Squires Loft Albert Park

Squires Loft never disappoints! Second time at this Albert park location as I always forget that there's one here.

Great hidden gem off St Kilda road so a must for any office workers around the area looking for a good steak place.

Like the others, food is 5/5 stars, same with the atmosphere as it's spacious and relaxing.

Customer service was great but just shy of being 4/5 stars from me due to the waiters/waitress not being attentive at the start when my group was seated but quickly that changed the moment we caught their attention.

Highly recommend this place and definitely will be looking at returning with my office colleagues or catching up with friends after work for a great feed.

Squires loft is always consistent. I absolutely love the pork ribs with basting on. Always amazing. Never dry and always cooked to perfection. Lovely cosy atmosphere and friendly staff. Would highly recommend. Albert park squires is my favourite but they are all equally as good for food.

We went for a nice birthday dinner, everything was fantastic and would definitely go back.

Food is always spot on, the atmosphere is quite intimate and calm compared to some of the others.
Great streaks, portions are at a suitable price point. Plenty of options for a great meal.
Parking is surprisingly easy if you're happy to walk 5 mins from St Kikda road to get there.

Edit: on our most recent visit the table service was actually a bit average from staff. Normally it's top notch.

The standard is unfortunately slipping in this place. Not what it used to be. Manager has a poor approach to any issues presented as our order was wrong and not even a sorry, made out to be our fault for ordering wrong. Wouldn’t be in a rush back. Poor attitude for food that is good but not cheap.

Usually I love the food here, but on my most recent visit to Squires Loft (Albert Park), I was very disappointed in the food. The quality seems to to have gone down. I asked for a medium rare steak and got a medium to well done steak. The service was also slow and not to the standard I expect. As I said, I am usually very happy, so hopefully this is a one off…

Best steak I’ve had in a while! Tasty and cooked to perfection. One of the most consistent of the Squires Lofts around Melbourne!

This place sits right at the top of Melbourne's steak houses. Their sauces alone are crazy good let alone steaks to perfection and ribs that are just unbelievably good.

I was keen for a great steak, so went to Squire's Loft for the 1st time. I decided to go for the 100 day dry aged rib eye that was recommended by our waitress for a mere $65. (Bare in mind I'm a meat eater and it's not the 1st time I've had a dry aged steak). Alright let's go with that, sounds good. You'd think it would melt in your mouth and have great flavour. Well what a disappointment. Each bite was soo tough my jaw was beginning to hurt. I should have just gone for the rump it would have been much tender and more flavoursome. If you do read my review. I would still recommend Squire's Loft but just stick with the traditional steaks, not worth the extra $20 - 35 for anything fancy.

What a great experience.
The food was outstanding absolutely fantastic the Dry Aged Ribeye steak was one of the best I have had. The service was fantastic, I tip my hat to the young Brazilian waitress as she guided us through the menu and was spot on with her suggestions an absolute asset to the restaurant.just a really fantastic meal and the best service I have received in a long time. I was with 2 other blokes and we all were extremely impressed with both service and food.

This is one of my absolute favourite restaurants. The food was first class. The dining room had a delightful ambience. The service was friendly. I ordered from the Specials menu and I wasn't disappointed. We were dining with both a young child and an elderly person in a wheelchair. The staff were very accommodating and helpful.

Squires Loft get the steaks right every time. The pork ribs are sensational too. There a great bar and wine selection available. There a decent selection of sides to go with the meals. Always a safe bet for a good meal out.

Got to be one of the best steaks i've ever had. Rib eye 300g done rare, perfectly cooked and what a cut. Didn't really need the knife. Really attentive service and clean and comfortable surrounds. Unbeatable for the price.

Food is amazing best one yet!
Service is way under average. At lunch they brought out the wrong order however I said it’s ok no problem to the waitress and she said are you sure and I said yes it’s fine. I started eating my burger. 2 minutes later my correct order arrives and the lady insisted I take my ordinal order and said you can have both I said wow thanks. I then said i won’t finish both can I have a take away she said yes and walked away when she returned she said “im sorry my manager wants to me to take the original order (wrong one) after I’d eaten half of it. To my response ok but it’s a bit of a waste to the reply was I know I disagree however wont argue. Horrible management from the senior the poor girl was made to feel awkward.

Customer service isn't the best here neither are the steaks.

They took awhile to get our order and it took them even longer to bring it out.

When our steaks were brought out they just put it on the table and didn't even say what was what and walked away without saying a single word.

The quality of the steak is below average. I ordered a Black Angus Rib-eye and it was not good at all. I think I've got a six-pack on my jaw from chewing. (I eat out A LOT at different steak joints and this one is one of less tastiest and below average quality).

Toilets aren't all that clean with urine all over the floor and seats. The soap dispenser isn't working aswell as the hand dryers being out-of-order so they have a communal roll of paper towel for everyone to share that's not in a holder so it's absolutely drenched from everyone touching it and using it.

Overall the place seems a little run-down. Maybe it needs something to bring the life back into it and maybe a new supplier of meat or better chef - who knows.

Not bad when they actually answer your calls to reserve table
(EDIT) now they dont even answer your calls at all. Im NOT PAYING $96 on my credit card to book a table for dinner. Are u serious. I shouldnt need to enter my card details online when im paying in cash.highly disaapointed. But im booked in elsewhere so there loss and it looked empty on the booking site. I wonder why. Customer servive is so important and to ask $96 and a credit card just to book will put so many off just like it did me.

First time back in a while, very disappointed with the steak and potato.
The steak was very chewy and extra bloody and just tasted like something from a supermarket. The potato was brown and soggy inside.

I have to say the steak was good however the the service was below average. After finishing our meals and waiting 40min for anyone to take notice and clean the table we ask for coffee and desert. Could not get any of the workers attention. When I did the dark coloured skin waitress who looked like she was the manager was ked over with the bill.when I asked why the bill, we haven't had desert or coffee. Her reply was (And)
I tell you what my partner stayed calm as she was close to getting a serve. The worst experience I've ever had at a squires loft and will never be back again nire do I recommend squires loft Albert Park.disgusting service and manners.

Went for the $65 all you can eat ribs on a Wednesday, the joint was packed in which certainly wouldn’t be the case without it. Ribs came out thick and fast and plentiful to the point which we were so full. Most of the ribs were really good quality and so yum but some were really small and a bit dry but no doubt they are just getting rid of some of the off cuts during this format. Would come again

Found the girl at the front with the Irish accent very cold, bordering on rude.

I asked for a table and she said “you can have a table by the window but you have to get out by 7: 30”

The waitress walked over put my steak on the table and walked off without saying a word?

I eat at several Squires and to be honest I felt unwelcome in this one.

Will drive the extra couple of km and eat at the South Yarra one from now on.

I’m sorry, don’t really leave bad reviews but this time certainly called for an exception.
