South Beach Project reviews
66Great menu, great food, great staff.just a good place to have a relaxing breakfast with family and freinds
Good food, great location. Have had many great visits but today the waiter took our order but didn’t write it down. As soon as he left and I realised he hadn’t I said to my wife “I hate it when they don’t write down orders! ”. Sure enough, my scrambled
Eggs came out poached! Write down the orders!
The eggs Benedict is awesome. The bacon on it was delicious. Friendly service and good coffee too. Great setting, right opposite the beach and away from the main shops.
Customer service good. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice location. Vietnamese Chicken Salad was disappointing Very little chicken and lacking in flavour. 6 of us had same dish and all left feeling it was just coleslaw with a bit of chicken and coriander thrown in. Apparently the egg dishes were good.
Fabulous family beach that accommodates huge numbers of people without overcrowding. Parking is a nightmare in peak periods
Really good place. Fantastic views to the sea (too bad the road is in the middle though).
The menu is not super large, but the dishes we tried were very tasty.
Also the size is good.
Recommended if you’re around.
One of Melbourne's best function venues, with an idyllic location, warm homely decor and unbelievably great service. The food was fantastic too, the SBP team worked with us to design a custom menu that our guests still rave about to this day.
I have been to SBP many many times and usually its awesome, unfortunately today it really wasn't. We are seated in the undercover bit, That's fine. We didn't have a booking. They turn on the heaters but the roller plastic cover things are open on the bottom so it didn't matter because every bit of warmth was sent right back outside.
The service today, as usual is fantastic. Nice loud, clear voice from a young man who seated us quickly and came and got a coffee order quickly as well. Fantastic by him, and a young girl came and took a food order very shortly as well. The service here is ALWAYS fantastic.
I spent $25 today on 5 or 6 small bits of pork in a bowl full of coriander flavoured vermicelli noodles. Incredibly disappointed. The whole meal was ~$75 or something, which is fine but today the food just really really did not hit the mark.
Unfortunately the website says you can’t book before 2 pm, so we didn’t, but when we tried to do a walk in they say it’s fully booked for hours. I have been here before so this is a little disappointing.
Possibly the best eggs in Mount Martha. Best on a sunny day with a coffee, sitting out in front with the ocean breeze and people watching.
We were looking for somewhere yum for breakfast while heading to Melbourne CBD from Rye, and saw the reviews here for South Beach. It lived up to expectations. All 3 of us loved our breaky choices. The coffee was great too. The French Toast was on a specials board, and when I complimented on how delicious it was and suggested it should make it to the regular menu, with a smile the wait staff knew "You're not a local then" (yep, from a whole different state). Every staff member was exceptionally friendly and made us want to stay longer rather than keep driving. I envy the locals there.
Not good value for money. I ordered scrambled egg on toast and it was a kids size meal. My wife ordered avo and toast and that too was very ordinary.

Took over an hour to be served and get our food. No apology or recognition from the staff. The food was OK and the coffee decent.
If you like Luke warm food and weak coffee at high prices this is the place for you
Staff were friendly but that’s as far as it went
1 star is generous
Delicious food, friendly service & locally sourced produce. A memorable lunch and I will be coming back.
Thanks team for an awesome breakfast today. Our party of three enjoyed the excellent food and coffee, and the friendly service was much appreciated. Well done!
Had a fantastic breakfast, enjoyed the array of options to add into a brekky
My partner enjoyed her açai bowl
Only thing we didn’t love was the coffee found it a bit weak, but order it strong and it would be lovely
Great customer service great food relaxing atmosphere really worth coming to good value for money
“That was bordering on magnificent! ” - my mum’s summation of her duck and lychee salad. My Nasi Goreng warranted the same comment. First time visitors and definitely not last time ones! Absolutely delightful, with outdoor seating with sun and shaded areas. 100% worth it!
