I had three large timber mantlepieces removed from our Edwardian home. Kevin at Steptoe promptly offered a fair price and prompt collection. Good to do business with.

Unhelpful, disinterested staff.
The place is not fully-fledged stocked, apparently there are boxes full of stuff as yet unpacked from their former premises.
Don't bother going there.

If you want a window, door or fireplace probably OK. We wanted door and window furniture. George was very offhand and unhelpful. A most unsatisfactory visit. Would recommend going elsewhere.

Been going to Steptoes off and on for years and now have been to their new and larger Dundas St store. I really love that they have real materials AND they reconstruct period feature that would be otherwise hard to find. Very good quality workmanship and staff still very helpful and genuinely interested in their products. These are my vestibule doors repainted in 2019, which I had made by Steptoes in 1999. Still going strong.

Extremely rude and unprofessional company in particular George. All they had to do was put new boxes around 3 lead light windows but somehow managed to put the ledge on the wrong side of 2 windows. With the third larger stain glass window they 'fixed' the glass by putting silicone over all the joints. What a mess! Thankfully they couldn't even do this correctly and applied the silicone over a dirty surface so a real lead light specialist was able to remove the silicone without further damage. Then they take zero responsibility for the error they made. George swore at me on the phone and hung up on me as I tried to get the issue sorted when I pressed them for a solution. BE WARNED! NOT WORTH A STAR but was forced to put 1 star to post.

Parking is tight but so much old world stuff to look through, be ready to make your best offer!

Being 400km away, Kevin, George and his team expertly quoted, designed and built our windows and doors to spec. They went above and beyond our expectations. Made in Australia, exceptional quality and value. We highly recommend them.

Kelvin helped me to find a knob plate even after 530pm. He was a chimp and I would recommend their services to everyone.

I have been going to steptoes for years and they have always tried hard to met my needs. Nothing I have asked has been to difficult and they have always been happy to give advice on my many projects. Just visiting and wandering around looking at all their treasures is enjoyable.

Great customer service. The guy that works there, Kevin, is a champ. I called up to speak to him about a new sash window I needed and he explained it to me on the phone then invited me to the factory to see the product in person. He took a good half hour with me explaining how to measure it up, the pros and cons of various different types of windows and glass. A pleasure to do business with and I would highly recommend them.

Make sure that you describe your design excessively, have a written details. The owner end up doing the design his way although I stated strongly I don't want it certain way. My mistake was paying him before I have the product. Stubborn with his design ideas and at the end he admits it was a mistake but he calls me being fussy.telling customer that they are ridiculous not a professional way. I strongly suggest people not to go through with this people as they don't know a thing about customer service

Website us not updated with opening/closing times. Stupidly i should have called as the answering machine has the correct information. Drive a long distance all for nothing. Not happy!
