Had a strange experience, which I believe the public/owner needs to be aware of. We attended this morning (have not been here before) after attending to personal matters at the post office to get coffee/tea and maybe something to eat. We did not order food as we were put off by the confusion/angst around our drink order. We were served by a girl who appeared to speak OK English and to understand everything we said EXCEPT for our tea and coffee orders. I do understand that some young people do not understand when you order 'white tea', so I patiently explained it was tea with milk. The girl was exasperated and did not know what I meant or had ordered. I had to point to the menu. My brother tried to order a latte and she didn't know what he meant by coffee or what a latte was. I asked if she had just started working (and therefore did not know the menu) at the cafe and she said she had worked there a long time. I then said that I found it weird that after some time, she did not know what tea or coffee was, especially considering it is a Cafe and tea and coffee was sold all day, everyday and is your bread and butter. She certainly understood what I was saying (not sure about the bread and butter comment) and responded by inferring we should go if we had a problem. She also suggested we were racist, which we are not in any way, shape or form. My brother changed his order to hot chocolate as she just didn't understand him at all. Later on, he successfully ordered a coffee by going inside and asking the barista who understood him. A second waitress brought out our drinks and we told her about the strange experience. She was not unpleasant but very defensive of the first waitress. She said she didn't speak good English, but did say she would talk to her. Both disappeared. We confirmed with the second waitress that the girl had worked there for sometime prior to them disappearing. The barista brought out my brother's coffee and asked if we would like some water. We said yes. The first waitress (the non coffee/tea one) brought the water out and was sullen and slammed the water down and glared at us. I own a restaurant. We recently parted ways with our relative who had been working with us for several years over similar behaviour (eg she was rolling her eyes at customers that dared to order a drink, she was super aggressive for no reason, slamming down food and drinks and had an intermittent history of this). I am writing this so the owner is aware that such behaviour is upsetting to customers. This girl needs to learn about what tea and coffee is. Whilst we are sympathetic to a new person not understanding certain words and someone struggling with English, we fail to understand how someone who has worked at a cafe for some time, is incapable of doing her basic job. Even if she happened to be new, surely someone would be with her for training until she is capable of doing the job. At all times we were unemotional, pleasant and patient. There is no excuse for behaviour blaming us when poor service has been given and for being aggressive without cause. If she has worked there for some time, why has management not picked up on and addressed this?

Love love love Sir Dukes! The staff are always ace and they make the best brownies. Nicola in particular is fantastic!

Such a great cafe; First time visitors and will definitely be returning. The service was efficient, food was delicious and fairly priced. I recommend their ‘Wednesday $19.00 Parma’ special. Management is on the mark with this business!

Morning brunch saw us attend here and I was all set to get some scrambled eggs to I saw the Cuban Sandwhich or aka Cubano on the menu.
Not the best Cubans I have had and it lacked flavour.
My morning freshener drink was quite good.
Staff were super friendly and accommodating.
I'd go back again.
Good menu variety but lunch menu not served to 1130.

Overall, the experience here was great! The service was a bit slow but considering the fact that the place was packed it’s totally understandable. We accidentally spilt a coffee and a waitress by the name Syrian (unsure how to spell her name, apologies) helped clean it up, gave us a cloth in case there was anything she missed, we got a free coffee even though the spill was our fault entirely. We ordered 1x The Aussie Dream, 1x Spice Chai latte, 1x Fancy Cheeseburger that came with fries, 1x Limonata, 1x Orange Juice & 1x Chicken Parma. The Aussie Dream tasted a bit average, the coffee was DELICIOUS though! Cheeseburger was good but definitely could’ve tasted better as the cheese tasted a bit off but other than that it was delicious! The fries tasted like literal heaven, not much of an opinion on the Chicken Parma. The juices were good and fresh, limonata was super sour however. I strongly recommend this place!

Had a bagel and the bread tasted old… the salmon inside it was nice. The chips that cost $11.00 was a small serving and also didn’t taste fresh. Paid enough at this joint to receive poor quality food. Will not come back again.

Went to Sir Duke yesterday and loved it! It’s now my new favourite spot. Sat outside and the girl who served us was busy but very accommodating and remembered our entire order! Service, food and coffee were all 5 stars! Great job everyone I will be back!

Visited on the 29/04/2023, the service was unfriendly, our latte and almond chai tasted terrible and the wait time was way too long!

Understand mothers day lunch, it's gonna be busy, but my daughter had booked a table 2 weeks prior, long wait to check in, then was given our table, sat and waited for waiter service, tables were getting cleared for new customers, while they received waiter service before we even did, not one waiter came to take our orders, had to wave one down, it was like we had a disease, probably not again for a meal.

Really enjoyed their twist on an Eggs Benedict dish. Their sauce is absolutely amazing and unique. Their large breakfast (can't recall the exact name) was good aside from the toasted bread being way too hard on the gums to eat. Juice tastes incredibly fresh and was a great accompaniment. Overall a good experience and wonderful service!

Grilled chicken salad $26. Was average in taste & a simple dish with about 5 pieces of chicken and mostly salad. Not worth the price when it consists of mostly salad. Realistic price is $19. Won't be back.

Had breakfast here and it was such a disappointing experience. I have been here before and never had a terrible experience like this. Ordered a big breakfast, we were never asked how we will like our eggs cooked. It was brought with eggs half raw which I don’t eat, the toast and hashbrown was soggy and I stopped eating them. Not worth the price at all.

Food came out hot, staff were lovely. Coffees were very slow - place was only half full, took 15 mins. Table wasn't cleared for 35 mins.

Great place!

Food overall was excellent and reasonably priced. Chilli scrambled eggs were great however the toast was a little soggy. The hash browns were also a standout.

Would recommend if you are in the Moonee Ponds/Puckle St area.

Delicious parmas and drinks. We were a bit disappointed with the service - rude wait staff and it took about 45 minutes for someone to come and take our drink order. Might come back, not sure yet.

Have been here before and it was fantastic on every level, went today with friends so so disappointed in the food, service, staff just everything will definitely not be going back or recommend this place to anyone, how embarrassed I was that I took friends there bill $160 for 4 people and also no child's menu and milk shake and iced coffee should be called hot not cold at all! Yuck Yuck Yuck.
