SOM Blinds

If I could add five more stars I would! We are so happy with our beautiful Markilux extendable awning. One press of the somfy controller and out she goes. Bernie and Fiona came out to discuss options and offer their excellent advice. Once the decision was made to go ahead, the blind took only a few weeks to arrive from Germany. Being an apartment, it had to be craned into place. Bernie did all this with great skill and attention to detail. The awning is excellent German quality and design. We love it. Bernie returned a few weeks later to make sure we were happy with the awning and to fine tune it so that it automatically retracts if the wind gets up. We cannot speak highly enough of Bernie and his team. Don't go anywhere else for your awnings or blinds of any sort. He is the absolute best in the business. (I hope you can see the photographs of our awning that I have posted, because it looks fantastic).

I would highly recommend Som Blinds for internal and external Blinds. We did a major renovation and we worked closely with them with our colours and fabrics for internal rollers and hanging curtains and couldn't be happier with all the results.
We especially love the motorised roller blinds in our family room which open and close with the touch of a button. I would suggest getting them involved early in your plans to accommodate any tracks or power needed. We added an external blind 2 years later which completely stops the west facing sun heating the room so a huge success. Their aftercare is also second to none!

We used SOM Blnids for our recent extension, including both internal and external motorised blinds. Bernie and his team were nothing short of outstanding. High level customer service and attention to detail throughout the entire process. The staff were all incredibly knowledgeable and helpful during the initial design phase. The installation was seamless. The team arrived on time, were super polite and respectful of our home. They went above and beyond, ensuring we were satisfied with the finished product. Overall, just a fantastic family run, reliable company, producing high quality blinds.

We had electric blinds, shutters and curtains installed in our renovated period home in Elsternwick, the guys at SOM did a fantastic job. They paint matched all the shutters and they look awesome. Competitively priced and quality installation, would recommend to anyone considering installing new blinds, shutters etc.

Having now experienced SOM Blinds firsthand, I fully appreciate why they‘ve received so many brilliant reviews. Ours was far from a straightforward installation, but rain or shine, Bernie and team stuck to the task with good humour, genuine care, and exceptional attention to detail. The motorised Markilux awning they installed is fabulous—our only regret is that we didn’t order it a decade ago! Given the interest the awning has created among our neighbours, we expect that funky van of SOM’s will become a regular visitor to our street for a long time to come.

SOM Blinds installed beautiful plantation shutters in our heritage style house. The installers were prompt, tidy and pleasant.
