knowledge of HiFi. Steve further explained their full store is open all days except Sunday and worth checking out.

Returned the following week to check out their full store and was blown away by the setup. Plenty of products and spaces (dedicated rooms - like 6 of them!) to demo. It seams everyone there knew their stuff and were more than accomodating.

I was only there too look at some entry speaker Stands, however I was still treated as if I was there to buy a $10k system. The dedicated time given to me for such a small purchase truly made me feel appreciated and there was zero sales pressure to make a decision that day.
That being said, the experience alone was too good to leave empty handed. Now I'm smiling ear to ear with the sound improvements coming out of my speakers on their new Stands.

Would highly recommend visiting if you're in the market for new HiFi gear.

Thanks Stereophonic team you've made me a happy customer and can't wait to return for my next upgrade.

Dropped by just to check the store out. Upfront advised would not be purchasing today, however Steve who was on gave me his time to discuss options and explain the equipment. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. By far my best HiFi store experience in Victoria.

Great hi-shop for the things that matter. Good knowledge, quality gear, honest advice! They recommend components that are right for your room or exisiting system, happy to set up a system with particular components so you can hear exactly what you are getting. 100% happy with my purchases on multiple occasions. The people here awarding 1 star reviews sound a little cheap and self-entitled to me.
