Michael was fantastic fixed my mums 60 year old childhood guitar that my son has been using. His knowledge about guitars seems endless and he was so friendly and professional and had my mums guitar fixed in a day! Would recommend and will definitely make the trip back from Woodend if we need to use his services again. Thanks Michael!

My first meeting with Michael Gonthier goes back many years. I went to shout myself a nice Maton from Billy Hyde’s, but instead, took home a lovely Martin. This guitar was specially picked-out for me by Michael who then perfectly ‘set it up’ exactly the way asked. This Martin has remained my workhorse instrument to this very day. Michael’s brilliant original set-up has never needed altering in any way. So, now a very senior-aged player, I chose to shout my remaining 3 favourite Fenders, a very overdue visit to Shredd. What a shame I’d not done this decades ago. As a result of Michael’s brilliant attention to detail and most importantly, total understanding of the requirements at my age, I now have the most perfectly balanced guitars that are far superior in playability to any other I’ve owned or played in the last 55 years of my music career. I highly recommend Michael’s fine craftsmanship, very kind attitude to mature aged musicians, incredible knowledge of balancing a guitar to total perfection in sound, feel and player’s satisfaction. May I suggest YOU enjoy the brilliant service at Shredd. Michael’s a great listener and will make your guitar one to keep forever…, because it will play beautifully with you.
