Starhaven Retreat

Far from a retreat or a hotel, your sharing rooms next to other couples in a cramped up house, sharing the facilities with other people also the owners aswell. And you’re sharing your breakfast with the other couples and the owners when expecting your down time to be with a friend or loved one. Instead your having to mingle and eat your breakfast in a family home and table with other guests… far from a retreat. I was woken up at 7.30 to my surprise of every gust having to eat at that kitchen which my room was next to. Feel like I’ve been robbed from my birthday and my money. Checked out the next day immediately. This is not a retreat more like a shared living home if I have to be honest. To be called and rated a 4star hotel honestly surprises me on how this is passed or called a 4 star hotel or a retreat. Paying close to 1k for two nights as-well is honestly the biggest rip off, and home internet does not work to unwind to watch or a stream a movie to. Called up to fix the situation and was left with nothing. Do not pay your money here if you want a get away. Felt like I was in a home forced to mingle with other guests. Far from a retreat or a getway, far from it! This should be called a shared living home experience. Not a retreat or getaway!

Great location, beautiful accomodation and our hosts were very efficient and kind, looking after us from the time we arrived until we left. Highly recommend.

We had our ‘wow’ moment as soon as we walked through the front door of this amazing B&B. It was sublime - from the room, to dinner on the rooftop, ocean views, cinema experience to an amazing relaxing massage finished with a wonderful spa - all incredible & already planning our next visit before we left. Special mention to gorgeous pup Micky, who made the stay even more special! Thanks Rob for everything, incl the amazing breakfasts.

From the moment we checked in, we knew we were in for a spectacular stay. Ian and Rob are superb hosts, and have a true gift in making you feel right at home from the moment you step through the door. Rooms are immaculate, breakfast was divine (loved the extra butter on my baggels - thanks Ian!) and the location is incredible. Highly recommend!

A two night stay at Starhaven retreat leaves you relaxed and glad that you left your daily routine behind. Ian and Rob were amazing, loved the breakfast chats and after just two days you feel like you have known them for a long time! Location and accomodation is excellent. All the best for the future Ian and Rob.

Star heaven debited our credit card on 16th October. On 17th October, when we checked in, they informed that hot water is not running but will be available latest by tomorrow morning. There was no hot water for the three nights of our stay. We could not even shower and returned home stinking. We could not enjoy spa and pool, which were main attractions of this super expensive B&B. Invite to share a take away dinner for their visiting friends was not a compensation for the inconvenience caused. The hosts promised to send a voucher which has not arrived after a month, despite follow up calls and text messages.
The intent of Star heaven is clearly maximising revenue by letting out unsuitable facility. In view of our disappointing experience, we will never stay there again and do not recommend to others.

Stayed weekend. The house is absolutely gorgeous. Owners Rob and Ian are great hosts who make you feel at home. Thankyou guys.

We have stayed here many times but due to Covid we hadn't been for some 4 years. Both Ian and Robert are fantastic Hosts and Star Haven is just the best place to enjoy your vacation. We will return again another time. Thank you for the wonderful break we had.

What can I say but thank you to Robert and Ian so much for your hospitality and service you both gave us for my husbands 50th b.day it was so special that we'll never forget. We had a great relaxing and peaceful weekend.
The breakfast was amazing and so fresh. We loved the chats and laughs we had.

Absolutely far from a retreat! Got there and taken up to our room, and the amount of dog hair on the floor was absolutely disgusting, too go along with all the dust on the windows. The house smelt like it hadn’t been aired out for ages. The house is ran by two blokes, one who seems to be doing all the work, while the other is happy to sit around with the dog. The room was okay, but after seeing the dirtiness on the way to the room I was a bit apprehensions on how clean the room was. For things to do here, the pool table is well pasted it’s used by date, the swim spa was not operational when we went there not that I would have probably went swimming in it. This is my honest review, not that I have anything against the owners but the house is not kept up with in regards to be called a retreat.

Absolutely stellar. Such a lovely location and beautiful facilities. I'm happy to 100% recommend staying here.

Ian and Rob are great hosts- nothing is too much trouble. Food is high quality and large portions provided.
I enjoyed the spa, sauna and not forgetting the cinema experience. Drinks at the bar, ice cream and popcorn.

Starhaven was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. Rob and Ian are delightful hosts who take pride in making every guests stay as memorable as possible with every interaction. We stayed in the Haven Suite and would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to make the most of their stay (the bath and in-room sauna/spa make the getaway extra special). There is no shortage of things to do in the Indented Head/Portarlington/Bellarine area, but if you're in the mood for staying in be sure to take advantage of Starhavens sauna, spa, cinema, rooftop views, billiards room or bar! I can't recommend this experience enough to anyone looking for a luxurious getaway by the sea!

Ian, Rob and Mickey…where do we even start. From the moment we pulled up out the front of Starhaven we felt immediately relaxed. Once we stepped inside this stunning home I knew it more than just a Grand Design. It is a home purpose built with generosity, consideration and love. Jason and I have been so blessed to spend a week being entertained, pampered and waited on with such genuine love and care it’s has truly felt like visiting with dear friends or family. There is nothing this stunning home does not have to offer from generous home made breakfast, high quality fixtures and fittings, deluxe furnishings, spa, sauna, luxurious theatre, delicious cocktails and stunning views. But all this pales in comparison to the first class personalised service from two of the most wonderful gentlemen that we have ever had the pleasure to meet. Everything happens for a reason and we are so grateful that all our failed plans for our 25th Wedding Anniversary led us to Starhaven. It was simply meant to be.

We had an amazing stay in the Haven Suite. Robert, Ian and Mickey made us feel right at home.
This stay made us remember what a true bed and breakfast is.
