Singh's Bala Da Dhaba reviews
36By far my favourite Indian food in the area. Authentic food with an incredible variety of flavours, served by lovely people.
I agree with other people’s comments.very disappointing food and food test.all veg curries are unbelievable. Don’t know whether owner or chef changed but back in 2007 or 2008, the food was absolutely delicious and testy.never visit again. Sorry Bala Da Dhaba Team.
Absolutely disgusting. This is by far the *worst* Indian food I've had in Melbourne and I'm actually angry I paid money for this trash.
The Dahl is bland; I realise it's supposed to be a fairly mild dish but the flavour seems to have evaporated.
The Lamb Rogan Josh was bland and underseasoned, and left a puddle of water under the rice.
The Malai Kofte was aggressedly sweetened to the point the sauce tastes like sugar.
The Aloo Palak was bitter and again tasteless.
The owners should be disgusted that this is what they're putting out into the world and charging money for.
We want to do order on call staff is very rude owner also very rude. I advise no one order from Bala da dhabha. Very bad experience.we cancel the order
PRE-COVID, It used to be good restaurant, and the staff was proactive. Now the food quality dropped, they have some attitude and the owner Hardik doesn’t even greet their regular customers, and pretends he is extremely busy even the restaurant is empty.
Absolutely delicious & generous portions, too. Loved all the dishes we had on the night, there’s nothing much to fault about the flavour.
The sizzling tandoori mushrooms starter are a must.
Amazing service and just as amazing food
Everything was delicious. Even had the whole place to ourselves. Try dining in for once instead of takeaway. Keep up the good work!
Good people & good food. Chicken tikka is nice and fresh, garlic naan the same and curries great for sharing.
Combination of traditional and modern Indian food, Friendly staff with family friendly space. Must try chicken tikka, samosa and Indian beer Kingfisher
Really disappointing. Bland, tasteless. Calamari pakora (rings) looked like they came straight out of a bag and tasted synthetic. Both butter chicken and korma very bland, tasteless, and chicken had consistency as if boiled. Had to add salt and pepper to create any flavour. Will not be ordering again.
Awesome food. I don't eat in Melbourne restaurants much. But the food here was authentic delhi style. Just ask for spicy kofta curry and crispy rotis.
Very good food.best in and around the area. Go for spicy food.you need mention you like it hot. And then see the magic of authentic North Indian cooking. Rotis were crispy and amazing too.
Service was 10/10, the serving sizes for anything vegetarian are massive - maybe 2 people, the meat serving sizes are enough for 1 person + a little bit more. The garlic naan is legendary, if you get anything here make sure it’s a garlic naan. Complementary papa dams are also given when you sit down.
The family and friends are still talking about the wonderful buffet dinner! Thanks Red. Delicious food and great service!
Delicious food and friendly staff who were very accomodating of dietary requirements - looking forward to coming back ️
Absolutely delicious Indian food, service warm and friendly too
Thanks guys, we’ll be back!
Outstanding service. I’m a new customer and would highly recommend to anyone looking for genuine, great service and food. They even customized my meal for English (spicy) tastebuds!
So good. Thank you and see you soon
So disappointing and underwhelming. Tasteless.insipid food that left a lot to be desired. After reading reviews we thought we would give this place a try. The food took just over an hour and a half to arrive, and the one samosa that came in the serve was totally tasteless. The lamb chops were so-so, the tandoori prawns were passable, though very dry, and the saag paneer was the most swamp coloured muck you have ever seen and totally flavourless. The garlic naan was tough and ultra dry and just totally unappetising. Very disappointing and food that just lacked in every way, with zero flavour. Terrible.
I agree with other people’s comments.very disappointing food and food test.all veg curries are unbelievable. Don’t know weather owner or chef changed but back in 2007 or 2008, the food was absolutely delicious and testy.never visit again. Sorry Bala Da Dhaba Team.
Terrible food and even terrible service. Eat here at your own peril. I am Indian and can surely say that what they serve is not even near Indian food.
When I asked to see the chef, I was told he is too busy to come out given that we were the only people dining. What a tosser.
Complete waste of time and money.
