I had the unfortunate experience of having to watch one of my favourite bands here, no issue with sound or lighting, it’s a small old venue, it is what it is, located in an inconvenient spot in Melbourne, night ruined by power tripping security who have no idea how to read the room. Hopefully never have to come back.

Great venue with well priced drinks. Security, manager & bar staff are all lovely will definitely be back.

Stay Gold is the perfect place for a great time. My group had a great time and the bar staff were epic. Especially jordon who took great care of us and made the night so awesome.

Great intimate venue. Ideal location for a night out. Plenty of places to eat before going to a gig.

The staff were friendly and the venue was ok for a band. But the gig was oversold and felt crowded.

Had an incredible night really love the place been going for a good year. I NEVER leave negative reviews. BUT here we are. I simply left my jacket in the club but was told to call tomorrow and drive 45minutes to the city when I simply could of retrieved my jumper but they chose to be disrespectful. I asked politely and got a respond of "call tomorrow" it really isn't hard to be the least bit consider to your paying customers but instead to be lazy and show no consideration is poor form. Extremely disappointed.

Awesome gig! Blood Incantation were a band that I will tell my grandkids about. So technically proficient and original in their interpretation of metal. The sound was great. Didn't have to put in my earplugs cause the mix/engineer had it sorted. Can't wait to hear their next release and I'll definitely be at their next Melbourne gig. This is a band that makes the effort to master their art! May they have a long and fruitful existence. Their musical legacy has already been carved into human history. Onya lads!

Amazing atmosphere, great staff, friendly people, great amenities overall a wonderful venue

My friend got very drunk and security were very nice and wonderful, handed them over to bar staff and they got her the help she needs. She’s good now

Absolute hole. Power tripping security that have the basic training of 7 year olds. These guys wouldn’t know the difference between their ahole and their elbow when it comes how to do their jobs. Very disappointed, I felt targeted through pure boredom than any real reason and when I mentioned that I was immediately asked to leave after just being told I could stay. I know a bully when I see one and would rather mention it than get pushed around. The place is clearly struggling looking at other reviews about security and the fact that they have about seven people in the place on most Friday and Saturday nights is testament to a poorly run venue. Was keen to bring my band to this venue but they can Mclick my Mcballs and I’ll take my drinkers to a better style of establishment. Do better stay gold, was better when it was The Spot. Your incompetent security are seriously the reason you have no patrons the bar staff were awesome. Anyone reading this do yourself a favour and go to the rooftop at Cornish. This place ain’t worth the time.

Nice bar staff, security however are some of the biggest tripping dogs I've ever seen at a venue.

Went to a Best of Both Worlds event that started at 11pm. Was good for a couple of hours before they turned the music off and lights on at 1am. Two hours before the event was due to finish. They cleared everyone out and I asked the security if I could use the bathroom before leaving. Security was very rude and intimidating towards me and refused access to the bathrooms. I had such a good time at the last event but sadly due to this horrible experience I will not be returning to Stay Gold and will let others know not to as well. Bit of a joke for a $20 door charge.

I could forgive the expensive bar prices and would happily give more stars if they didn't employ the bouncers they had there on Friday and Saturday. Fosters a really bad environment and a place I don't want to be. Toilets were ok.

Lovely venue, nice music, nice small concerts but awful security staff, they are SO rude for no reason!

Was there for the club night last night. Bouncer pushed me and told me he wouldn't think twice about punching me into the face. I did absolutely nothing only try to get back in after smoking a cig. The absolute worst power tripping bouncers you could ever imagine. Do not go here. Do not support violent abusive men.

Amazing sound for live music, a small room with a quality PA system and quality technicians, also, great stage sound for bands! A great selection of craft beer on tap poured by lovely, friendly bar staff.

Not only do they help you celebrate life, they help you celebrate love and everything in-between! Five stars. No! More!
