Steam Coffee Co / Johnny's reviews
12 Impressed with the coffee and ambience. Could not try the food so that's for next time.
The staff was also super friendly to accommodate a large group and managed the entire cafe by himself.
One of the best coffee shops out there in Melbourne and found myself going out of my way to get their coffee.
Great staff
Fantastic food, we had the Big Smack and the Truffle Mushroom and they were delicious.
The coffee was also delightful, the Biscoff chai caught my attention and blew my mind on the first sip.
We also had a choc chip cookie, and boy oh boy was it sweet and yummy.
My only critique is that it is a little pricey, but these are pricey times. Still completely worth heading to if you love good food, good coffee or just like getting out.
Thanks Johnny’s!
I recently stumbled upon this rather peculiar cafe and it was quite an experience.in a not-so-positive way.the shop had a somewhat dingy atmosphere that left me feeling a bit uneasy.
When it comes to coffee, this place offers something quite different, but not necessarily in a good way. The flavours were odd and confusing, and the aroma didn't have that inviting quality I'm used to. It's clear that the place prides itself on their coffee selection and preparation techniques, even if the coffee machine is one of the older ones.
The service was average at best. Everyone is somewhat friendly, but their attitude seemed tinged with impatience. While they attempted to explain the different coffee options, I felt like a burden with my questions and it lacked warmth and understanding.
This cafe won't appeal to everyone.if you're curious to experience a Melbourne coffee shop that seems stuck in the past, albeit not in the most charming way, then this might be the place for you. It's like stepping into a time capsule while sipping on a lukewarm cup of coffee.
All in all, my visit was a rather weird experience. While the flavours left much to be desired, the ambience had a certain offbeat appeal. So whether you're a coffee connoisseur or a novice like me, I cautiously suggest giving this shop a try and forming your own opinion. Just be prepared for a less-than-stellar experience.
Order a mocha and a soy caramel latte, along with a halloumi egg wrap and a raspberry croissant. Whacked it out the park. We thoroughly enjoyed everything and it was topped with excellent service.
We will definitely be back.
Best coffee in Surrey (I’ve tried them all multiple times) and surrounding areas. Lovely family business. Coffee is EXCELLENT. Service is amazing and I love the feeling of the place in and outside! ️ ️
Wow! What a magnificent chocolate slice, and made by the staff also. So much chocolate but so we’ll put together. Yum.
Fantastic coffee and fresh food cooked up by one of the owner's who are very friendly, obliging. It's down the road from me so a great local cafe where I can take my dog and sit outside enjoying the sunshine or inside where it's warm and welcoming.
Great local cafe, friendly staff, great coffee and the sausage and egg breakfast rolls are absolutely to die for.
Lovely laid back atmosphere, I felt very comfortable here. Good music at a good volume (noticeable but not distracting). I had a sriracha chicken toastie which was EXCELLENT.
One of the best cafes in Melbourne.
Coffee is always delicious, whether espresso or milk based.
Egg and bacon sandwich is fantastic.
The best muffin I've had in Melbourne. They use fresh berries for maximum flavour and freshness. The muffin is a softer sponge so it's not heavy and dense.
Prices are too reasonable, should raise them to reflect the quality.
OMG! This place must serve the best coffee EVER! They take great pride in their craft and infuse it lot so much TLC
Can’t wait till they open on weekends too
