South Melbourne Family Practice

A tourist with a sick 4 year old. It was so frustrating to find a clinic here that would accept walk-ins. Been going around to 3 clinics earlier before we finally got to this clinic.

So grateful to the helpful receptionist, who so kindly helped slot us into the doctor’s schedule, although the doctor was already running late at 6pm.

And Dr Joie Fay was so gentle and kind to my son was empathetic towards us. Gave us the prescriptions and my son got immediately better.

Again so grateful to have bumped into this clinic. Thank you!

As a new patient, was overwhelmed with the enthusiastic welcome at reception (so different to my previous clinic) and then the initial consultation with Emma was comprehensive and felt immediately comfortable. Highly recommend.

I pwould like to formally express my concerns about my experience with Dr. Ling Zheng as a General Practitioner in Melbourne. I have found Dr. Zheng's professionalism and attitude during our interactions to be subpar. I believe that my expectations for a healthcare provider, particularly in the capacity of a GP, are not being met, and I am dissatisfied with the level of service and care provided. I would appreciate a thorough review of my concerns and appropriate action to rectify the situation. My hope is that this feedback leads to an improvement in the quality of service provided to patients.

Super easy to sign up, book an appt the same day, and the ladies at reception were so nice. Such a cute environment for a medical hub. Dr. Carr is brilliant!

Best medical centre I've ever been to. Every staff member I have encountered has been excellent, professional as well as genuinely friendly. The most caring nurses and reception you can find and Dr Nick is absolutely amazing! Thank you to everyone there for being able to restore me to health when the hospital could not.

I cannot rate this clinic highly enough! Reception Staff are wonderful, so personal and genuine - I feel so welcomed every time I go in. Dr. Emma is wonderful, kind, knowledgeable and very thorough. I am so happy to have found her.

Waited more than half an hour before we see the GP we booked. Be careful of the costs. The description on HealthEngine states bulk billing for children under 16 but they don’t even accept kid’s Medicare care card and can only charge to the parent directly.

I see Dr Ian Devlin annually for a skin check. He is very thorough in his examination and very courteous in his manner with patients. I would highly recommend him!

I had a great experience here. I suspected my ailment was possibly less than the signs of chest pain sometimes make us think as we get older. I was treated in a kind, professional and orderly fashion… if it weren’t for my Apple maps saying they are permanently closed for some strange reason? I would’ve called here first. The other place I called seemed to think I needed to go to the ER.

I had to wait more than half an hour (after my appointment time) There was no explanation as to why the waiting list was so long. Why not contact the patient (face to face) or via text and let them know what is happening. Anyway without any communication, I had to leave, due to other commitments.

I am an American who was traveling in Melbourne. I had a residual cough after recovering from the flu. South Melbourne Medical Hub fit me in for an appointment. The nurse at the front desk was very nice and patient with me. Dr Nick Carr was friendly and provided me with a prescription which quickly.stopped my cough. I was very pleased with the service and so glad I called them.

I haven't been to this clinic in a long time and I was immediately impressed by the very friendly and helpful vibe of the staff. Everyone from the front desk, to the doctors popping in and out, were relaxed, happy and welcoming. This makes such a difference to other clinics who are so stressed and officious that they lose the point of being in Healthcare.

Wonderful experience from the booking of my appointment by phone to seeing the doctor. The clinic was lovely and clean and I was greeted by very friendly reception staff. The doctor was on time and explained everything very clearly. Would most certainly reccomend

Having been to a lot of clinics and interacted with a lot of doctors, I can safely say Dr Nick Carr is one of the most understanding and professional doctors I have come across. I honestly think I would have been waiting 6+ more months to be where I am now had it not been for him. The rest of my family have now gone to see him and had similar experiences.
Mel at reception is also very lovely which just makes the whole experience enjoyable. Even having moved out of the city, I will continue to come back to South Melbourne Medical Hub.

Wasn't aware I had to grab a number to get bloods. Wait 40mins for my turn. Staff know I've been waiting.let them know earlier on that I didn't realize I had to grab one.eventually once my turn should be up told, oh you didn't grab a number you'll have to start again.sorry.

Never had any problems here, despite the high pressure on staff at times. I love the cultural mix here from reception, nurses, right through to the drs. I sometimes think bad reviews are the result of cultural misunderstandings and high pressure situations. They all have a tough job on their hands, and i appreciate all they try to achieve especially under recent pandemic conditions. Dr. Rijad is our family dr and is so reliable, knowledgeable, and caring. Offers us comforting follow through when needed. He's the best
