St John of God Bendigo Hospital reviews
19 Recent surgery here staff on surgical ward Awesome.
Rehabilitation unit are simply amazing, the staff the physio the gym all put up an amazing opportunity for patients to reach their best level of mobility. My rehab Dr was so wonderful and so helpful. To give 10/10 is not enough.
My midnight hot chocolate delivery by Jo terezise will be sadly missed
I recently had knee replacement surgery at SJOG Bendigo. What a wonderful group of professional and friendly carers/medical staff. Also delighted with a great room service menu - great range of healthy food. Congratulations.
After a short stay “supported by DVA I cannot find a fault with this place. From the moment I stepped in the front door I was made to feel welcome and important. And the food is like going to a restaurant.
We had our first baby at SJOG Bendigo and had the best experience. TThe food was beautiful which we were not expecting from a hospital, the new room service menu was fantastic, we could just call and order our food at a time that suited us, the menu had so much variety and the food was delicious. Thank you all so much, we look forward to having our next baby at SJOG Bendig
I've been going to do this for a couple of months now and unfortunately haven't got around to it.
I had a hernia repair on the 3rd of November 2021 and just can't explain how comfortable and relaxed the staff were able to make me feel.
Every staff member that I came into contact with were just fantastic. Unfortunately I don't remember names but I won't forget the care you gave me.
Thanks once again for the care you gave, you obviously love your job.
Mick Gulliver.
The services received by all staff is second to none except for the overnight supervising nurse who would not listen to my complaint of respiratory issues even though the evidence was staring her in the face. Obviously not happy at all about that and 'she' drags the rest of the hospitals reputation down with her.
On behalf of our family, I would like to sincerely thank the nurses and cardiologists in ICU for their amazing care, understanding and support in looking after our mother. Mum was flown from the Western District to Bendigo on Friday night after suffering a turn and we nearly lost her several times. The nurses and doctors worked so hard performing CPR and an emergency operation to keep mum alive and after a rollercoaster four days we are so happy mum is returning home tomorrow to the local hospital for rehab following the hard work of the discharge planner today. On Saturday night when things weren't looking too good you allowed me to spend some time with mum at 10.30pm after a late night dash to Bendigo from Ballarat. My father and sisters have lived out of a motel in Bendigo since Sunday and the care and understanding shown to them has been exceptional. Please pass on the thanks and appreciation from the 'Lee' family to the ICU team, we are forever grateful for what you did for mum.
I don't know whether St John of God is short of staff or if there's another reason that theatre nurses are currently working on both Melb metro hospitals and Bendigo. It seems concerning. I was very surprised a Melbourne nurse said she works both and often stays over in Bendigo so she has more freedom. Seriously? I wasn't admitted to St John of God. I heard this from the nurse herself. She worked with two surgeons who come up from Melbourne.
All were so kind and friendly to my wife who just had a mastectomy. That includes all the doctors, nurses and staff. But I had a disappointing experience which was rectified quickly. We received an apology which was good.
St Jog Bendigo is a caring place. However, very concerned about your COVID policies and protocols. Nursing staff are regularly travelling from Melbourne to Bendigo to work with Melbourne surgeons. Most alarmingly, the nurses often stay the night in Bendigo, and talk about being able to out for a meal in Bendigo, cafe breakfast, shopping etc. Our understanding is that people must abide by the lockdown rules of the place they live in even if they are permitted to travel for work. What can be done to take more responsibility for this occurring please?
Absolutely first class care. Staff on the surgery ward and admission are a credit to St John of God. I want to recognise my so lovely nurse Amy she was so concerned with my well being I sent a extra night. Also Miss Hannah was wonderful. The hospitality staff Shirley and Charlie make a great cuppa and take the time to have a chat. When being discharged Hannah ensured I had a escort-thank you Emily for waiting with me until my husband arrived to pick me up out front
Only saw one negative person and that was when waiting for the lift on discharge, however that one person is not a reflection of the engaging people I met during my stay across all areas of the hospital.
The staff a credit to the Bendigo campus
Had surgery on 23rd April. Care was excellent. Highly recommend this hospital 10/10. Follow up call two days post discharge most welcome. Nursing staff, volunteers, cleaners and kitchen staff first class very caring attitude always professional. Couldn’t find any fault. Well done
A remarkable hospital with a inner courtyard that is cozy and relaxing. Has a chapel off it and a cafe. Have been there for various medical reasons and have no complaints.
Husband had knee replacement surgery, waited and waited for a call on when he came out of surgery.
No call. Started to panic.
Then husband rang me.
No one called me to let me know ANYTHING. Totally disgusting, especially when this covid lockdown started at midnight so I can't go and see him at all.
Not happy.
We had such a positive experience for the birth of our first baby. Thank you to everyone at SJOG for your caring, friendly and professional attitude. First class experience, thank you again!
