We have been a proud part of the SCG Community since 2016 and now have two daughters attending the school. The teaching and leadership team deliver an incredible learning environment that allows students to be challenged, inspired and grow. Our girls have take private music lessons at school for violin and piano, they've been able to participate in extra curricular activities such as the school musical - Matilda and swimming carnivals.

There is a strong work / leadership and learning ethic. The people in the community are great and we have been fortunate to form lifelong friendships with fellow families.

Would strongly recommend this school to anyone looking to invest in their child's education.

Absolutely terrible school. I left that school in the 4th grade and in all my 5 years I was at that school for, it was hell. The junior school principal was terrible and she doesn’t know how to handle kids. I got in a huge rivalry with a classmate and all she did was give us candy. Most of the kids are mean too. They would get in arguments all the time. I’m so happy that I left Southern Cross Grammar, if you are going to Southern Cross Grammar I highly recommend that you leave.

Looking at enrolling 6 kids in this school so anyone with more recent experience would be greatly appreciated. All the pros/cons please.

-teachers here are unqualified for the standards of a private school (let alone a public one)
-the school is practically a public school that you pay to attend
-the school hides its mistakes to appeal to the parents considering enrolling their child, who unknowingly enrol in this school without knowing the reality
-the school brags about its programs however they do little to assist students who need the most help
-the school takes credit for the individual successes of students

A very good STEM school in this area. From the days I gave seen the establishment the school has grown enormously and very modern.
My son goes here, very good progress in my sons performance in academic, sport and arts. Highly recommend if your children are wanting to improve in their studies.

The only downside I say is the ground is small, but I see they started using community sport grounds in the area which are close by.

I also recommend principal to focus on teacher attrition and retain good teachers.

Southern Cross Grammar is a school that doesn't keep its promises, even if its been emailed or mentioned at assembly. Their education is under par for a private school of this calibre and some teachers have a negative attitudes towards teaching and students through all years. Some teachers seem unqualified in some areas.

Im okay with this school however there is a.l. O.t. To improve some subjects have great teachers e.g. English however majority of the electives have poorly chosen teachers random teachers are sometimes used as substitutes. Subjects at this school push you to your limits, deadlines are hard to meet, and recently there has been a large focus on mental and spiritual wellbeing but not on academics.
Overall, i would recommend this school to your child to use as a preschool but not a prep to 12 school

Southern Cross Grammar is actually the 3rd most highly educated school in Caroline springs. The school isn’t bad at all. The people giving the school 1 star is because they’re too lazy to learn properly. Southern cross doesn’t have rude teachers the teachers are very friendly.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about the school.on one hand, the school pushes everyone to be the best version of themselves, to achieve their maximum and they want everyone to be the best version of themselves, and this means that everyone is preforming at their best,

but with that, the school does not praise creative students nearly in the same regard as they praise their logical-thinking students. (as an example, a student who is brilliant at creating code and robots will be praised much more than a student who is brilliant at art and sculpture.)
.
.
.

the school is extremely modern, and all of the buildings look beautiful and clean, and our school offers a high influence for using technology in learning (laptops, ipads, etc.)
.
.
.
one consistent problem is that the teachers are constantly leaving.in the past term, the former head of english & the former head of mathematics resigned from their positions without telling anyone. - not only are the students pushed to the max, but so are the teachers.
.
.
.
if your child is highly academic, and is well-established in the STEM programs, (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) then this is the perfect school for them, your child will win awards and be praised, while also continuing their learning journey further.
.
.
.
but, if your child doesn't consistently achieve high marks, and is more of a creative than a logical, than this is probably not the school you are looking for. - your child will be pushed to their limits, and if they achieve average grades, the school will make them feel like that is below the expected level.

Very messy management, new deputy abuses staff all the time forcing them to leave or suffer but no one seems to care. A school can't be a good one if the leadership is bad.

Last year i joined the school, teachers and students were nice to me. Ever since the start of 2018 things went down dramatically, students blamed another for doing things they didn't do teachers are ruder and don't treat anyone equally and because of that, it has changed the way i am. Extremely Disappointed.

This school is not great, no impressed.
A great school is Heathdale College. I actually made progress there, not here.

I've been here with this school for 7 years and never disappointed until last year when there was a change of management in 2017.

This is my 6th year at this school and I haven't faced any academic problems because the method of teaching is easy to follow and challenges those who need it while staff assist those who are weak in specific areas with different difficulty tasks. Have gotten great scores from exams, tests and assessments and look forward to completing VCE at this school. Great school and would recommend it to many. I have been to 3 different schools before SCG and I have had to move schools very frequently, in need of good staff and people, and then finally found this school in 2013. Staff is Great. People are Great. Environment is Great. Southern Cross Grammar is Great.

A beautiful modern school had great initial set up, used to have many great teachers and students, but went dramatically downhill since 2017, when some new managements joined the school. Needs good leaders to attract good teachers, staff and students to stay.

The new art teacher Ms Hewet has been blaming my children for when they are doing the right thing.
