Star of the Sea College reviews
23Amazing school.sent my daughters there! Really pretty classrooms and great teachers. I think Star is extremely underrated and is amazing for students if they want good VCE results. Amazing at singing! I would give this more stars if it had a swimming pool and did rowing. This would make star better. Star also needs to do more with other schools/Brother schools. Students love it and would enjoy school better. I 100 percent reccommend your daughter should go here.
My daughter has just commenced at Star, and has been super excited to commence her journey at this school since year Prep. Star has so far proven to be superbly organised, welcoming, and encouraging, providing excellent communication to both students and parents from the very start. My daughter has already become involved in different clubs and has quickly adapted to the Star way of helping others, and is very eager to take on all the opportunities that this school has to offer.
I myself am a fellow star student, and I love it. It's a great work environment and I highly recommend sending your daughters here.
Hi. I love this school and all the teachers are so exquisite: D Please send your girls here Haha. I freaking love this catholic community and this tribe encouraged me to become a nun. Loving this education facility. Coordinators are legend ;) I did one star because we are one star community! (Pls let my family go)
Fabulous school for any student looking for a supportive and caring environment that encourages them to follow their passions and helps create positive pathways to achieving their goals. As a school it also has a strong culture of social justice and community.
Mary O'Conner has been an brilliant addition to the school. Her leadership has ensured students have access to an incredibly talented pool of teachers across all disciplines which has enabled the students to achieve amazing academic results across the board (vcal & vce), successfully participate in arts and sports competitions and lay down the foundations for very successful futures.
Star provides such a positive and nurturing environment with an excellent balance of academic, music, social and sport.
My daughter is at this school and she’s happy there. I know that Star has a great community that cares. The teacher’s strive to bring out the best in the girls. They also care about their well-being. I’m really happy my daughter’s a Star girl!
Our daughters are both 4th generation Star girls and we cannot thank the teachers and staff highly enough for getting our eldest daughter through her VCE years 11 & 12, during the last 2 years of lockdown! Our daughter did remarkably well all considering and is now studying Commerce at Melbourne University and very happy.
Our 2nd daughter is currently in Year 10 and loving all that Star of the Sea has to offer, and recently enjoyed being part of the school musical. It was a fabulous production written by past & present students. There are so many extra-curricular activities on offer & countless VCE subjects to choose from. One is spoilt for choice.
The community is inclusive and diverse. The legacy of the founding Sisters holds strong in regards to ‘Education for all’, regardless of the socio-economics of the area, the school still tries to keep the fees as affordable as they can.
During the pandemic, all parents received an email in keeping with the foundations of the Presentation Nuns, stating that no girl, regardless of parent’s financial situations would go without an education or be asked to leave. The level of empathy and care for families was exemplary. Star of the Sea is all about education (& not about making money), which in this day and age is so refreshing & uplifting. We couldn’t be happier with our experience so far.
A school with a long history of wonderful musicals. This school is also been long known for its hard working teachers and a very strong sense of social justice.
A wonderfully inclusive school that caters for all levels of academic abilities. The school’s focus is very much on the individual rather than steering students in a particular direction. Having said that the school’s current academic results are a testament to Star’s current management and teaching program.
There is a large range of subjects and extra curricular activities on offer. Many students participate in sport and music representing Star at inter-school events with wonderful results.
The school’s strong social justice focus encourages students to examine their world and contribute towards making it a better place.
Star’s facilities are first rate with a new building recently completed. It is rapidly becoming a school of the future.
I have been so happy with Star for my daughter who is in year 12 this year. Great range of subjects and dedicated teachers who are always available. The pastoral care is also excellent. Will be sad to move on!
A fabulous environment for young women to thrive. Over nearly 10 years having our girls at Star we’ve watched the school & our girls discover, adapt & learn. Each of our girls has different strengths that are equally encouraged & celebrated at Star.
I have 2 daughters at Star. They are really enjoying their time at the school. The school offers a large number of subjects and co curricular activities to suit them both. Both my girls are heavily involved in co curricular activities and the many clubs the school has. It one of the many positives of a big school. All schools have issues, but I have always found the staff very supportive, very approachable and fair.
A lovely school that encourages students to study what they enjoy. Supportive teachers who engage the students. Lots of inclusive co curricular activities- literally something for everyone!
A great school where women are encouraged to be anything they want to be. I loved it and my daughter loves it.
With some very very notable exceptions a school which demonstrates few catholic values. Very disappointing experience overall and to be avoided at all costs. There are other catholic schools which embody all that is great in education nearby
On a scale of 1 to savage it would be savage, pretty lit girls and swag IT guys! 5 stars from me baby!
If the school became a woodlot who knows how much better it would do for the area, especially lumberjacks!
My first daughter had a wonderful experience. Full to the English teachers who assisted her (English being her second language).
Pretty good school but i wish you didn’t have to walk through the fresh meat enclosure to get to anzac:/
