St Kilda Botanical Gardens reviews
46Well maintained. A lovely botanic environment cared for by professionals and friends of'.
Had to put this review as this place was my escape to nature during my 3 years in st kilda. You will definitely feel close to nature if you visit this place. Very nicely maintained and perfectly crafted to make you make you fall in love with place.
The Rose garden was a particular highlight for me, although I also quite enjoyed the fountain aswell, my visit here with my partner has been a lovely way to spend our afternoon, I very much recommend it to anyone near by, very calm and secluded.
Beautiful botanical gardens in St kilda love this place ive been going every morning while staying here.one of the best rose gardens ive seen.
Very run down and uncared for. So disappointing as it could be beautiful. The Rose garden was still spectacular.
We enjoyed our walk in side and around the garden. It made us feel as if we were in a different place. We meet some very lovely people as well.
Lovely rose garden. But get there early when going for a picnic. There is all day parking but goes quickly.
My friend lives around the corner from here…. So this place is extra special to me. The houses around here are so nice too…. Nothing beats the iconic St Kilda, something so special and esoteric about these gardens too - children’s playground a nice touch for the kids. Beautiful and stunning place! Great community feel.
Beautiful spot to sit in the sun and read a book. Very well maintained gardens and the greenhouse is a great feature.
It's lovely, but they need to focus much more on including a wider diversity of Australian native plants
Hidden gem and well looked after. Close to St Kilda shops and beach. Best place to park is just around the park itself. Free parking.
Relaxing pretty gardens. There are benches to sit on. During busy times parking can be difficult to find.
What a beautiful place. The gardens are lovely, roses smell heavenly & lots of shady trees to picnic under in summer. Unfortunately the fountain wasn't running which was a shame, hopefully next I go back it will be.
Both wheelchair & baby carriage accessible, the St Kilda Botanic Gardens offer a break from the busy atmosphere of the surrounds of St Kilda. Nestled behind Barkly Street near the end of Acland Street, & between the Nepean Highway it is within walking distance of all the major St Kilda landmarks & Icons. With access from every side, stepping into the gardens feels like you're stepping into a different place, & if you find yourself needing a break from the the business of everyday life, you can find yourself a soft bit of grass in the shade to just sit & watch, daydream or even take a quick alfresco nap. Within the gates you'll find a small conservatory to walk through, a duck pond, small area with children's play equipment, & bbq & dining facility. There are also public toilets, both standard as well as a bigger wheelchair accessible toilet - using this facility can however be an adventure at times as it is a known place for the ladies of the night to utilise during daylight hours for their activities! ;) The other main highlight is the rose garden which is the setting for many weddings thru the year. The opening hkurs are from early morning, around 5: 30-6am & evenings around 8-9pm. Overall, worth the trip to relax, escape & unwind on a nice day for everyone regardless any age
The rose garden here is lovely and it’s nice to go for a walk around but I feel like I saw so many big wheely bins and it kind of took away from the nature of the place perhaps if there was a bit more creative way to disguise the bins with artificial plants or paint them or something to make them blend in a bit it would be nicer. Parking was easy to find so that was a plus too!
Beautiful Gardens, pond and surrounds. Plenty of places to relax. The oy downside is the public toilets which need to be cleaned a lot more regularly.
The roses are out and the air is fragrant! A beautiful place to meet a friend or family group. Plenty of places to sit and many winding paths through the trees.
Beautiful any time of year. Behaves. Rose gardens. Ponds. Hot house. Lots of grass for picnicking. Can get busy on warm sunny days.
Great to park.
Fantastic to visit, great rose gardens which are a highlight.
Plenty of room for picnics with shade and room to find your own space.
A great large chess board and plenty of tables with game boards to take your own pieces.
Toilets available.
Large panoramic pond and a hot house. The hot house could do with some care.
DEPRESSING
I needed to get out, even though this park was 40klm past my 5klm limit. I help grow flowers with my cousins and those guys are so busy.when people ask me why? I had to tell them the truth.
"There's a lot of sad people out there and if i can make them smile again. "

Mums and Dads i have to be honest, your children are disappointed I dont wear a mask, and its always the children when i go shopping, that look at me.i smile, they do back and then they look up at you disappointed.mum dad what are you doing? You are emotionless to your children? I saw you all, there was not one of your children happy.i didnt hear your young girls scream out of joy! Young boys challenging each other.loudest wins! When the captain yells "woman and children only. " and the last mothers and fathers are too many, they throw there children into the arms of other mothers and say goodbye
