St Albans Dermatology-Dr Bruce Tate reviews
30Dr Bruce Tate was obviously very experienced and knowledgable. He took the time to explain the pathophysiology behind my condition as well as the pros and cons of various treatment options. He was direct about a treatment plan and gave me information sheets to ensure understanding.
I am genuinely perplexed at some of the reviews on here as I did not encounter any issues with this practice. Yes, its true Dr Tate may run a little bit behind, but compared to some other clinics where wait times can be 6-9 months I was more than happy to wait a few extra minutes. Dr Tate, himself is personable and exceptionally knowledgeable. I have sun damage on lip and was very worried that it could be something more sinister, but he explained the various scenarios and options and put my mind at rest. A really big shout out to the lovely staff. An exceptional team who were always pleasant and friendly and more than happy to play along with my silly humour. The surgical nurses were also very sweet, and I always felt like I was in good hands. As I left I jokingly said `I hope to never see you all again` (lets face it who wants to go to a Dr for biopsies ;) however if I do, I would always return to this clinic.
Could not be happier with my experience.
All I say is take into account you may have a little extra waiting on time on the day, or alternatively you can book elsewhere and wait several months.
Took my son told him all the trouble he has been having
Didnt listen to me, rushed, uncaring about my 2year old being so uncomfortable
Gave me a quick fix and told to come back in a month if not resolved
Which ive been going to doctors for this for 3 months i needed someone to help my child and nothing waste of time and money
I don’t get the bad reviews. Friendly staff and professional service. If anything, I was a pain by not having a mask and forgetting my referral. Dr. Tate was very thorough and actually treated another issue I had while I was there.
Heartless, arrogant and not very helpful. If his star rating is the same as the hottels ratings, he would be out of service in no time.
11: 45 am on 7/12 I went to the clinic and met Dr. Bruce Tale
1. I told him the current state of my facial skin
2. I showed him the pictures I kept on my phone (but he didn't see it and didn't care).
3. I brought a bag of medicine that I took and applied to you (you don't see and don't need to hear what I say)
4. My wish is for you to refer me for a blood test that you don't give
5. He didn't want me to say anything more and even kicked me out
I find this doctor has no heart, very very bad
I booked and waited 2 months to see the doctor, I had to take a day off
I was very angry, I met the receptionist and explained the incident, and I cried because I was so angry.
At that time, the nurse invited me into an office. Then the doctor would review the medicine for me …….
Overall too bad
After booking an appointment and waiting for 2 months, even taking a day of work, the dermatologist we met - Dr. Bruce Tate - refused to communicate properly with his patient - my mother -, refused to look at what medications she was taking for her skin condition, prescribed the same medications that didn’t work the last time my mother visited him and immediately dismissed us out of the room without letting us discuss anything between each other or with the doctor. He even forgot to tell us what skin disease my mom has. We felt that this particular doctor was not only callous and apathetic towards his patients but also extremely unhelpful. If my mom hadn’t directly complained to the receptionist, the doctor would not have changed his prescription to include more treatment options and explain which of the medications my mom was taking was helping her skin condition and which did not. All in all, I advise people to avoid booking this doctor, as both of his people skills, professional mannerism, prescription and treatment advice are terribly lacking.
I urge everyone not to waste your time and money here!
Dr. Tate a heartless, unprofessional, grumpy old man.
I’m a young male and I came in with severe rashes around my waste. He told me to take my shirt off so he can examine, so I did. There was plenty of rashes to get a clear look. What really bothered me was that Dr. Tate pulled a fair bit of my pants down, enough to show my pubic hair, and then he took a long look around there while his fingers on my pants. I was so worried about my problem I didn’t think of it much at the time. But I realised afterwards that there was absolutely no need for him to do that. I’m seeking support from my workplace as we deal with legal advice if I should take this matter further!
Beware, be safe and stay away from this doctor! Consultation was not helpful at all.
