Had the fish sammich with curly fries and it was jammed pack with flavour. Although, not gonna lie, won’t be mad if this was a fish and chip scenario.

This transported me to waterberry open. I have loved sandwiches for the longest of times and coffee just as long as and this was an absolute perfect experience from the moment we were served to the moment I left. Incredibly welcome and lovely service and the sandwiches were an Indiana jones adventure for the mouth. Would recommend for my grandmother when I’m trying to win enough money to buy her house back from the irs.

I've been going here regularly over the past 3 months and can't fault Lily and her band of merry men.

Coffee is ALWAYS on point, food is delish (pastrami roll that has recently been added to the menu is top shelf and the hot honey fried chicken will have you licking every last bit of delishiousness off your fingers)

On top of all this, it's Happy Gilmore themed, and (let's be serious) 90's nostalgia makes everything better!

Would give 6 ️ if it was an option.

Swear down it was the best egg roll I’ve ever had. That crispy chilli oil is something ungodly.

My husband and I had the Nashville fried chicken burger, oh my gosh, it was amazing! Succulent, juicy and spicy. My husband reckons he can eat 10 of them!

Every f#$%ing thing was amazing, service impeccable, sandwiches divine, coffee incredible, if you haven't been yet, just go there today.or you'll pay! LISTEN to what I say!

Shooters McGavins knows how to aim for the souls of everyone in the heart of Carlton with their rotating and wide selection of sangas.

A range of brekkie options that puts a bit more effort than your sad disproportionate mcmuffin from Maccas, and meatier options for lunch from tuna melts, porchetta rolls, pastrami rolls and salad sangas.

They use a good quality range of meats, but execution as a sandwich is a hit and miss
- pastrami beef toastie (3/5) the sauce was too mustardy and one level depth, not sour yet mellow like your typical reuben
- pastrami brekkie roll (4/5) this was much better the sauce was crack and the bread was something different and fun
- hot honey chicken (3.5/5)
- smashed sausage bagel (4.5/5) so flavourful
- fish butty (4.25/5) best fillet o fish w/ chips maccas hack remake - the chips were surprisingly crispy despite the juicy soft surroundings
- tuna melt (3.85/5)
- roast chicken roll with crispy skin (3/5) : where is the crispy skin, more soggy than saucy

Definitely go for the toasties bc they have such the perfect buttery crunch

Hopefully they don’t make the same mistake again with the soft biscuit bc it was sorta weird, felt undercooked too. BUT the chicken was super crispy and the sauce was powerful.

Definitely an ongoing supporter bc they are always improving and they are amazing with their phone preorders given I am always tight on time!

My friend and I went this morning for breakfast, Such a great experience, Breakfast egg rolls were so amazing, best I’ve ever had. Service was 10/10, they were so nice, even gave us extra sauce to try! Coffee was also amazing! Can’t recommend them enough! Must try!

Randomly stumbled across this place and boy was it delicious!

My favourite was the fish sandwich, it was stacked with 2 layers of fish, crispy on the outside, soft and flakey on the inside. The acidity of the coleslaw/salad perfectly balanced the richness of the fish, top it off with some cheese and wow amazing!

Shooter McGavin may have eaten pieces of sh$t for breakfast, but that doesn't mean you have to. The sandwiches, service and coffee are all on point here.

Our favourite new sandwich shop, right around the corner from us. From the food to the staff, what a way to spend a Saturday. Definitely recommend the Beef toasties can’t wait to get catering for the office!

The honey fried chicken was piping hot and super tender. However, there wasn’t a whole heap of honey flavour to it. The biscuit bun that comes with it was delicious though - very unique!
Fish butty was highly recommended and I can see why. It reminded me of a boujee fillet-o-fish from maccas lol. But trust me, it’s even better. The conti was fresh and delightful.

The house iced tea was incredibly fresh but very tangy from the lime. I found it a bit too overpowering but that’s probably because I’m not a tangy person.

Local heroes. Best cafe in Carlton! Amazing coffee, the best sandwiches and such a welcoming, friendly vibe. An absolute gem of the community get in early for the breakky rolls, they’re the best and often sell out!

I can’t stop craving a delectable sandwich lunch from this amazing gourmet sandwich shop, Shooter McGavin’s, in Carlton. The offerings on the menu make it way too hard to choose just one and the various breads are so delicious. My personal favourites are the fish butty (with real chips inside) or the chicken salad. But then the Nashville fried chicken is too good to pass up. My friend loves the beef. Coffee is fantastic, and so is the tea. The staff are friendly and service is fast. There also outdoor tables under cover. Have a read of the glowing reviews by The Age GFG, Herald Sun and Broadsheet.

Absolutely bloody delicious. The pickle chips are something I dream of. Great coffees and the staff are such legends make you feel welcomed back every time.

Been consistently going to shooters for a while now. Amazing coffee and best sanga’s going around (do yourself a favour and try the chicken salad sandwich). The staff are super friendly, bubbly and always happy to have a laugh. If you haven’t been yet, I highly recommend. You’ll soon become a regular.
