Sinclair Hair
Great hidden gem!
I have been doing my hair with Esther for over a year now and she is absolutely great. I have curly hair and she knows how to cut it and style it properly.
She has done an amazing job with my hair colour, giving good advice when I wanted to change the colour completely.
They use good quality products, the salon is impecable and I love the massage chair when washing my hair.
Esther is very knowledgeable and experienced hairdresser and knows a bit about hair conditions. I highly recommend her. And the price is fair, not expensive. Good value for money.

Very rude front staff. Don't care about their patients at all and all they care is somehow book an appointment to get money out. Not at all helpful. Will not recommend to anyone. They are totally commercial and wont even listen to your request for any help unless you are happy to pay them
Highly shameful behavior.

DO NOT COME!

Complete waste of money and time.

They provide no care to their clients and are constantly looking to have you book a follow up appointment where they tell you the same information over and over again.

It truly deserves 0 stars.

Go somewhere else.

After numerous utterly unfulfilling appointments with two doctors, I think it's quite safe to say the dermatologists here simply don't care for their patients. They will book you useless appointments that lasts 5-10 minutes and drag this on till they have to prescribe you the treatment. It honestly feels like doctors here delay treatment for patients to make profit off all the $220 appointments leading up to it.

For example, my doctor refused to start a treatment because "it is a very expensive" when in reality I was eligible for PBS. My second doctor tried to go down a clinical trial pathway without even probing correctly to see if my schedule would allow me to come into the clinic 3-4 times a week. Only after I explained to them I could not commit to a clinical trial, she put me on the treatment I had planned to go on for months. I was told to return for another appointment for a prescription of a treatment I am already on because I had repeats left and PBS approval would likely be denied. When I explained I would be overseas when she would like me to come back and I would like to secure my treatment for the duration of my trip, she said I would have to "miss out on the treatment". Upon checking with my nurse and contacting the department of health and aged care, what my doctor told me was incorrect. I could see the pattern of me having to come in for 1-2 appointments minimum to get 1 thing done. Simply unprofessional and inappropriate.

In my most recent visit, I requested for a referral to another dermatology and I was told that they had to check with their manager. I only continued to come back as review appointments were discounted but honestly should have never booked that second appointment. My first appointment and basically all the appointments that followed were disappointing. $200-$300 is pretty standard for private dermatology clinics, go somewhere else where you can get a caring specialist.

They tried to make me pay for full initial consultation price for a follow up appointment which they had sent me a reminder sms for, claiming because i haven't been there in a while I need to pay a full price again for a follow up consultation.they see you for 3 minutes and charge crazy for it

This is a review of the clinic's front of house staff, as I have only had encounters with them on behalf of a relative of mine; in conjunction to my observations of how they have conducted themselves with my said relative, the experience has been abysmally poor with even just the basic verbal interactions.
I have worked myself for 15+ years in reception, administration and support roles in the legal industry, and if I caught one of my juniors speaking and treating clients the way that the Sinclair Dermatology staff have to my relative and myself (on multiple occasions! This isn't a once off, this is recurrent bad behaviour), they would be reprimanded to the fullest extent of their contracts. But perhaps that the medical industry or rather Sinclair Dermatology simply does not have very high standards? This clinic is a joke, and judging by the fact this poor review is joining a multitude of other reviews like it. It isn't a surprise.

Production line service.less than 10 minutes with the dermatologist & you get charged $205 & the consultation fees go up every 6 months! Patients are not notified of the increase of the consultation fee.

Nothing wrong with the doctors but the reception are literally so rude and for what? Minimum wage? So much attitude from them. I rather suffer than go here to talk to these receptionists.

As I live in the country, 2+ hour drive from East Melbourne, I asked for a phone appointment this time around to save money. I was literally on the phone for 4 minutes and 20 seconds and was charged $250, with a Medicare rebate of $40. I work in the medical industry where I live and the medical staff here were astounded and said "this can't be right", and asked me to query this. I called Sinclair back and was told it was their standard fee for an appointment, and that it is up to the Doctors discretion.

Used to offer a great service, unfortunately prices have gone up significantly and it can’t be justified given the service has become so poor, management are especially rude.

I had a great experience with Dr Bala who had to move to another state unfortunately. Since then the doctors kept changing. The receptionists need to work on their attitude. They always sound impatient on the phone.

Just spent $360 (with a $39 Medicare rebate) for a hair 'and' skin appointment that lasted only 15 minutes with the Dr.
No compensation was offered despite it lasting the duration of ONE appointment and not TWO. I was told it's a full fee because it was hair 'and' skin, and the duration of the appointment doesn't matter. The receptionist was rude and made me feel embarrassed even questioning their absurd prices.

However, the single hair or skin appointments in the past have always been rushed and inadequate in answering all questions and putting the mind at ease.

In order to become eligible for the biologics, I had to do 2 treatments to show its inefficiency. But guess what? Because of their fault in tracking my first mediciation and treatment as a part of the Medicare application- I had to do a 3rd treatment for 6 weeks, and that was extremely painful with my severe symptoms. This ended up delaying me 3+ months to get on the biologics!

2 stars because I was at least introduced to and referred for the biologics- which have worked miraculously and brought back my confidence.

Hair salon: Great service, friendly and good recommendations. *Was* economical as I paid $260 for a colour, cut and blow dry in March 2023.until they charged me $400 for a Keratin exactly 3 months later

Dr Bevin Bhoyrul is a Godsend! The stress I was under with my hair condition sent me into mental break down after mental break down until I had my appointment and almost immediately saw results upon commencing treatment! Dr Bhoyrul clearly has a genuine care for people with his empathy, is very knowledgeable and would ensure that all my questions were answered. It has been just over a year since my first appointment and just had, what I hope to be, my last (touch wood). I couldn't recommend him enough! The reception staff were also super lovely!

I had an appointment with Adam Daunton, he was very patient and listened attentively to my concerns and did not rush the consultation. He showed great care in seeking possible medications to assist my needs and printed out materials for me to read. I highly recommend Adam and thank him for a positive experience. Also reception was communicative and prompted.

Went for acne issues. Appointment was in and out, wasn’t asked about my skincare routine, was quickly put on accutane without her even rehashing the side affects, didn’t even have a chance to ask questions about any skincare options before she said bye see you in three months. Was told to go downstairs and waited 30 mins before pathology told me I actually have to do the test fasted. All that for $270 (with Medicare), ridiculous.

An absolute shambles!
Since being referred here in June I've seen three different derms for my acne because of turnover and with every appointment, I need to go through my entire history from scratch.
The latest debacle is a prescription I've been waiting on them to send to the pharmacy for over three weeks. That's three weeks with no medication for my skin which has deteriorated so badly as I'm reliant on it.
They don't answer emails, I have to chase for every single update from my derm not calling at the specified appointment time, to finding out where my script is to finding out where my bloods have gone.
Given it's $190 per appointment, it's really not good enough. I will be going elsewhere as soon as I track down my script.

Your practice really needs to get better reception staff - nobody picks up phone calls, or they pick up and hang up without so much as a hello. When you finally get through after multiple calls I was so put off by how haughty and rude your staff was that I've decided to take my referral somewhere else. I will be feeding this back to my referring doctor so they do not send others to experience this. Do better.

Edit: the response from this clinic gives an excuse about its operations without so much as an apology about the poor experience in terms of rude staff (an apology goes a long way in dealing with irate clients). Clearly indicates they do not take this seriously.

Our 3yo at the tIme developed moon face, mood swings and a big belly from the medication steroids and minoxidil prescribed. I so regret giving her and would rather her be bald and healthy!