HOW IS THIS GUY STILL IN PRACTICE? ! Im with the last reviewer also, absolutely terrible, first time visiting him today and never ever again! Very rushed, couldn’t be bothered and wouldn’t listen to what i needed to tell him, didn’t even use the special tool they use! I have heaps of moles also!
I've seen Dr. Tate for a few years now and he has been great at providing me information about various pathways I could take for my skin condition. I started UVB therapy with this clinic and it has always been a positive experience for me. Even the receptionists are lovely.
Yes, wait times when you arrive at the clinic is sometimes long, but I would still reccommend this clinic to anyone who is looking for a good dermatologist.
Visited Dr Tate yesterday for my 10months old. Dr Tate has been so wonderful dealing with my boy. Jennifer the receptionist was so wonderful in looking after us. Great service.
I was desperate to see a dermatologist after getting chronic hives.
He was totally disinterested. Didn't offer any suggestions. Just wanted to put me on more prescription drugs and monthly injections. Even after I told him, I wanted to find the cause, he was not at all interested in offering any suggestions. I left totally disgusted. What a waste of $240.
Luckily, I found help online, and have been able to cure myself naturally! Stick your prescription drugs where the sun don't shine Dr Tate.
Can’t believe all the negative comments.
I’ve been a patient for several years now and I’ve found Dr Tate to be both professional and personable. Happy with results of his treatment of my various skin problems.
The Reception staff, also have gone out of their way to help me arrange appointments, even contacting me, when due to a cancellation, an earlier spot became available. 10/ 10 for them.
That just leaves the nurses. My interactions with them also, has been 100% positive. Cheerful, friendly and more importantly, very efficient.
Thanks to you all
Try to make an appointment with the receptionist to see Dr Tate but the date was too long so I ask if other Doctor is available ASAP, the receptionist (Jane) was so rude she hung up on me. This is the rudest receptionist I’ve ever spoke to. Very disappointed in their service
My mum went to the doctors today and they were extremely unproffesional, my mum had met a doctor and my mum had asked “why do I have this? “ and all he responded with was “because your human“ he didn’t give her full answers and precise ones to be exact, my mum doesn’t understand english so it was extremely hard to communicate with him but he didn’t care. He was extremely rude and unprofessional. My mum was very sad with this clinic.
This guy really needs to hang his boots up and do himself a favour before he really does major harm to someone!
He prescribed my daughter with a high doses of medication to treat what he diagnosed as a mild condition, barely told us what symptoms to look out for, barely spent 45 seconds examining her and spent the rest of the consultation behind his desk typing on his computer.
He began her medications without waiting for her swab results to come back or even doing any blood tests, and within a week she nearly ended up in hospital with major dehydration due to the high dose of Spiractin and major constipation due to the high dose of antibiotic which lead to other issues. I found her passed out on the bathroom floor at 2 am in the morning. Our gp, our pharmacist and a nurse were all suprised with the dosage of her medications and we were advised to stop immediately.
I have spent over a week trying to reverse all her symtoms and side effects from these medications.
Not happy at All!
Constant phone calls in the past 2 weeks to the clinic have been unheard and negelcted. Unsure if the dermatology is still open, yet to hear from them.
This place like is hell with the rude customer service especially the nurses and receptionists. I really want to give this place a zero star.
If i could give no stars I would, Do NOT waste your time going to this doctor, he is rude, cold, and unfriendly. Did not help my daughter at all. The nurses and admin staff need lessons in how to talk to patients, and learn some customer service. Total waste of $240. Don't go see this doctor, you will waste your money and come out with no outcome. Very unprofessional Doctor. Not impressed at all.
I wanted to extend a heartfelt thank you for the amazing care you showed my dad today. Your quality and integrity as a doctor and, more fundamentally as a person, shine through! We can't thank you enough for the excellent, professional service and skill you and your staff provided us with. We feel blessed to have been referred your way.
