Great first impression from a very well established company, with a jingle that goes back decades (!) Very helpful when I needed cables in the midst of a pandemic.

Would never go back to Soundair. I bought a $400 secondhand amplifier from Brad. He raved about it. Unfortunately after 1 week, it blew up. I took it back to be repaired, as it was still under warranty. Days later, he rang me to say he would not cover the warranty because I had brought the amplifier back "not in the condition he sold it to me". What!? !? I have been buying high-end hifi gear for 45 years, and have NEVER had this happen, even with secondhand gear. Brad was loudly telling me that if I wanted my amp repaired, it would cost me $200, even though I only had it for 1 week, and it was still under warranty. So eventually I reluctantly paid, to get the amplifier back. Not to mention the faulty tapedeck he sold me a couple of years ago. Let this be a warning to anyone who may purchases or get repairs from this man.

My husband and I decided to upgrade some speakers a few months ago and we couldn't have come to a better place to do so. I thought I'd be bored out of my mind tagging along to something I know nothing about but I had so much fun doing the sound test to pick out which speakers we liked the most (and chitchatting about Harry Potter and Japan!). Amazingly enough, my hubby and I ended up liking the same ones so that's what we went with.

Brad was very kind, knowledgable and patient and as someone who usually feels pressure (in my own mind!) to buy something when I walk into a store, I felt so comfortable and relaxed at Soundair that we ended up harrassing him to give us suggestions on subwoofers and well.basically a whole new Hi Fi system. Wayne was also lovely and very patient and you can tell that they both love what they do.

Because of the lockdowns in Melb, we have had many of our renovations and furniture/package orders be delayed or postponed etc.but Brad has been the only one to keep in touch with us regularly this entire time to update us on our order and just to check in and see how we're doing. Not only this but he has gone above and beyond with everything that we ordered or asked about but didn't buy, that it feels more like a good friend helping us out.

Whether you're an audiophile or completely clueless like me, Soundair is the place to go. Customer service like this is so rare these days, the prices are more than reasonable and Brad will work well within your budget. We are absolutely in love with our Hi Fi system and it's not even completely set up yet.

Also, if you're nice and lucky enough, Brad may even let you test out the 'bladder buster'.

Don’t get anything repaired here.

I took my beautiful, rare, vintage turntable in to Soundair to have a single wire resoldered. For over 40 years it had been a complete unit.

Nine months later, after months of excuses (one of which was legitimate), I received my turntable back. One simple wire was all it needed to be soldered. It was handed back sheepishly. I noticed that the hand turned aluminium, magnetic antiskate wire holder was missing.

For the next 2 years, I called and dropped in, hoping it had been found. I received a thousand promises that it would be found, was being sorted and/or being searched for (lies). One day I dropped in to the store to excitement. “I’ve been waiting for you. I’ve lost your contact details. We’ve got something for you! ” I was overjoyed as Brad wandered out the back. “Here it is” he said as he handed me a cheap plastic and wire version of the missing part, still with the double sided tape from the unit he ripped it from stuck to the bottom. Not a second of apology for losing the original part.

My now 45 year old transcription turntable is incomplete and seemingly never to be reunited and I am forever shattered for the loss.

So, heed my words, take your precious HiFi equipment here at your peril. There is no care here, despite the lovely lip service paid to you.

What a wonderful store! I have been buying my equipment from Soundair for over 10 years. The customer service is second to none. Recently I bought the magnificent Rega Rp8. This purchase was plague with bad luck and faulty equipment but the Brad at Soundair was fantastic. He handled the situation with professionalism and care and made sure I was completely happy with my purchase in the end. So I like to thank you and Tim (R.i. P) for years of audio bliss.

I have bought my husband a turn table, amplifier, speakers and a tape deck over a 3 year period and Brad has always been lovely and helpful. Especially for someone that knows nothing about music or the equipment. I would highly recommend.

Great service. I bought some second hand speakers from Soundair a couple of years ago and when my amp died they matched a new amp to suit those speakers which have Kef drivers and take a lot of current to do so.

Appalling. Poor workmanship and no communication. AVOID.

They took over 8 months to try to repair an item. During that time, they failed to diagnose the fault correctly and there was absolutely no attempt by Soundair to keep me updated. I had to call them and was fobbed off with promises that it would be done "soon", then no follow up communication. Finally when I call, the proprietor tells me he has lost my details, then when I go in to collect the item the paperwork is in the box with the item. To add insult to already contemptible service, he offers me a part refund, which he says will be by cheque when his "busy accounts lady" has time to process it.

Professional, thorough, balanced approach to hi fi sales. Haven't bought gear from these guys for over 10 years, but was welcomed back like an old friend. Very happy!

Only stocks really high quality stuff, and are very helpful in finding the right equipment. Feels like a very personal store experience and they're one of the only stores I've found in the area with Klipsch speakers and headphones
