St. Augustine's Anglican Kindergarten reviews
7 Not sure how government ratings work. They don't seem to match actual experiences. I am listing a few facts to help you determine if you would like to send your child here:
1. Location - Is walking distance the top factor? (The only reason I sent my child here.)
2. Facility - Would you mind if your child does most things on the carpeted floor, incl.eating and napping (no table, chair, sleeping mat or blanket)
3. Routine - Would you want your 4-5yo be made lying on the carpeted floor for naptime after lunch?
4. Process - If you need to share drop-off and pick-up duties with another family member, would you mind not knowing which room to drop off your child? While you always pick up from the same room, they change it every week which room to drop off your child at. On the week your child is dropped off in the other room (not their home room), they need to leave their bags and coat on the floor and take them to their locker later in the day.
5. Communication - Would an A4-sized generic flyer with around six low-resolution photos and annotations each month be enough to show you what child does at kinder? (same flyer for every child in the kinder) Would you mind your emails not answered, incl.when you say your child is sick and not able to attend?
6. Charges - Would you mind being charged a levy and constantly receiving donation request emails? These donations include tissue paper, toilet rolls, chocolates, hand vacuum, mac computer mouse, and Mother's Day gift money. For the Mother's Day 'gift stall', they ask you to pay $10-25 for 1-3 gifts. On the day, while parents are invited, there is no activity at all. There is no "stall", and children don't even get to pick the gifts. They just get given random ones, such as bath lily, pen and notebook, which probably cost less than half the price paid.
7. Activities - They do have a chicken and a turtle on-site, which is a positive aspect.
Fabulous kindergarten. Both my kids thoroughly loved it. Great facilities and staff provide a supportive and nurturing environment for children to learn through play. Can’t recommend it enough!
This kindergarten has been wonderful for my four children. The teachers are nurturing and the facilities are fabulous. Having many friends transition from here to Mont Albert Primary School has helped ensure a smooth start to school life.
Great Kindergarten with experienced teachers. Group size is excellent and not too big which I feel is important. My son just loves it! Great atmosphere.
I enjoyed my time at this kindergarten but the staff are horrible, due to that fact I have rated the kindergarten 1/5
This is an amazing Kindergarten with outstanding facilities and a caring and nurturing team. Our little girl loves being a part of the 3 YO program.
St Augustine Kinder is very good with a high reputation in local community. My kids love staying there and they really learnt a lot. Most of the kids are going to Mont Albert Primary after 5 yo.
