St Vincent de Paul Society / Vinnies Box Hill reviews
12Wanted a list of Vinnies, especially the big ones. Got faffed about, blown off and finally passed to a dead line. When the easiest one minute job becomes too hard, then questions should be asked.
I don’t like vinnies. The organization is extremely disappointing. Bad jobs and terrible service.
Vinnies has been there for me on many occasions. What a wonderful group of people. I can't thank you enough. To this day Vinnies is assisting me & I honestly don't how I would have survived without them. Thx to everyone at St Vincent de Paul
I was dismissed from vinnies as a volunteer after one year and a half years service. No reason given. No body at vinnies will tell me why. Vinnies have closed their door.not answering phone calls and ignoring e-mails. This is a warning to future volunteers. You will find all whistleblower policies are not followed at st Vincent de Paul. I volunteered at vinnies for their solid name in the community and what they have achieved. What a complete disappointment.
They must have forgotten that the key values of St Vinnies are meant to include compassion, respect, empathy and courage.
When questioned about people being excluded from their op shops, they hid in their offices while police guarded the entrance.
Shameful.
Most magical place on earth. Their values are all about their people, the community and their passion to reach out and catch you if you fall. With their helping hands and open hearts. Good works!
Extremely unprofessional staff, most notably their HR staff. Their hiring process is borderline illegal and their employee culture is toxic. Had a couple of interviews with them and would never want to work there.
I used to like getting welfare assistance from vinnies, but lately every time they come out they tell me off i keep on calling them up to frequently, and they told me to wait at least 6 weeks, which i did and they still said thats not enough, it seems to me the volunteers change there length between waiting periods to suite there selves
Not to mention they delve into your personal business and they tell you to ring the welfare assistance call center for financial advisors which vinnies doesn't do and i told these volunteers and they still dont believe me, they start alot of fights and when they get brought in they blame the client
Me my self im through with st vinnies because of there deception and lies, they even assumed my ex wife was in cohoots with me just because i let her have the phone after i called for food vouchers because i she tried all week to get a hold of vinnies and couldn't until i did
Even on of your volunteer named jeff made assumptions regarding this
There supposed to be a Christian organisation to me the way your
Volunteers act they are more like the devil
Disgusting treatment from this st Vincent de Paul from Judith and the local volunteers who refused my family food because I would not sign a document they procured that I had to wait 8 weeks for further assistance. I was repeatedly told 6 weeks between visits. I sent a detailed email and received no response, then called repeatedly where I was told to take it up elsewhere by Judith who didn’t care what so ever and her rude, stand over manner is a disgrace!
Very nice no judgement!
Amazing volunteer worker's.
Thank you for all the help you have provided for My daughter and Myself
This year, Happy new year to all the amazing staff!
forever appreciative! !
thank you
A remarkable organisation. Doing great work without a cent of government support. Efficient and careful with the application of it’s funds. 99% of its workers are volunteers and only about 1% of their people are paid.
Highly unprofessional organisation. If you're a volunteer you'll be fine but dealing with their HR team (especially Sam Forsyth) is a nightmare. I had an interview with their new IT Manager Chris and he was a very rude, arrogant and condescending person. Hopefully all not-for-profits have staff that are so out-of-date and unskilled. I would ask a lot of questions during an interview as they have highly unorthodox hiring procedures.
