Shinya Ramen & Bar Waurn Ponds

We ordered 3 main courses and 1 starter. It took 1 hour before the first main course came out, then waited another 15 minutes for the starter to come and then another 15 minutes for the remaining two main courses, so a 1.5 hour wait in total.
Suffice to say that we will never return to Shinya Ramen.

What happened to this place? ! When it first opened it was fantastic. The last few months something has happened. New management maybe? I'm here at the moment having had to settle for my 3rd choice on the menu because nothing seems to be available. And, no, it's not at the end of a busy night. It's 6: 30pm and there's 3 other people here. This has become a regular occurrence ("Sorry that's not available. ".). As for the service decline.omg! It's regularly a 30 minute wait now once you've ordered. A few weeks ago I gave up after waiting 75 minutes for a takeaway order (not exaggerating.my receipt was time stamped). At the 75 minutes mark I gave up and asked for my money back. It's a real shame.as I said, this place used to be great and I keep hoping it will get back to normal. This will be the last time I'm here though. My recommendation.
Don't bother. Even if they do happen to have what you want on the menu, you'll wait forever anyway. Go elsewhere.

AND.just witnessed one of the kitchen staff coming out of the toilet without washing his hands. I think I'm going to be sick now

Waited an hour and 10mins with two hungry young kids - the worst part watching others come in well after us and eat way before us. The service was bad - my main came out with our entre then one kids main 10mins later and the other main 15 mins after that. Was very annoyed and their answer to the issues - 5% off the bill.
The food was good once back when the started but not now. The spicy ramen was very lame and watered down. I'd say management has killed the place not paying workers properly and skimping on everything.
Won't be going back - they've lost regulars and I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

Used to be a great restaurant, looks like someone else took over the business, what a shame

We saw the good reviews so last week my wife and I tried it out and we were very disappointed. We sat on the wooden bench which was sticky as was the table. I had the tonkotsu ramen while my wife had the chicken katsu curry. My pork was really chewy, especially the tough rind.and no nori either despite it being listed on the menu. But the worst was the chicken katsu.it was cold.how is that even possible? We think it must've been pre made and not heated up correctly. The vegetable tempura was oily as well. The only nice dish was the fried oysters, but not enough to save this experience.

Everything about the restaurant from when we walked in was stunning.
Very neat abd tidy inside and with inviting, friendly atmosphere and customer service.
The food was absolutely delicious especially the flavoured egg which really was the highlight of the ramen bowl.
We will be back asap

The Supa Spicy Ramen was utter junk and the smallest portion of ramen I have ever seen with a single thinly cut pork piece. The broth feels like water and spicy mixed together without any refinements. There are item missing as well. I expected better from "Authentic Japanese taste" shop. Money wasted!

I can only taste spiciness and tasteless broth flavour.
Dont get fooled by any other good review.

Unfortunately not great, had hopes but food was pretty bland (esp chicken Ramen), flies buzzing around the windows and didn’t feel overly clean.

The waitresses were very kind and lovely and made us feel welcomed. We were served quickly and the food was absolutely delicious. My only complaint is that the chopsticks provided on the table were all quite dusty, but aside from that it was a very nice experience and I would definitely want to eat here again.

Ordered at 6.40 including 1 Asaki 1xcoke which never came - food took 50 minutes, after asking twice what the go was - we only ordered a starter and 2 chicken ramen soups - no cutlery till we asked twice - the chop sticks are wooden and wet (eeew)
Food was about a three out of 10
Staff were delightful apologising constantly but ……. Given I recommended this eatery to three friends and in the night they seemed more interested in organising Uber Eats orders then serving the very few people in the eatery - sad - I won’t be going again feel sorry for the awesome staff who are run ragged apologising for late orders

They have a super cool robot, it didn’t serve food to us unfortunately but it was so cool to see! The food was so good and the servings were very generous. SO DELICIOUS.

The service was amazzzingg. The girl with pink hair was super switched on and super duper nice. The rest of the staff were super sweet aswell.

Lovely food prepared fresh and served fast. Great attentive service.
Excellent for a quick bite to eat when you can’t be bothered cooking.
My usual go to is the spicy gyoza or the Chicken Katsu Curry Don. New favorite is the vegetable tempura.

The food was fantastic. The service was excellent which made it a great evening. Place is really busy make sure you book early. Highly recommend!

Very poor food. This place isn't authentic Japanese. This is a reminder for me not to come back again.

I had original Tonkotsu Ramen & teriyaki chicken bento. It was just like simple taste. The staff service was really good and there are many foods that you can enjoy lightly.

Ordered a vegetarian dish and received what appears to be meat. Called the store and they were adamant that I received "green vegetarian dumplings".

The food wea presented well, the katsu chicken was slightly burned on the outside but moist inside. The staff are friendly and attentive. A bit pricey for noodles
