Sounds Right Speech Pathology

Speech therapists here are great but please note their cancellation fee and the fee they are charging clients.

They require a 7day cancellation notice and if not provided they will charge the full cancellation fee.

I provided 6 days and 19hours notice and they have still proceeded to charge me a full cancellation fee which in turn has been direct debited from my account.

Also to note there are very specific reasons to not charge a cancellation fee as stated in their policy e.g serious car accident and death of immediate family.

Never had an issue with the clinic until their policy changed to a 7 day notice and their fee has also increased higher that than $193.99 NDIS rate.

Very disappointed and I have had to proceed to escalate to NDIS.

The directors are all about monies, nothing about the kids growing, the culture is intense. Cancelled our services with the therapist (after being with them for over 2 years) due to wanting to go back on the verbal agreement of monies paid a day after service, as they need there monies on the day. No further discussion just cancel. As that's in the best interest of the child. Are they there for the kids or just to make monies off ndis? Invoicing for more hours than given because "they can and it's not your monies" (this company is good making up stories to suit there narrative, they will with hold facts and agreements they have made to suit what there new decision) NOT about the kids as you can see from the reply below. ITS only about money, that's why staff has left. Instead of calling a customer and speaking to them about going against there verbal agreement, to resolve there issue, instead they cut services to a Childs support.there wasn't an issue the whole year and 10 months of service and payment! But due to the decision of sound right to charge 1.2 hours for the child (more money in there pocket) but only give the child 45 min session, as they need to put there pricing up.and not give anything extra to the child. Now they want excuses to get rid of any parent that has complain about this matter so the new parent knows no different. Interesting.

UPDATE- Our daughter has now finished up for the time being- however we wont be returning due to the cancellation policy which is ridiculous. I was in hospital and had a certificate for proof and was still charged the full amount $193.00. My daughter also fell sick a day before her session and again we were charged. Cancellation policy states must give 48 hours notice. Unfortunately kids fall ill at the drop of a hat, we cant control that and to still be charged when I had proof from the hospital is insane. Emma the lovely receptionist was great and tried to help out with my situation but unfortunately it wasn't her decision. I cant afford almost $200 when my kid or myself are sick within 48 hours especially with todays cost of living. Regardless of weather therapy is funded or not!

Our daughter started speech therapy with Isabella in February this year. 3 months in and I am very happy with her speech sessions. Isabella is extremely attentive, knowledgeable, flexible, friendly, and is very good at communicating after each session and anything required in between sessions. At the end of the day I have received our report from the session along with any resources we may require. In addition she is very good at keeping our daughter engaged during the entire 45 minute session. Isabella is a big asset to Sounds Right speech and I highly recommend her to anyone.

My daughter has had 2 different speech therapists here and both are/were excellent. My daughters current therapist Georgia is super friendly, very engaging and able to adapt her therapy to my daughter’s needs.

Anyone looking for a caring, supportive place for your child's speech needs Sounds Right is an amazing company. My Son has been to both centers and everyone is wonderful, cannot fault his speech pathologist and all the staff are friendly and welcoming.

I wish I could give Sounds Right Speech Pathology right 6 stars! We are so happy with this service. Patricia has an amazing team who are always so supportive and professional, not just with the actual therapy but with everything else that goes with it
We've been engaged with speech therapy with my son since before his diagnosis at age two until now (he's six and in prep) and Sounds Right have been there with us every step of the way
Always 1000% reliable, I've never had to chase up a report or a letter, which makes a huge difference when scrambling for funding etc.

Fantastic staff and highly professional and competent therapists have been a massive help to our son and entire family to the point that he's flourishing in school in his first year. The progress that he has made over has been exceptional and astounding. The experience we have had is a credit to the organisation. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Not sure the name of the therapist that came to my place, not sure if you'd even call her a therapist. She came out to my place, was a nice young girl but I don't think she had any idea what she was doing.
She barely interacted with my child, the only thing she did say about him was that she can tell he loves the ocean. She wanted to take videos of me interacting with my child and she gave me a massive book that teach ways how I should be interacting with my child.

30mins later she packed up and left, and sent an invoice for $480.30minutes? She charged me $480 for a book and to take a few photos. I'm not paying you to teach me how to be a speech therapist for my child. I'm paying you for your profession. And no professional service was provided from your end.

I just can’t thank the team at Bundoora sounds right speech enough for the wonderful work they are doing for our children. Ruby and Mel have been fantastic to deal with. The care, guidance and support they have given is wonderful! My daughter Trinitee was a late talker and with all the strategies and techniques that were given to me helped my daughter learn to talk. It was the best feeling hearing words ️. I’m even using what I’ve learnt on my second child. Thank you for everything you really helped calm my nerves and give me the support I needed.

Isabella has been super supportive and patience to my son i couldnt ask for more. Sounds right speech has been amazing we have been with them since my son was diagnosed.

We have worked with Sounds Right Speech Pathology for over 12 months now, and they are a professional, caring and genuine company!

We’ve been with Sounds Right since early 2019 and we’ve been so happy there! Laura and the team are wonderful, my son fits in so well there and despite Covid throwing a spanner in the works we were helped to transition to Telehealth so smoothly that my son kept making gains in his sounds. Highly recommend!

My daughter Mia has been seeing Ruby for nearly a year now, we had started in June last year & then we had to do video chat due to covid & back in the centre when restrictions eased, in that time Ruby has been amazing in teaching Mia sounds, sentences & words, she has picked up so much from her & cannot believe how far she's come from Ruby's teaching, she's always so nice to the both of us & always so encouraging to Mia, we felt comfortable straight away with Ruby & mia loves her, I cannot thank Ruby enough that she is her speech pathologist well done & sounds right are always so friendly & amazing to us & have recommended you all to people & the ones that need your services.

My nearly 5 yr old daughter has been seeing Ruby at Sounds Right for about 3 months on a fortnightly basis and we’re seeing some great results! The sessions are engaging and the right blend of fun and speech aerobics to hold my wriggly 5yr olds attention. My daughter has established a good relationship with Ruby and looks forward to attending!

My daughter has been very lucky to go here for almost 2 years now, and all the staff are friendly and professional.

We are seeing Fiona. A four years old boy has been diagnosed as Autism. He talked and repeating me since this morning. Gosh it is not even 3 months yet. They teach you how to create communication with your child which you will see more and more eye contact, more and more interaction and communication. Finally, the moment came.
