I just called the reception to ask about eye specialists appointment. The lady who picked up the call was very rude. She didn't listen to my query. She did not let me talk. She gave me information which I did not even need. I don't know if she was being racist or her personality is like that. Why are such rude people working as receptionists!

I visited the E &D on Sunday afternoon in horrific pain in my leg and back, I have a couple of chronic illnesses and one of those being back issues. After 6 days and a previous visit to a 'public' hospital, I was left with paperwork and given a walker to use. After that I endured 3 more days of pain I had never felt in my whole life, I'd much prefer to have been in labour for those 6 days. When I arrived I was quickly whisked off as sitting in a wheelchair was almost impossible. I was seen and treated with pain medication immediately and was continually treated until my pain was tolerable. Once they had achieved analgesia I was taken for a CT and after I believe 6-7 hours I was able to come home with answers, a plan and if a reoccurance/no improvement and was in a much better mental space. To all the staff, Dr. Paula, Emma, Liz, Chealse, Daniel, Harrison, PSA's and countless others that me or my mum can't remember names. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You treated me with such kindness, care, thought and are the most non-judgemental group of medical professionals I have ever had the pleasure to meet. You changed my whole world that day and you all deserve the absolute best in life for helping in the most darkest and painful place I have ever been in. I have a long way to go, but, if anyone in the geelong area has an emergency i hold this E&D in the highest of regard. It's a very small price to pay ($235) for in my opinion the best care in geelong area. Thank you one all for helping me through this very distressing time. Warmest wishes, Kristy Michalowsky.

I have never left reviews for hospitals but I just had to make an exception.
My son was here for a procedure and had to stay over night, the reception staff, nurses and doctors were absolutely incredible. I've honestly never felt more welcome and the care they showed my son was beyond amazing.
Thank you so much to everyone at SJGGH

Recently my partner and I had a baby at SJOG. The service they have provided (and are still providing) is magic. Round the clock care coupled with a smile is giving us and our a little one a positive start to this new chapter.

I had no idea what to expect, as this is our first baby. But if you’re considering having a baby here, I can assure you that I don’t know how they could improve.

A simple 5 star review doesn’t even feel adequate for the care we’ve received.

Thanks for playing a part of the best chapter of my life.

Whilst I waited a number of hours to be seen. Dr Steven & nurse Dean were exceptional in their care of me. Living with a chronic illness has in the past resulted in very stressful discussions with drs and nurses in the past. I am so grateful to them for first listening and creating an investigation plan to sort out what is going on for me & causing my temperature out of the blue. Feeling well looked after & reassured.

Brilliant team of staff at SJOG admissions and ED. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly with excellent communication, keeping me up to date with what was happening. My husband was even offered a meal by the lovely nurses! Blood tests and two scans completed within a matter of hours. Couldn't be happier, keep up the great work.

Beautiful Staff. Parking was simple. Appointments were on time. Eye specialist
Rod O'Day is empathetic and takes a timely matter with his clients, as I attend appointments with my Mother-in-law.

Had to come in through emergency was super super impressed! Was given a warm gown and warm blanket upon arrival to make me more comfortable, all drs and nurses in attendance were absolutely brilliant! I was being stubborn and didn’t want to come in because I wasnt able to have a support person but in the end pain won and I came in and even though I was highly groggy on pain meds there was a nurse who was like my mum! Super kind and caring and every held my hand during the Canula insertion!

I had an ACL reconstruction and meniscus tear surgery. Overall experience was good. Most nurses (especially night shift nurse) were nice and helpful with a single exception. The only bad experience was the long wait (almost 3 hours) for a couple of pain killers to be sent by the pharmacy department before discharge. I would like to thank the night shift nurse who was looking after me as she did a great job!

We took our 3 year old daughter into the emergency department today with a suspected shoulder injury (which was later confirmed to be a fractured collarbone). We were seen by Damian who was absolutely amazing! Our daughter was extremely distressed and was very disruptive to the whole department but Damian still managed to examine her, handle her in the X-ray room (because we couldn’t!) with the help of another lovely doctor and did it all so calmly and like it was no trouble at all. Thank you so much Damian for all your help and kindness today. You re-assured us not to worry about the disturbance she was causing which was so lovely of you and very much appreciated. Thank you!

Am sending out a big thankyou to the nursing team on Level 2 for the exceptional, extra-special care I received when I recently stayed at SJOG Hospital, Geelong. I swear these nurses have a sixth sense that can read my mind and sense my emotional condition as well as my physical. They were so attentive to nurturing me through the teary post operative blues. Their efforts really helped my recovery. Hugs and Kisses, Liz Reed

A huge thank you to the doctors and nurses in emergency, particularly Nurse Jen for taking great care of me today. I wish more hospitals were at the standard of this one. While there is a charge for emergency, it's a small price to pay for this level of care. Thank you.

Took my wife to the emergency centre at SJOG for the first time today. Staff, nurses and doctors are very professional and friendly. There is a false assumption that non citizen migrants can't afford emergency care without Medicare but that's not true. Our overall bill came down to $311. I would really thank the staff and doctors for taking care of my wife. Please pass my thanks to doctors & staff who addressed my wife (Mounika Kiran Eluri.)
