Shortstop Coffee & Donuts reviews
74 As I was passing by, the donuts on display caught my eye, so I went in without realizing it.
All the donuts look really delicious.
I ordered a Cookies & Cream donut for $7 each, but it was unique in that it didn't taste like the Cookies & Cream donuts you usually think of. However, the taste wasn't worth paying $7 for.
I didn't order a drink, but they quickly served me a donut along with sparkling water.
The donuts can be a bit greasy, but eating them with sparkling water made them better than I expected.
The interior was very clean and had a nice warm feel.
My partner and I swung by this donut shop the other morning, and while there wasn't a clear menu or prices, I ended up trying their salted honey donut and cold brew coffee. The donut was pretty decent, nothing mind-blowing, but the touch of salt and honey was a nice twist. However, the lack of a visible menu and prices did make the ordering process a tad confusing. On the bright side, the cold brew coffee was a delightful accompaniment, smooth and refreshing. If they could just make their offerings clearer, it would definitely improve the overall experience.
Donuts are wonderful. Coffee (espresso, long black) is hit and miss but usually also very good.
Was really looking forward to this place due to the reviews however I was quite dissappointed with the donuts. They were really dry, tasted ok. I also got both crullers and they were really oily. With how pricey they are would have expected much better food. Unfortunately wouldn't recommend.
Amazing staff, delicious food, great vibes. 10/10 recommend this cafe.
They’ve served one of the best flat whites I’ve had in Melbourne. And the coffees are well paired with a sweet doughnut treat.
The matcha cheesecake (seasonal, $8) and walnut maple (regular, ~$6) were both to die for. They have both an outside bench and indoor seating which is nice in the summer.
The music is always good here!
Aside from doughnuts and coffee, they sell coffee beans, peanut butter, and a to-go mug.
Highly recommend.
I was looking forward to try the doughnut as one of my friend recommended it to me, I shocked how oily the donuts is, I couldn’t eat it at all.
Waste of money
It's the best donuts I've ever had.
The choice of donuts is diverse. It won't be too sweet and won't be greasy to eat. Everything is just right…
I like lemon and chocolate it tastes so good.
I'll go back when I want to eat a donut.
Had one of the maple walnut ones today (fresh) and it absolutely blew my mind, I didn’t think donuts could actually be this good it was seriously crazy.
I then thought what better way to score some brownie points with the missus and bought her home a triple matcha. Let’s just say she was very very happy.
Honestly, by leaps and bounds the best doughnut shop in Melbourne. They even make the best crullers without the hour long line. My only gripe is they don't have their maple bars as a mainstay.
I'm all about this place.
The best facet is the donuts, they're well thought out, their fillings and icings include real ingredients rather than being just sugar and colouring.
There peaches and cream donut was legit. It was a fantastic dough, not to thick and not so thin that it disintegrated in your mouth. It also wasn't excessively sweet, which took nothing away from the flavour of the filling.
The filling was stewed peaches, that had been rendered down to a peach jelly, and injected into the doughnut with a lovely vanilla cream. This doughnut was 10 out of 10.
There were other types of donut also, everything I ate was of a great standard.
Get there early though as they can run out of your favourites!
The coffee is a medium roast, which is not my jam personally, I prefer a dark roast, but for a medium roast they do a great job.
They're not cheap, but as mentioned their products are high quality and worth it.
Get down there and get your donut on!
Best donuts so far in Melbourne! The Maple Walnut & Brown Butter was by far the best. We loved them with the only exception being the Australian Honey & Sea Salt - far too oily. The rest were fab and the service was well above par?
Small little shop with limited seating. Excellent coffee and donuts. They have regular flavours plus new/seasonal flavours. Very friendly staff.
The BEST donuts in all of Melbourne, presented alongside excellent coffee by some of the loveliest, most personable and professional staff I've had the pleasure of being served by. Go here. You will not be disappointed.
I ordered mix of 6 donuts for delivery and I was a bit disappointed. I enjoyed combinations of fillings/flavors however dough was way below my expectations, it was really oily.
Best freshly made donuts. You can see how they make it through glass window. Their donut flavor also included Asian touch yummy

: A classic donut shop that everyone in Melbourne must try at least once in their time here. They definitely live up to the rave, making only the best donuts for you.
️: Available until the 25th of December only! It’s time to get festive with their limited time Eggnog & Candied Pecan Raised Donut. Cute star-shaped dough dipped in house-made eggnog glaze of egg, cream cinnamon, nutmeg, and golden rum.
The best fresh donuts in Melbourne, as far as I'm concerned. There is nothing quite as good as a fresh honey & sea-salt cruller from Shortstop.
Lovely doughnuts and coffee with friendly service. Food was extremely fresh but you are buying premium doughnuts so -1 star for value.
I don't know if I just went on a bad day but the donuts were dry, plus they didn't have any filled doughnuts despite going first thing in the morning.granted it was national doughnut day and they said they had to send them out for online orders but I drove all the way into the city to get one doughnut and couldn't so can't really give them more than two stars.
Perfectly balanced donuts. The texture was just right. The perfect amount of moisture and airiness in the dough. The sweet donuts have a very nice subtle aftertaste to them, and definitely not overwhelmingly sweet.
The savory donuts are still on the sweeter side, but it’s something that I kinda expected for a donut place anyway.
The coffee was also pretty good.
