Steampacket Gardens reviews
29Attended the market, good turn out, variety of stalls and good selection of food on offer. Was a nice day out at the waterfront area.
Nice. Walk around no rubbish in the water but this huge ship anchor. Walked along the new pier walk was nice.
A pleasant walk along the waterfront of Geelong. Don't expect the Ferris wheel to be there anymore.
Great place to sit, admire the bay, and sip a take-away coffee (we prefer from Panache Cafe, over the road).
Take-away mussels and paella from the boat, at the wharf behind Fishermens Pier Restaurant.
Merry go round, Wharfshed Cafe and train-rides stop, are all found here. The marina walk is now open for pedestrians.
Lots to choose from.
Waterfront park with lots of thing to entertain yourself. Games to Play including circular horse ride game for kids and circular wheel for adults and kids. Food court was the best. And so was the market stalls.
Nice place to chill. There's sun, beach, park, fishing, swimming and nice restaurants fronting the beach.
A nice place to have a picnic on the waterfront or just go for a walk from Eastern Beach. Great place for going fishing. The fish seem to be biting around Cunningham pier.
If you're looking for a large vacant stretch of grass covered land with views of the ocean and interesting statues, then look no further! - First claimed by it's current owners in 1837, this bit of grass was originally being wasted and over-looked by the Kulin alliance. Now days, it is vastly improved and perfect for #igers to snap #potd. (#Petstagram too) - (Council's Neighbourhood Amenity Local Law 2014 covers a wide range of local laws within our municipality as prescribed under section 111 of the Local Government Act 1989, this includes a bylaw preventing naked frisbee) - Just a heads up.
Gorgeous walk.don't like the fact that kids fish in no fishing zones.but that's my only real issue.
Best place for a nice walk on a nice day lot's to see eat drink and do. Free parking on weekends great too.
Large open green space. Lovely flat and well kept grass for picnics, small gatherings or just to let the kids run safely. Very close to the carousel. Paella at the near by boat restaurant is excellent. Wheelchair accessible. Lots of close by parking. Public toliets near the Wharf shed.
Beautiful location and scored a magic day weather wise. A bit more support for the market there wouldnt go astray
Popular place for markets and events, great for families or have a leisurely stroll along the waterfront.
Great environment and vibe for the Cadel Evans cycling event. Gardens, Corio Bay and plenty of cafes and restaurants.
Always great to walk around this area with the many reataurants & cafes all along this stretch. On a good day it is lovely with the boats, childrens pool, neat bollards, & lots of green grass to sit.or the super walking path which covers a few kilometres along the waterfront. Be aware though that it is all meter parking these days so a good idea to find some free Park & walk down.
Great spot with a great view and lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. Nice big grass area for kids to run around or kick the footy.
Fresh air, family atmosphere, great place to get outdoors, walk the boardwalk, view corio bay and jump on the rides available
Beautiful lights all along the esplanade. Worth a look at night especially around christmas time while the tree is up. The wheel is usually up and running every summer aswell. With an ice cream truck along side
I visited these Gardens on a fine evening. There is plenty of space and the grass is well cut. It is by the water but not for swimming. Restaurants r close by and fun fairs for the family. A good spot for an outing.
"North" Sculptures along the waterfront.
North, by Mark Stoner (2000) consists of seven cement objects resembling sails or fins that vary in size from 2.2 to 3.5 metres high. No two fins are positioned on the same plane and by moving within and around the sculpture the profiles change quite dramatically.
