Sportsgirl reviews
7The staff here are amazing! They are great to talk to and offer some great advice. My favourite store atm:)
Update your business hours if you’re going to be closing 2 hours before the listed time!
Was helped out by Ashleigh today, she was really lovely. Had a great experience! Very neat store too. Awesome!
Friendly, helpful staff in Sportsgirl in Melbourne Central. The range of stock has something for everyone not only the very young. Great layout by the enthusiastic staff who had rearranged the stock and presentation on Thursday this week. Well done, staff. Worth a visit.
Lovely lasses in there today, so friendly and helpful, think it was Em who was a delight to chat with. Well done!
I went into sportsgirl in Melbourne city central and from the second I walked in I was followed continually by a working who kept asking me questions like “what exactly are you looking for”, I also had two small makeup items in my hand as I was wanting to purchase it and she kept asking me “to take it to the front counter and leave it there till I was finished shopping”. I was followed like crazy, every step I took she was breathing down my neck. I saw the workers all pointing and looking at me like I was some shop lifter which mind you, I work 2 jobs and I’m the complete opposite to a shop lifter. I decided there was no way I would purchase these small items now as I was followed and harassed so I put the items down and as I went to walk out, I was asked “what I did with the items” and she wanted to check my bag which had NOTHING in it. I understand they have a job but don’t make a 19 year old girl feel so uncomfortable when she has done nothing wrong. Worse shopping experience I have ever had.
Never usually leave reviews but this experience was exceptionally bad. On the 9/1 at about 2: 30/3 went into the store whilst visiting the city with my boyfriend and was looking for makeup for an event. Being a fan of the sportsgirl makeup line I visited the store after visiting mecca maxima to purchase other products. In particular I was looking for a highlighter as Id swatches a few before and they seemed like they'd fit the look. The rudest staff member was on the floor. Gave us the most insincere and ingenuine greeting, which I can look past as people have off days. But then the girl followed us to the makeup display and visibly loitered around myself and my boyfriend staring at us to the point he noticed and told me of her behaviour. I soon left as I thought this was just weird and it made me uncomfortable. When turning back around to exit the girl nearly running went to the exit to 'nab' us and then proceeded to ask to look in our bags. Now I understand all stores have policy but this girl rummaged through all the things, removed the bags from our hands, looked inside shoes and tops and then thrust the bags back after a minute or so and didn't even give a farewell. I'm a well presented young girl and similarly is my boyfriend, definitely not the 'shady' or shoplifting type. Made a really bad impression and I'm really considering not returning to this store again. Beyond disappointed as it was not only rude and invasive but disrespectful too.
