Sicilians Bar & Restaurant reviews
53 Yesterday, my partner and I drove all the way from Stawell to Ararat in eager anticipation of enjoying a delicious pizza. We ordered a pizza for take away. When we went to pick the order up, we were waiting for the pizza and the pizza was ready a while ago but everybody is so busy to give it to us. Although pizza was bit cold but we were happy because the taste was good, and we were enjoying our meal.
However, our dinner took an unexpected turn when we discovered a piece of glove inside the last two slices of our pizza which was stuck inside the dough. This discovery left us quite shocked and disappointed. Finding foreign objects in food is not only unsightly but also concerning for hygiene and safety reasons. We are genuinely upset with the level of negligence we experienced.
Big place loud, we had some desserts from the display fridge which ain't bad coffee was good. The service was fantastic the girls are very helpful
Good selection of food including some Middle Eastern dishes and pizza. Tried the Moroccan Chicken today which was quite nice but too salty which spoiled the flavour of the spices for me.
Delicious pizza and pasta, generous servings and reasonably priced. We were served by Emma who was friendly and helpful and she looked after us well. The local Pinot Gris was outstanding. Thanks for a terrific dinner
Probably one of the best calzone and spaghetti we had so far. We just had a stopped at Ararat almost 2 pm near restaurants closing hours and rush to order and didn’t expect much but it turned out that it was nicely made and fresh.superb!
Haven’t been here for a few years, they forgot one of our meals didn’t give the order to chef and our other meal was very very ordinary. Disappointed and wouldn’t recommend
Great menu good service staff pleasant and polite. First course comes out first and we are all served at once and received our meal together
The best pizza I think I have eaten in a while. I am a bit jealous that I don't live here. Beers are cold. Staff were very welcoming. Thanks guys.
Worst customer service. The old Karen with brown hair wearing glasses at order station is definitely racist. My husband ordered iced long black, she asked how can I make iced long black with porker face and rude tone. We are from China, we found that she always smiles when serving local customers.
Beautiful service! The garlic bread is delicious, and the Shish Tawook was to die for. Was not too slow, but we made it in before the rush so I’m not sure about your luck there 10/10 would go again
Got the steak and mushroom sauce, it was amazing, I can’t remember the last time I ate something and was wow’d. Would definitely recommend.
The food was. Not worth the money we paid but was not bad. Just average.
If youre hungry and need a quick meal it is good. But yea $70 for two people? No
Awesome pizzas. One of the best I've ever had. The staff are friendly and can't do enough for you, especially on an extremely busy Saturday night.
If you want a meal within the hour this isn’t the place for you. If you order takeaway, no problem you’ll get it promptly. After waiting about half an hour I asked how long our meals would be and was told they’ll be won’t be long. After 45 mins I was told the same thing, when I questioned it she said well we do takeaway too. Obviously given priority. I said they should have informed us the wait would be over 45mins when we ordered, she agreed and said she’d let the staff know - guess who served us - she did!
When the food finally arrived it was really good, but waiting an hour is not acceptable anywhere in my opinion. Especially when the restaurant was half empty.
A group of 5 went there for tea before doing the asylum tour … 2 of us had scotch fillet that was supposed to be med rare … half of it was med rare the other half was rare to the point of almost blue …. I was still happy to pay for our meals as other than that the meals were nice …. Instead of being courteous the older lady (I’m guessing owner) told me we are the first to ever complain and that they use a thermometer too cook their steaks …. What has that got to do with being served rare steaks … unless your steak chef is moving the thermometer around said steak whilst cooking you will get different levels of cooked …. We were still charged full price with not even an apology…. I did not want discount I just wanted to point out that our $36 steak was under cooked …. Very disappointed in the reaction too our complaint…
Away with work so dined alone. Started with a glass of Blue Pyrenees Cabernet ($9 by the glass) and Grilled Haloumi Bruschetta (Bread, sliced tomato, grilled haloumi, basil, olive oil). Very nice.
For a main I had a spaghetti Marinara (entree size) as the Bruschetta was quite filling.
Pasta was cooked well, flavour was great and the seafood was tender. Service was good from the friendly staff and prices reasonable. All in all, an enjoyable meal. Recommended.
Fairly popular place for lovely dine in or takeaway perhaps a delivery at home.
Great for pizza. Large range on the pizza menu. Woodfired. Medium sized dinner menu usually fresh and served hot with not all items on the menu available for delivery or takeaway, meals are very conservative in plate size. Clean, tidy and updated restaurant inside. Loads of staff catering. Friendly service. Outdoor tables available, very limited spaces though. Family owned business. I give a 4 star overall considering its a small country town restaurant, with nothing to compare with in town, only pubs meals.
The WORST experience EVER. Absolutely appalling service. Not once but we tried 3 times in 9 days. Same result. The last time we even booked online and we got a confirmation email to be sure we got a table but it was never put in the book.so we were refused a table. AVOID this restaurant like the plague. Go to the pub or the RSL club.even McDonalds is better than this disgrace of a place.
Food portions are huge and very tasty. Unfortunately the place is let down by the unenthusiastic and lack of customer service of some.
Fresh Fresh Fresh!
handmade pasta and King prawns, you will love it definitely, we also order the pizza and garlic bread, they really know what they doing! Highly recommend.
