St Macartan's Parish Primary School reviews
7We moved to St Mac's in 2018 and the transition for my children and the entire family was so smooth and positive - honestly we've never looked back. My children have thrived academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually and our family of 5 have all made lifelong friends and memories that we will cherish forever. Excellent staff, leadership, school grounds and a strong community - St Mac's has it all.
Terrible place i was forced to wash Jesus feet during a producing and yes this was against my will.
What a wonderful school. Great leadership and teaching staff and a beautiful and supportive school community. Like most things in life, what you get out depends on what you are prepared to put into it. Our positive experiences over many years far out way any bumps in the road.
Amazing school! The vibe you get when you walk into the place is fantastic, the grounds are spotless and the office staff and teachers are very friendly. Lots of opportunities for kids in different areas and my daughter has loved every minute of being there. As for Timmy's review he seems like a bit of a keyboard warrior and only gives 5 stars to Thai Massage places! My daughter trained every morning for for the Cross Country team and the Sports Teacher was there every day encouraging them and setting goals. Sounds like the only one unmotivated might be your kid Timmy as the kids that were there training every morning made the team and I as a parent appreciated rewards being given out for effort.
Don't think the Sports area needs a shake up at all and he's doing a great job for the facilities he's got. My only knock on the school would be they could probably use a gym.
For anyone thinking of sending their kids there just go and check it out. You won't be disappointed!
Such an amazing school everyone is nice and kind.all the teachers are also very kind and considerate and are always caring for there students

This school has a lot of problems at the moment and with no principal, some (not all) of the teachers are slackening right off. If your kid is into sports, look elsewhere. The sports teacher here is not very motivated. He wouldn't even let the kids have a tryout for the district cross country race. Every other school held an interschool race and the top 10 kids get thru. This guy couldn't be bothered and just selected kids at random. Lots of angry parents and kids.
There are some great teachers at this school and I feel guilty giving this school 2 stars because those teachers deserve so much more, but, unfortunately there are some shockers as well. There are no average teachers here, either they are brilliant or horrible and the reason for that is, they run composite classes. The teachers are given 30 kids in either 1-2,3-4 or 5-6 and they are expected to teach from the kid that is struggling the most in the lowest grade to the smartest kid in the higher grade. Only teachers with lots of drive and determination can do that well and even then it is a big ask and unfair on the teacher. The teachers with little drive (and there are a couple), just throw their hands up and do the bare minimum to get thru.
Hopefully when they finally find a new principal they will revert back to straight classes and the teachers will be able to do their job better. Hopefully a new principal will also give the sports area a massive shake up. Unfortunately this school is still some years away from turning around. I would suggest to anyone that is looking to look elsewhere for now.
